As usual motorwerks provided exceptional service. I recently had new breaks and tires installed. Customer service was amazing, consistent updates, coordinating a Uber back and forth for pick up, and I recently had new breaks and tires installed. Service dept tried to to overcharge me for unnecessary maintenance. I was also charged 3% extra of paying with my credit card. It's ridiculous maintenance. I was also charged 3% extra of paying with my credit card. It's ridiculous More
Very disappointed for the 3% fee you are charged if you do not pay by cash or debit. We already pay for the increased fees in the service to come there, now you charge a fee for paying by credit card. I w do not pay by cash or debit. Not sure if I will be back for any service due to this issue. Other than this, service is good. More
I have never complained about a business, publicly. Feel free to laugh at my sorrowful tale. I just have to share my experience and hopefully warn others. DO NOT GO TO MOTOR WERKS HONDA IN BARRINGTON!! Feel free to laugh at my sorrowful tale. I just have to share my experience and hopefully warn others. DO NOT GO TO MOTOR WERKS HONDA IN BARRINGTON!!! I went in for an oil change and tire rotation for an 11:15 AM appointment. I didn’t get out of there until 1:45 PM. That’s two and a half hours. At around 12:30 I ask for an update and they tell me that the service should be done soon. I wait another 45 minutes. I walk back there and I can see the technician is just beginning the service. At that point, the rep. informs me that they’ll be closing soon and asked me if I want a loaner. FOR AN OIL CHANGE!!! The first time driving my car after the oil change, I hear metallic pinging from underneath my car. I pull over and look underneath and one of the metal retaining bolts for the skid plate is missing, the other is hanging on by a couple threads. I can also see that at least one other retaining clip was missing as well. I called Motor Werks Honda. They tell me they will pick up my car to replace the bolts and leave me a loaner. Fine, except they show up to pick up my car with no loaner. It’s a comedy of errors, but I was furious. I needed the loaner. Then I get a call from the rep. He tells me that the bolt broke off and was missing because I must have hit something and that the bolts were secured by the tech. That is a complete impossibility. I drove straight home and the bolt flew off while I was driving on a flat road the very next time I drove the car. I would know if I hit something. It would have to have been 8 inches tall!!!!! Maybe something happened when they were in possession of my car. I don’t know. Maybe the tech floored it over a speed bump or scraped the front bumper over a parking stop. All I know is, I didn’t hit anything and I don’t appreciate being told that I did. The remaining bolt that didn’t fall out was loose. So, they’re telling me that I hit something, a bolt got ripped out and the other bolt didn’t get ripped out, it just loosened itself. Give me a break. I get my car back. I look underneath to find a completely rusted bolt in place of the one that was missing. They didn’t even replace it with a new bolt. As if that wasn’t enough, I can see that another retainer clip is still loose and I can remove it with my hand. This place is a joke. At the end of everything the service manager literally said, “I’m sorry for the sh*tty experience” and told me there was nothing he could do. If you go to Motor Werks Honda, you are gambling with your car and potentially your mental health. Do you really want to have to crawl under the car every time you get an oil change to make sure the bolts you drove in with are still there, only to find out they’re not? Do you want to risk wasting two and half hours of your day for a service that should, at most, take 30 minutes if you show up at or before your appointed time? Do you want to be left stranded, expecting a loaner that never shows up? If those things sound appealing to you, then you know where to go; Motor Werks Honda in Barrington! I am redoing my review, as these guys have went ABOVE and BEYOND their services with me as a distant customer. Much more than any other typical dealership would! Back in March 2021 I spoke to a gentlemen BEYOND their services with me as a distant customer. Much more than any other typical dealership would! Back in March 2021 I spoke to a gentlemen named Rad about a Mercedes Benz GLA45 that I was highly interested in. I live in STL so I was at a distance when purchasing this car. I ended up buying the vehicle and was told I would have within a month or so after the vehicle has made its check out with their inspections etc. First issue they helped fix: During transit to their dealership, they received the car with the spoiler ripped off the vehicle. Causing damage to the car that had me wait longer to receive the car, this was out of their control, and their services were great as they compensated me with a rental here in STL since I was out a car (my previous vehicle was totaled out) so I needed something to drive. I appreciated Geno for covering those costs for me! They still ended up having to send me the vehicle without a spoiler attached due to parts they were waiting on. But over-nighted everything as soon as it reached their facility. Car's spoiler is in perfect condition now and looks flawless. Second issue they have helped fix and solve: Once I finally had the spoiler issue solved and the car was in my possession I took the vehicle to my local dealership to have it pass Missouri Emissions. It Failed. The ECU read that their was issues with the catalytic converter programming error. Even though it was all in tact and the catalytic converter was installed. The local dealership ended up flashing the ECU, this unleashed multiple thrown codes, which now made the vehicle undrivable. Boost error codes, throttle error codes, etc. The car is drivable but will need a retune. The dealership has reached back out and have agreed to pay 90% of the tuning fee's to get the vehicle back to spec and legal to drive in the state of Missouri. Very grateful to be treated as a valuable customer, these guys have done an excellent job to go above and beyond to find a solution to help with this vehicle purchase. THANK YOU!! A+ More
