READ MY TESTIMONY AND SEE WHAT YOUR FUTURE WILL BE!! They will sell you a junk car and ghost you when you have a problem. Bought my 2010 GMC Yukon XL in June of 2024. Bought it with 167k miles on it. I knew that part of buying a car with that many miles was that things will go out and that will be on me to repair, I have no problem with that. I felt comfortable with their 102 point inspection in which it passed with flying colors and decided to bring it home. After only a month of ownership, I went to get a safety inspection done (that they "forgot" to do, and said they were going to mail me a check to reimburse me, still waiting on that check 6 months later) and the ball joints were so bad that the guy told me that they were not checked at Mountain Top Motors. I called Mountain Top and they agreed to replace the ball joints, but I had to do a total of 2 hours of driving to take it there and back with no reimbursement for their "mistake." By this time i was suspicious though. If they missed the ball joints, what else did they miss? 3 months later and only 3500 miles, the transmission starts shifting weird. I take it to a nearby GMC dealership and they took a sample of transmission fluid and the certified technician said the fluid was "extremely burnt and full of metal." I asked him if that damage can happen in 3500 miles and he said absolutely not. So I went back to the inspection paperwork from Mountain Top and "transmission fluid level and condition" was a pass. Look at that, another "mistake", no reason why it shouldn't be handled just like the ball joints, they make a mistake, they make it right. Nope, called them and they said "well you test drove it right? well there's nothing we can do then" I then drafted and sent an email to the owner, Jon Lang. I received a response from the general manager, Kyle Wohlschaeger, saying the same thing as before, "well you test drove it." After reaching out to a lawyer and explaining the circumstances, he advised that we do have a case against Mountain Top but suggested we give them one last opportunity to make things right and told us to send a more formal letter via certified mail. This letter was received and signed for at Mountain Top on 11/27/24. I gave them a couple of weeks to respond and an email was sent to try to get a response. Both the letter and the email had been received and ignored. I filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General's Office and they have reached out to Mountain Top and are yet to hear back. I'm tired of messing around, see ya in court. Mountain Top states on their website, "even if you are choosing an older 90's model 4x4 you can be rest assured that it’s in great shape. Mountain Top stands behind their sales as well, if there is an issue after the sale Mountain Top will work with the customer. Not leave them high and dry." Well, Mountain Top, the ball is in your court, work with your customers. Brandon Menke was my salesman. He was alright. Had to call and text him a million times because he would stop responding. When I went to pick up my car I texted him hours before and told him what time I was coming and he said that he'd be there, when I showed up they had taken a dealership car to go get McDonalds and had to sit in the lobby for at least 20 minutes. That shows you how valued you are as a customer. I'd give him 3 stars. More
I'm not sure of the past reviews. I purchased a truck from them in July, 2024. The experience was exceptional. The price was more than fair with market value. Furthermore, they were very professional and accommodating. I decided to trade it in at another dealer in December, 2024. Unfortunately, the Carfax report missed an incident which affected the trade in value ( It still was missing in Dec). Therefore, I reached out to their new general manager, Walker, to discuss. Within 12 hours (overnight) he notified me that the dealer would be willing to purchase the vehicle back. Furthermore, they may me more than fair offer. I could not believe the promptness and fairness. Moreover, they genuinely wanted to make things right. In the end, I went to the dealership, met with Walker, and completed the transaction within 10 minutes. Well done Mountain Top! I will be considering them for all future automotive transactions. Thank you, Kevin More
I bought an '08 Tahoe hybrid that was delivered to my house and the tow truck driver watched as the truck stalled out. I had notified Casey the salesman who sold me this hunk of junk and was told basical house and the tow truck driver watched as the truck stalled out. I had notified Casey the salesman who sold me this hunk of junk and was told basically there was nothing they could do. 14,000 I paid for three mechanics two dealerships to try and find out what was wrong with it. I explained to my salesman that I was in a car accident less than a month prior and that I have children so I was in need of a reliable vehicle. He took my vulnerability and ran with it. It's been a year and a half and been to three different mechanics nobody can seem to help! It honestly breaks my heart that someone would take advantage of someone else's situation. You have no idea how much anxiety this vehicle has given me. More

