First time experience was with my 2002 Passat, for warranty work and oil changes(brought my own 0w40). They were competent, but only give loaners to people with newer model year cars, though I didn't warranty work and oil changes(brought my own 0w40). They were competent, but only give loaners to people with newer model year cars, though I didn't need one at the time. Years later with my Audi A6, had it towed there for coolant leak. Was quoted a price and parts needed. Had parts in stock except for 1. It took 4+ days for a little O ring to arrive. I didn't wait that long and went to another dealership to buy the part, bring it back and tell them to use it. Said they couldn't get the car in until a few days later. I told them off and drove it, leaking, to an indy repair shop in Holland. Gave them the parts and they did it for $200 less. The reason? The part I had been waiting so anxiously for wasn't needed at all and they just wanted to add it to the work order "while they were in there". I swore them off until recently I had the serpentine belt snap and towed it to myimport again. They got to it in 1 day and ordered a new belt which took 2 days when again, that other dealership in GR had THREE of them in stock! When they got the belt it was another DAY before they got it on. And again, I feel they overcharged. $3 too much for the belt and indiscript "misc" labor charges for $190=2+/- hours of work. The service advisor is jovial, but the prices are outrageous, and other items I asked them to check while it was there were not done and I had to remind them on callback to CHECK THESE ISSUES. They couldn't find anything wrong with the steering (no squeeking), when 3 ind. shops said tie rods and control arms. A SERIOUS issue if failure happens. After I was told the car was ready, they said they couldn't get a shuttle for me for 2 hours because of driver scheduling problems. I had made an appt. at that "other" dealership to have the rest of my items fixed 2 hours later, but couldn't make it since they were 2 hours late picking me up. Save yourself the aggravation of high prices and wasted time on parts orders and go to Delta Audi/Porsche on 28th street (the "other" dealership I alluded to). You'd think they'd be the high price rollers with the types of cars they sell, but they're consistently the lowest for rates in the area, esp for the timing belt job I had which was HALF what myimport wanted. How they were able to wiggle in an extra $750 for this is beyond fathoming. I will never bring my car there again. And I never tell the service adivsor why he hasn't seen me in a long time. I'm also someone who can fix their own issues most of the time with my Bentley manual and VAG-COM. During an oil change visit, I overheard one of the sales staff mention to a customer that a VW had a better suspension than an Audi. He was trying his hardest to sell her a bridge. I wonder what other lies they perpetuate to make a sale. Live axle can in no way be mentioned in the same breath as independent rear. And on one other service visit to the dealer with my Passat, I wanted to test drive an A6 4.2, one of their $55,000 models. The salesman copied my license then came back to say the manager gets "jittery" with expensive cars and said I would have to be a passenger and could not drive it. The car had the notorious "driveline thump", and was still sitting in the same spot months later after he said some gentleman was going to purchase it in a few days. 1 year after that what do I show up on the lot driving? An A6 2.7 twin turbo /w euro code amber turn signal brake lights. Maybe he thought I was too young. Either way they have lost my business perm, and I treat all their sales/management staff with contempt when I go there to buy filters and wander around to see if their practices have changed. I wouldn't trust my own grandfather in place like that. But then I know the tech features of these cars, as you all should be so informed before visiting a dealer. More
To start off, the salesmen are disrespectful, and are complete sharks. I was lied to NUMEROUS times about carfax reports on used cars. The service department is absolutely dispicable. A simple oil cha complete sharks. I was lied to NUMEROUS times about carfax reports on used cars. The service department is absolutely dispicable. A simple oil change cannot even be completed by them with success. shortly after getting home after an oil change i was presented with a shiny pool of fresh oil on my garage floor. Both the service managers, and mechanics are the most arrogant individuals i have ever met. They are extremely bad about performing any warranty related repair, or anything you dont pay for. Their work is of poor quality, and takes far too long to complete. I will never deal with them again. More
