Even if you book an appointment for first thing in the morning, be prepared for a long wait. It’s disturbing the amount of GMC vehicles that are in need of repair. The electrical department is consistently booking at least two weeks out and will most likely keep your vehicle for at least week. During that time, it will sit for days before they get to it. If you need a loaner…good luck. Because of the high amounts of vehicles being serviced, there aren’t loaners available most of the time. DO NOT RENT YOUR ON CAR! My “advisor” told me I could rent a car and my warranty would cover it. What he failed to mention was the all the catch 22s involved. I turned it my receipts to my “advisor” and for 2 MONTHS he lied about submitting my reimbursements. He even went as far as to place follow up calls to me regarding the status KNOWING he never submitted anything. I finally went to the stealership to find out what was going on and that’s when I learned that he hadn’t done anything. The clerk then told me that I would likely get a fraction of what I paid out but to call GM for a better resolution. GM informed me that they won’t take action because the reimbursements are past 30 days. I called and left a message for the COO and GM and never received a call back. GM has filed a dealer complaint and they still haven’t responded. I’d never buy another vehicle that has to be serviced by this dealership! More
Was charged $300 to clear a code that took them less than 20 mins. Then they claimed to have changed a glow plug charging me almost $400. However, the used part they gave me (checked the part #) went to a 20 20 mins. Then they claimed to have changed a glow plug charging me almost $400. However, the used part they gave me (checked the part #) went to a 2017 GMC and did not fit my 2015. Suspicious, I pulled out ALL the glow plugs and it was obvious that not a single glow plug was actually replaced. I have reported them to the Bureau of Automotive Repair. More
Love my GMC truck but loathe having to take it in to Motor City GMC for service. Every service writer has been very personable in the 15 years I have been buying GMC trucks. Sadly, per an unnamed service advisor Motor City understaffs the number of diesel mechanics they employ which causes delays in warranty service. I am ok with waiting the month or so to get in for service but will never be ok with the vehicle then sitting for 3-4 days if not longer before they get around to servicing the vehicle. You would think if the focus really was on customer service they would make sure that on the day "they" schedule the vehicle to come in they would be prepared to begin servicing the vehicle. Currently Motor City over books the diesel appointments in the service department which only ensures delays and higher ratings. More
Motor city was able to do the repairs on my 2003 H2 Hummer , but the cost was expensive, so if you are ready to spend about twice as much as an independent shop , Motor city is your place Hummer , but the cost was expensive, so if you are ready to spend about twice as much as an independent shop , Motor city is your place More
Not dealers fault that GM has not responded well to Covid lack of parts, strikes and obvious problems associated with the above. Warranty work took over 3.5 months to complete, this is ridiculous as they lack of parts, strikes and obvious problems associated with the above.
