I have shopped here in the past over the years and had good experiences (including purchases) until my wife went to buy a car for our son. Sales guy was nice and everything seemed fine. However, they tack good experiences (including purchases) until my wife went to buy a car for our son. Sales guy was nice and everything seemed fine. However, they tacked on a $2200 "coating" charge to a $6600 car without ever verbally mentioning the price. And once the coating is on, they can't refund anything. It must be a magic coating. No doubt we should have read more carefully and the price was in the documents that were signed (in small print, but it was there). When my wife asked about why the loan price seemed so high, there was a kind of hand-wavey "interest" mentioned, but the real issue was the coating. You can't add an item which ups the cost of the car by a third while only including the price on written documents and feel good about how you're treating customers. When I saw the documents, we went in the next day to discuss this with them and it was clear we weren't the first to have a complaint about this issue. I can't claim we were defrauded. I'm sure they checked every box technically, but they've lost this customer. And I hope that others take my warning seriously. It sure feels like they were taking advantage of a female shopper. I feel terrible because I told my wife that I was sure they'd treat her well as I'd been treated well in the past. Live and learn, but $2200 is an expensive lesson. More
