I purchased a new Nissan minivan in November (from another Nissan dealer in the area) and wanted to have service done at a Nissan dealership....My Auto Import is closer than the Nissan dealer where I another Nissan dealer in the area) and wanted to have service done at a Nissan dealership....My Auto Import is closer than the Nissan dealer where I bought the minivan. So, on a Monday I scheduled with My Auto Import for a Tuesday oil change package that included oil change, tire rotation and car wash. Took the car in at the scheduled time and they completed the oil change and tire rotation but informed me at checkout that the "car wash person" was out so they hadn’t been able to wash my car……but I could come back anytime for a free car wash. My Auto Import is 10 to 15 miles away from my home and not on any routes I travel frequently so I emailed the service manager that night, explained the situation and just asked that they credit the car wash portion of the package back to my credit card because making a separate trip for a car wash wasn't convenient. In short, they did respond after a few days and they did offer me a small credit...but the reply they sent me and the credit they offered clearly communicated to me that they weren't really bothered by the fact that they sold me a service that they didn't deliver on ……and, when I brought it to their attention their approach was to do the bare minimum to make it go away. No major crimes here, just an apathetic Nissan dealership that did not deliver on the service they offered and, in follow up, was not interested in doing much of anything to ensure the satisfaction of a new Nissan owner. I have a 1999 toyota tacoma that I received a recall notice on regarding frame rust treatment in early 2011. When I called My Auto Import to arrange for service I was told that they quit providing sai notice on regarding frame rust treatment in early 2011. When I called My Auto Import to arrange for service I was told that they quit providing said recall service on March 31, 2011. I then called Toyota Headquarters and they told me that the recall was still in effect. Headquarters also advised me to speak with the service manager and not a technician as they are usually not as aware of such matters as the manager should be. So I called My Import a second time and got the same person in service that I had the first time and when I asked for the manager he told me that he was the manager. I told him about my call to Toyota Headquarters and that the recall was still in effect and that there appeared to be a disconnect between Headquarter directives and him. He was adamant and told me again that they were not honoring the recall. I then called Toyota of Grand Rapids and they courteously honored the recall and arranged an inspection date. I would have preferred to take it to My Import in Muskegon because they are about 30 mi. from my residence as opposed to Toyota of G.R. being 65mi one way but My Impolite Import's stance on said issue settled that matter. I wouldn't buy a valve stem cap from them at this point! Anyhow, after the inspection at Toyota of G.R. i was given a date to bring it back in the following week and that it would take approximately 3 days to prep the frame with a chemical rust inhibitor and then they would follow that up with a spray-on rust inhibitor. They also gave me a loaner car. It appears that they did quite a good job on my truck. Maybe Toyota is so inundated with the recent spate of recalls that My Auto Import can't handle it! I called Headquarters again and relayed my experience to them and they asked if I wanted to make a formal complaint. I said what would that have proved other than to have forced My Import to accept the recall order which would be akin to complaining about a restaurant dish that isn't what you ordered or not done the way you requested and they grudgingly take it back to remedy it and you then wonder if it's suitable for consumption when they return it to you in a rude manner. I told Headquarters that I didn't feel a formal complaint would accomplish anything as I would not in all likelihood ever deal with My Import again if how they treated my recall request is indicative of their overall service. First time experience was with my 2002 Passat, for warranty work and oil changes(brought my own 0w40). They were competent, but only give loaners to people with newer model year cars, though I didn't warranty work and oil changes(brought my own 0w40). They were competent, but only give loaners to people with newer model year cars, though I didn't need one at the time. Years later with my Audi A6, had it towed there for coolant leak. Was quoted a price and parts needed. Had parts in stock except for 1. It took 4+ days for a little O ring to arrive. I didn't wait that long and went to another dealership to buy the part, bring it back and tell them to use it. Said they couldn't get the car in until a few days later. I told them off and drove it, leaking, to an indy repair shop in Holland. Gave them the parts and they did it for $200 less. The reason? The part I had been waiting so anxiously for wasn't needed at all and they just wanted to add it to the work order "while they were in there". I swore them off until recently I had the serpentine belt snap and towed it to myimport again. They got to it in 1 day and ordered a new belt which took 2 days when again, that other dealership in GR had THREE of them in stock! When they got the belt it was another DAY before they got it on. And again, I feel they overcharged. $3 too much for the belt and indiscript "misc" labor charges for $190=2+/- hours of work. The service advisor is jovial, but the prices are outrageous, and other items I asked them to check while it was there were not done and I had to remind them on callback to CHECK THESE ISSUES. They couldn't find anything wrong with the steering (no squeeking), when 3 ind. shops said tie rods and control arms. A SERIOUS issue if failure happens. After I was told the car was ready, they said they couldn't get a shuttle