My Onstar service diagnostics reported that an engine service light is on and needs attention. I went to a local car repair shop to see if they could help with that and was told by them that the engine l service light is on and needs attention. I went to a local car repair shop to see if they could help with that and was told by them that the engine light diagnostics is reporting that an EVAP (evaporator-emissions vent system performance is failing. The repair shop said that there is a couple of emissions parts that may have failed and that the car is still under warranty until 2026. My car is a Chevy Trax 2016. They also said that GM will check and will install the part and that I will not have to pay anything for the part because still covered until 2026. So I took the car to Moran Chevrolet on 09-27-2024. The Service Advisor-Matt Burke told me that they will run diagnostic check and if part is covered under warranty then no charge but if not then there ill be a charge of $210.00. I had to leave my car there the whole entire day to have the work done. At the end of the day at 5:30pm I get a call from Matt Burke stating that the part cost $279 and the labor cost $671= $940.99. I was overwhelmed by the massive cost for this service done today!!! Not happy! Very upset! I also confronted the Service Manager afterwards of the HUGE price gouge of the labor. This car with the under 60,0 miles and still 2 years under the 10 year warranty period should not have to pay that kind of cost for this issue. 3 times the cost of the part just for labor...ridiculous! neither the service advisor or the Service manager is willing to negotiate any price change difference. I am still waiting to hear from the Manager of the Dealership. I would like a discount of $200.00 inflated labor charge. I am also placing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the State of Michigan Attorney General Office for price gouging. More
I used to come to this dealership all the time for service and oil changes until what happened the past two weeks. I called them on Feb 7 to get in because my car was losing oil and I had this same is service and oil changes until what happened the past two weeks. I called them on Feb 7 to get in because my car was losing oil and I had this same issue before and they fixed it. So when I talked to Tom they said they would have it looked at and done in 2-3 weeks. So I get it towed there and 5 days later I still heard nothing from them, so I called and asked what’s going on. They said they are all so behind, but will let me know by Feb 19th. Then Feb 19th comes and nothing. I call back the following week because I still heard nothing and Tom said there are STILL over a dozen cars in front of me. So at this point I call other places and of course someone else could get me in. So the following day Feb 24 I call back and Tom tells me all of a sudden they can look at it. Funny because it’s been in your parking lot for 2 1/2 weeks and now you can look at it once I tell you Im leaving? So whatever I have them look at it and it’s the same issue they fixed 33,000 miles ago. But this time to fix it it’s double the price! They tell me it’s not under warranty which in 2020 they told me it would be. To me that’s an installment issue. It’s a 2017 equinox and you guys clearly didn’t do a good job if it only lasted that long. Obviously I got a better quote from a different shop so I told him no and then Tom processed to tell me I owe $100 for them to look at it, and says I’m giving you a discount. A discount? YOU GUYS DID NOTHING. I had no car for two weeks and NO INFORMATION. I will never come back here and I would tell others to not to come here because clearly I WASN’T a top priority and they just want your money. More
I got hit in my drivers front tire. I told Moran to call me when all of the parts were in, so i could drop my truck off. When my truck was getting repaired they told me they were have trouble finding a part me when all of the parts were in, so i could drop my truck off. When my truck was getting repaired they told me they were have trouble finding a part (which should have been there). I told the repair man it’s not turning right. They gave me the truck back anyway. I noted on the receipt that “I was not happy with the repairs”. I had to come out of pocket to replace the rack and pinion. Repair man told me today “they never even put it on a rack to look under it”. If they did there job right they would have seen the rack and pinion was clearly cracked and separated all the way around. Repair guys name is Rocky. I’m so freaking pissed with Moran. To me they wanted to do a quick in and out job. The truck is cosmetically fine. But drove awful, I showed Rocky in the parking lot before I left. He acknowledged “something’s not right, we narrowed it down to the rack and pinion”. But they never even looked at it. They told me “yeah we hear the noise and it’s an internal problem”. Which was another lie they told me. DO NOT GO HERE FOR REPAIRS. AAA TOLD ME ITS A “TRUSTED REPAIR SHOP”. It’s been months and I’m still dealing we this crap. I wasn’t hours and hours of my time. Came out of my pocket. All for something so obvious it see. I wish I could post a picture of the back rack and pinion. They gave me back an unsafe vehicle!! Again the contact that worked on my truck was ROCKY. His name was Rocky. More
