Completely shady. Car was total junk Bring your business elsewhere folks. This dealership, more precisely the owner Gary McGilvray, is the epitome of a smarmy car dealer. He's all about y Bring your business elsewhere folks. This dealership, more precisely the owner Gary McGilvray, is the epitome of a smarmy car dealer. He's all about you when he wants your money (My purchase was a cash/trade-in combo) but the instant there is a problem....crickets. First of all, the car was.delivered to me with a dead empty gas tank and bad tires. When I test drove it I was only going maybe 35-40 mph so I didn't catch that the tires were SO BAD they made the whole car shake. I could barely hold onto the steering wheel. I called them on it and they replaced the front tires with more junk tires. One makes the car shake.and the other loses air and need a to be be inflated 2 to 3 times a week to keep it off the rim. Btw, the passed the original bad tires on the inspection. REALLY?!? 2 months after owning it I am driving and the muffler falls off, nearly causing an accident. I tried calling Gary at his NH and MA business locations multiple times and never received a call back. Shortly after lossing the muffler the check engine and airbag warning lights came on. Now it basically sits and gets moved around my parking lot or down the road to fill the tires every couple of days. I am afraid of putting my kids in an obviously unsafe car that they just slapped an inspection sticker on. Save your money and go to a better, more reputable dealer. More

So many lies, almost ruined car transmission - over charged On December 26th, I brought my SUV that i bought at Motor City in Rochester to their service garage. A few days earlier, I had received a text from J On December 26th, I brought my SUV that i bought at Motor City in Rochester to their service garage. A few days earlier, I had received a text from Jeremy, the Service Manager, saying they could do my inspection for $10. (Still have the text). I had brought my SUV to the Dodge dealer on the 26th for recalls. They told me that my transmission fluid stunk and needed to be replaced, with a couple other small things. I told them I would call back to schedule a time. I then went to see Jeremy to get my inspection sticker. He told me it was $30, and the text was $10 off, even though that's not what he said (still have text). I asked him if they changed transmission fluids, he said If i left him good reviews on sites, he would do the transmission filter and oil for free. (yes, for free!). I was pumped. Left positive reviews on every site i could. He also said he got $5 for a positive review, so I was happy to help. A short time later, the mechanic came out and said there was a leak with the cooler assembly. I asked Jeremy if thats the same as the thermostat that the Dodge dealer said I needed to replace, he said yes. So, I said go ahead. He said it would be a short time and it would be all set to go. I was there almost 4 hours. I understood they needed to order parts, etc. Nothing is said until the end and Jeremy came over and said he had to do some magic with the numbers. Instead of charging me $10 for the inspection that he said he meant $10 off so it would be $30, now it was $32.50 as they used more transmission fluid then he thought (remember this, as its a huge piece towards the integrity issue later). He then told me they did the transmission flush and changed the filter, but he didnt realize how much it would be, so he had to charge me for some of the fluid and gave me the filter so the numbers would allign for his boss (again, remember this!). He then said he charged me $84.50 for 1.3 hours labor which is half price because I bought the car there. So, i get the bill for $172.22 after being told the part was cheap and it quick to put in. I see the inspection is more then quoted, I see the 1.3 hours labor which I was told the part was quick and easy to do and now I was charged for the transmission fluid. Then he tells me that my vehicle didnt actually pass inspection, the machine said the computer was cleared out prior to coming and he couldnt get the computer to read it. I told him the Dodge dealer did service work and it may have reset it. I was confused but he told me to drive it and then come back and they will retest it. Well, about an hour after I left, I noticed it wasn't shifting right and seemed really odd. We thought maybe the old transmission oil was still built up. It got worse so my wife called and asked when we could drop it off. It was scheduled for Friday January 12th. She spoke to them and said how bad it was driving and not shifting. They said to have it there Thursday night and they would look first thing Friday morning. So, we dropped it off Thursday night around 8pm. There was a mechanic there who watched us drop it off. Well, we waited until almost noon on the 12th and after not hearing how it was going, my wife called. They said they were confused why it was there, no one knew! She explained everything again and gave them the number she had called to schedule it, which is their number. No communications! The car sat there until noon before anyone realized, even though the keys with our contact info was left in the drop box and we SCHEDULED it to be there. Late Friday, we called them at 522 pm asking for an update. They said that the Durango was all set and they couldnt find anything wrong with it. (A side note: The car has a dash cam that anytime there is motion in the car or the car drives, it records for up to 10 minutes after the car is turned off). So we saw what they did on the 13th.So, we went and picked it up. As we were leaving to turn onto 125, the car would not even move. It wouldnt shift at all. We finally got it home in 1st and second gears and called this morning. My wife couldnt get it to go more then 10 MPH to get it to the dealer as it wouldnt shift. Then, she gets it there. The mechanic takes it for a drive and confirms its not shifting. He said the transmission may be low based on the codes off the check engine light that was now on. So, rewind to 12/26, two short weeks prior. We paid for transmission oil service even after the service manager told us it would be no charge if we left positive reviews. So we tell the mechanic that he just changed it and filled it. He said he never did that, he filled the power steering only. So i gently reminded the service manager Jeremy and he confirmed, in front of other people, that he said that and that they did the service. He then went with the mechanic to the garage to talk. He come back and tells my wife that he misunderstood the work done before and even though he told us that he did it, it wasnt actually done and he could do it today for about $150 more. WHAT!! First we were told it would be free for going on multiple sites to leave positive comments, and then we were charged anyway. Then we had to park the car on several occassions we needed the 7 seats for our 7 family members because it couldnt drive it as it wont shift, and now for $150 more he will do what we paid for the first time? He then said he used the transmission fluid in the transmission cooler assembly he replaced. The parts like $36 and according to sites online, should take about 25 minutes to replace by a novice. I got billed 1.3 hours $84.50 for this. The car had sat on the 26th awaiting the parts, I know this as I was sitting there. So, today the mechanic does the transmission oil change and apologizes. He said the many miscommunications shouldnt have happened. I really liked the mechanic and he owned up to the mistakes and apologized. He then said he thought we were all set. So, we go to leave, and Jeremy asks if we want to pay cash or card. $118 for more transmission fluid and kit (which he said was free) and more labor! The lobby had a bunch of people so I wasnt going to cause a scene, but I will make sure everyone knows how they lied every step of the way. $300 later and not having a running car for 2 weeks, and all it took was what they said they did and billed me for during the1st visit! Don't always follow reviews, as I have now found out that companies pay their employees to leave positive comments and that they will lie to get them. Contact the Better Business Bureau if you have bad experiences. Jeremy lied about the cost of the inspection sticker. Get the word out in every platform. I texted Justin, who has been texting me since before Day 1, to say I was concerned and I wanted to talk about the costs and what happened, now that its paid, NO RESPONSE! Above all, I am the most upset that after being told they did something, my wife and my 5 children were in that car when it would loose power or not shift on the highway and they were stranded on the side. Its so frustrating, but at least Jeremy got his $5 for every positive review left! More