for me for 2 hours because of driver scheduling problems. I had made an appt. at that "other" dealership to have the rest of my items fixed 2 hours later, but couldn't make it since they were 2 hours late picking me up. Save yourself the aggravation of high prices and wasted time on parts orders and go to Delta Audi/Porsche on 28th street (the "other" dealership I alluded to). You'd think they'd be the high price rollers with the types of cars they sell, but they're consistently the lowest for rates in the area, esp for the timing belt job I had which was HALF what myimport wanted. How they were able to wiggle in an extra $750 for this is beyond fathoming. I will never bring my car there again. And I never tell the service adivsor why he hasn't seen me in a long time. I'm also someone who can fix their own issues most of the time with my Bentley manual and VAG-COM. During an oil change visit, I overheard one of the sales staff mention to a customer that a VW had a better suspension than an Audi. He was trying his hardest to sell her a bridge. I wonder what other lies they perpetuate to make a sale. Live axle can in no way be mentioned in the same breath as independent rear. And on one other service visit to the dealer with my Passat, I wanted to test drive an A6 4.2, one of their $55,000 models. The salesman copied my license then came back to say the manager gets "jittery" with expensive cars and said I would have to be a passenger and could not drive it. The car had the notorious "driveline thump", and was still sitting in the same spot months later after he said some gentleman was going to purchase it in a few days. 1 year after that what do I show up on the lot driving? An A6 2.7 twin turbo /w euro code amber turn signal brake lights. Maybe he thought I was too young. Either way they have lost my business perm, and I treat all their sales/management staff with contempt when I go there to buy filters and wander around to see if their practices have changed. I wouldn't trust my own grandfather in place like that. But then I know the tech features of these cars, as you all should be so informed before visiting a dealer. More
My Auto Import Center, specifically their "sales associate", a term which I use lightly, Fred Weiss, employ pushy and dishonest sales tactics. After negotiating a deal on a new vehicle, they reneged associate", a term which I use lightly, Fred Weiss, employ pushy and dishonest sales tactics. After negotiating a deal on a new vehicle, they reneged as I secured outside financing which would have put less money in their pockets. I suggest that consumers avoid them at all costs, there are 2 other VW dealers in the area that are tremendously more pleasant to deal with. More
My husband and I decided to purchase a larger vehicle to support our growing family and we decided on a Toyota. While the vehicle itself we are pleased with, we are irritated to say the least with the sales support our growing family and we decided on a Toyota. While the vehicle itself we are pleased with, we are irritated to say the least with the sales associate we had. Our sale associate, was less than helpful and often blamed his short comings on his "busy schedule", "responsiblities with dealer inventory", etc. He was far from prompt or even close to on time either. On the day we went to purchase our vehicle, we could not find him and it took an hour, which would have been fine, but 50 minutes of that hour was spent paging him, calling him and trying to locate him. Most irritating of all was that he didn't even have the nerve to shake our hands and thank us for our purchase. He just took our trade in and drove away. I have never been so insulted in my entire life. More
I have purchased 5 vehicles from My Auto Import Center since 2000, when they used to be located in a more modest facility in another part of Muskegon. Each time I have bought a car, I have had to deal wit since 2000, when they used to be located in a more modest facility in another part of Muskegon. Each time I have bought a car, I have had to deal with a different salesperson, since they have a high turn over rate. In 2000, when I bought two cars from them, and in 2003 when I bought two more cars, they were great to deal with. However, since that time, I have noticed that their sales staff has become much more aggressive and rude. As the one reviewer before me says: they are sharks. I purchased my last car there in the Fall: but was a bit disappointed in their new sales approach. Recently, my wife and I made a long trip to Muskegon for the soul purpose of looking. When I got out of my car a salesperson came right up to me. I told that person that I was not interested in talking with a salesperson, and wanted to just look. He wouldn't leave us alone. When I finally broke away from him, he followed me to another part of the dealership. I told him once again that I only wanted to look. He kept talking. I told him that if he said one more word I would leave and do business elsewhere. He kept talking. I will not buy another vehicle there. The salespeople there are sharks for sure and have no respect for customer wishes. That's too bad for them. I am ready to purchase two more vehicles this Fall, and will go elsewhere. More
To start off, the salesmen are disrespectful, and are complete sharks. I was lied to NUMEROUS times about carfax reports on used cars. The service department is absolutely dispicable. A simple oil cha complete sharks. I was lied to NUMEROUS times about carfax reports on used cars. The service department is absolutely dispicable. A simple oil change cannot even be completed by them with success. shortly after getting home after an oil change i was presented with a shiny pool of fresh oil on my garage floor. Both the service managers, and mechanics are the most arrogant individuals i have ever met. They are extremely bad about performing any warranty related repair, or anything you dont pay for. Their work is of poor quality, and takes far too long to complete. I will never deal with them again. More