Never buy from this dealership, my son and his fiance test drove a car on a Saturday put a down payment to hold the car to come back on Monday with the full amount and buy the car outright and was inform test drove a car on a Saturday put a down payment to hold the car to come back on Monday with the full amount and buy the car outright and was informed that the car they test drove was not the car for that price, after the dealership was called Monday morning to verify the total cost and ok'd it,they claimed it was a mistake once they were there to buy it then tried and sell them a lesser car for the original price and said the car they drove would be $1000 more. They don't live in Troy made 2 trips for what, mistake or scam this dealership did nothing to make it right. Glad they walked away with there money and will shop somewhere else. More
Very disappointed in my service at this dealership! Tony was the salesman that I dealt with. He was very rude and sarcastic. I felt like because I was a female he didn’t want to negotiate the price or Tony was the salesman that I dealt with. He was very rude and sarcastic. I felt like because I was a female he didn’t want to negotiate the price or listen to my concerns about the vehicle. He told me that if I wanted a perfect car then I should buy a new one. I am not stupid! I know used cars have flaws but if something is broke it should be fixed. Don’t insult my intelligence! More

The deal you get will just be decent enough to get you to go ahead and purchase a vehicle and get completely railroaded on your trade in. I dropped $49,000 cash on a Ram 2500 Laramie with 57,000 miles. Then called a week later because as soon as I got home I realized the brakes were squealing like a stuck pig. Tony told me 30 days anything wrong, they will fix it, no questions, no xx. So I take it in to get the brakes looked at (of course I had to take a day off work and it was weeks away, just shy of 30 days) and they want to charge me for a brake job. I ask to talk to a manager, but he’s “in a meeting”. Ok, I’ll wait. “Oh, he’s going to be in a meeting all day”, of course he is. These people should be ashamed of themselves. Once you cut the check, they will have no problem sticking it to ya. But I suppose it’s my fault for trusting a hillbilly dealership in Troy Missouri. Save yourself the headache and go to a big name dealership down the road. THESE PEOPLE NEED JESUS. You can’t trust a handshake deal, you can’t trust anything that comes out of their mouths. I can’t even express how disappointed I am in this establishment. They don’t deserve your money. They don’t deserve your time. More
Before buying a vehicle I will start by saying the sales man (tony) was very good at helping me and my wife find a vehicle that we liked a lot . The passenger side seat electrical to move seat up and down f man (tony) was very good at helping me and my wife find a vehicle that we liked a lot . The passenger side seat electrical to move seat up and down forward and backwards did not work . Tony said no problem they would replace the seat no problem. He even wrote a work order and gave me a copy. So far so good. My bank had pre-approved my loan so Cassie just had to fill out his paperwork and easy sale. he also had said that the vehicle had passed state inspection done by there automotive shop and sold me a warranty for. $ 5.000 and said it covered everything with the no cost out of my pocket. On the way home the brakes started getting bad and stopped working almost completely. They towed it back to mountain top motors Front passenger side brake cylinder had to be replaced. (But they said vehicle passed inspection. ) when they picked up the vehicle they said my seat was at there shop and would be installed also. The seat they put in still does not work properly . Now the automotive department said they paid $700.00 for a new seat and they were not replaceing it again . It still don't work now it works forward and backwards but still does not go up and down. The engine had a a misfire which I told Tony about it he sent me to there shop in Moscow mills, they said it would be $240.00 to change the spark plugs and that the warranty did not cover it.so much for the warranty. Ii am getting my vehicle reinspected and will also be reporting them to state because of the brakes, they could have killed us. BE VERY CAREFUL BUYING A CAR FROM THEM!!! . My advice have any vehicle you get at Mountain top motors in troy mo. Inspected somewhere with better and more reliable mechanics, alsomake sure anything that needs to be fixed is done before it leaves the lot . DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! More
