I’ve been an Acura driver for 10 years and never saw myself driving anything else. The transmission in my TLX started failing around 65k miles. After driving for an hour or so, the car would totally freak out and go into limp mode. It would driving almost impossible because it wouldn’t shift. 5-6 different error codes would pop up. It only happened on the highway when I wasn’t even shifting. Once it happened while in park after I had stopped on a road trip. Once the car would cool off, things would go back to normal. I first brought it to two local mechanics because Muller is over an hour away. They each pointed me to a dealer. The first time I brought it to Muller Acura in Merrillville, they didn't do anything because their system couldn't figure it out even though I showed them the video of the dashboard going haywire. They said the other shops must have cleared the codes. On the second visit, they said there was little they could do unless they got it while the issue was happening. So they changed the transmission fluid for $500 and sent me off. That fixed things for about 5k miles but the issue returned. I brought it again a couple months later after driving it long enough to trigger limp mode, then found a way to bring it to Muller was the car was freaking out. It was just as the warranty was about to expire. I emailed the video of the dashboard in limp mode to the Service Manager. They had the car for 2 weeks and didn't fix anything. They said the Acura tech line was involved and promised my transmission was fine. During all these visits they were very pleasant and service focused, and I thought they were looking out for me. After that, the issue went from happening every time I drove more than 45 minutes to not happening. So they must have done something. But once again, the issue returned another 4-5k miles later. By then the warranty had expired. That’s when I realized they were either incapable of fixing it, or buying time until the warranty expired to avoid a $7,200 repair. I consulted two different transmission shops who both pointed me back to a dealer. I brought it to a different Acura dealer who told me a new transmission for my VIN had already been recommended to a previous dealer. That’s when the truth came out. I called Matt, the General Manager at Muller, 3 times. My voicemail and message left with the receptionist weren’t' returned. I drove an hour to stop by in person. It was 8:00 pm and very slow. When I gave my name to the sales shlub and asked for Matt, he came back and said Matt was too busy to talk. He said I’d have to come back another time even though I mentioned living an hour away. No attempt schedule a follow up or ask for my info. They were clearly avoiding me. So not only does Acura build garbage transmissions, they lie and cheat to not have to replace them under warranty. It's been a disgusting experience with Muller Acura and my TLX. Run before you’re their next victim. More
I emailed my salesperson, Charles Bournazos, approximately 3 weeks after purchasing my ILX. I was inquiring about the paperwork to obtain my plates as nothing was provided and I had yet to recei approximately 3 weeks after purchasing my ILX. Charles calls me and says "Hey, its Friday night, call my store manager tomorrow, and loose my f@xxxxx number from your phone!!. You bought my buddies car and got a great car and I didn't get rich off of you. I appreciate your business but its 8 o'clock on a F@xxxxx friday". My dad overheard the conversation as Charles was on speaker and asked Charles what the xxxx was his problem and stated we didn't appreciate the abusing language. He told my dad "I never used the "F" word" and my dad told him "yes you did, I heard you!!" Once Charles realized he wasn't only talking to me but to my dad as well, he quickly apologized and said he was sick and not feeling well. Prior to this incident, I came in on three occasions to look at the car. The 2nd visit was at 7:15 pm, and the sales person would not let me take my mother and grandmother for a test drive since they were closing (note: the posted closing time was at 8:00 pm.). The third time I came back was at 7:30 p.m. and I just wanted to look at the car one more time...Charles reminded us that they are closing soon and stated "why do you keep coming at closing time?" He allowed us to look at the car but never offered a second test drive. This was my first major purchase as a recent college grad. This dealership and its employees were more concerned about going home than selling a car. The abusive language used by Charles was extremely unprofessional, disturbing, and simply classless. This was my FIRST and LAST purchase from this dealership. I will never step foot in the doors and will make sure my experience is shared with everyone I know. While I received a good deal on the vehicle, I expected much more from a family owed Acura store that has been in business for such a long time. I'm sure the Muller family expects more from their employees and would also be extremely disappointed. More

The whole process was jacked up. Our salesman (Charlie) was not very kind or relatable and acted like he didn't want to be there or work with us. We actually wanted to buy the car, but chose not to on principle due to the experience. Worst auto shopping experience ever. More
One thing about going to Muller is they make sure you are satiisfied. Although it takes me almost an hour to get there, it is well worth the trip. He showed us the cars we requested and then introduced us to cars that matched our interests. We went from buying 1 car to 2 (Acura and Audi)!! They truly earned our business! Not only did they work hard to secure good rates and warranty coverage on the used vehicles (3 yrs old); but they carefully explained the process to us every step of the way. Neely was awesome too. She was patient as we updated our insurance with the new vehicles and then explained every document that we had to sign. We really felt we could trust them and that we would continue to receive top notch, quality service. We are glad to be a part of the Muller Family! More
