Great dealership and great salesman, Eryk Rippenhagen Eryk, you are the greatest. Being a female over 70 is an unlikely candidate for the Mazda Miata Convertible but what a fun car. Thanks for all of yo Eryk, you are the greatest. Being a female over 70 is an unlikely candidate for the Mazda Miata Convertible but what a fun car. I wanted to purchase it out there so that I may drive back home with her to California and have a mother daughter road trip. My husband thought I was crazy to purchase a car 2400 miles away and I didn't think it would be possible either until I spoke to Eryk Rippenhagen, Internet Manager of Dick Shirley Chevrolet Cadillac Mazda Mitsubishi Dealer. I first went through True Car Value website which connected me to several dealership around Piedmont Triad Area. After speaking to several dealers Eryk was the only one who followed up on what he said he was going to do. I appreciate his honesty in informing me the pros and cons of purchasing a car out there and his patience in answering all my questions. He was very diligent in finding the car I wanted which was the Mazda Grand Touring CX5. After I decided to purchase the car, the whole process happened within a week. And when the car was ready, he arranged for my daughter to be picked up at her university so she may drive off with my new car. My daughter said that Eryk and the dealer staff were so friendly and accommodating and detailed in going over the car with her. I never thought it would be this easy to purchase a car from across the country. I'm just so grateful to Eryk and Dick Shirley Dealership for the no nonsense, no haggle, no bait and switch sales pitch practices that most dealers are known for. They definitely earned my trust. I have to add, two weeks after we purchased the car I was having trouble transferring the registration to California since the car was still in N.C. So I called Eryk and asked him if he can help us. Since he wasn't sure what the laws were with out of state registration he connected me to their Title and Registration expert Ken Hopkins. Their willingness to help even after the transaction is over shows their professionalism and that they truly care about their customer. The vehicle brand purchased did not have Mazda as one of the brand in the list. I purchased a new Grand Touring Mazda CX5. More

During that time, I purchased many cars at different dealerships, but have NEVER returned to the same dealership to purchase a second vehicle, let alone return to the same salesman as the buying experience is generally too painful. Two years ago I was looking for a quality small car with decent gas mileage, and decided on a Mazda 3 hatchback, to be used primarily by our daughter, a H.S. Senior. After visiting several different dealership in the Chapel Hill / Raleigh-Durham area and trying to negotiate a "deal" on the internet, I was contacted by Eryk Rippenhagen at Dick Shirley Mazda in Burlington. I thought Burlington was a little too far to go, but decided to check it out. Eryk offered me a great deal, and didn't try any typical sales / dealership "games." In fact, after meeting him to finalize the sale, I found he was a real gentleman, and really did want to provide a positive car buying experience, yet he was willing to negotiate fairly. A year later I was in the market for a Chevy Suburban. Again, I did my research, compared dealerships, but found myself going back to Eryk, where I purchased a 2013 from Dick Shirley Chevrolet. Finally, I was looking for a car for my wife, and decided on a 2014 Mazda 6. Back to Eryk for a THIRD time. Who says you can't have a good car buying experience, and someone who treats you fairly. In fact, all of the people I have come into contact with at Dick Shirley Mazda, to include several other sales personnel, as well as the service department, have been most helpful. Like I always tell my kids NEVER, say NEVER! More
Fits That Stereotype of "Sleazy Dealer" Horrible experience. Had to do credit pull before could even test drive the car. Refused to negotiate with female buyer. Talked down to and had my intelligence insulted every step of the way by Eryk Rippenhagen - he's got a bad attitude and is extremely argumentative, despite the fact that his information is often inaccurate. Ask around Burlington and especially at Cox Toyota where he used to work - he's got a horrible reputation for being a know-it-all and for having problems with customers. Outright LIED about Mazda's ratings on reliability, value, et cetera. He barely knew anything about the Mazda brand at all, but just assumed I was uninformed so he told any old lie he could think of. Bought a car from them 16 years ago - back when they had real salesmen. Now there's just a bunch of kids working there who haven't got a clue how to build relationships with their customers or sells cars for the long-term. I guess the Mazda building is where Dick Shirley Chevy sends their problem employees before letting them go. Stay on your guard. Double check any and all information they give you. And shop around - their prices are high. -Yep, It's Me More
A true Professional, Aaron Hampton. We had been looking for a very specific vehicle for a while. We had saw this one on cars.com, but the dealership was about 11 hours away. Aaron was very prompt to answer for a very specific vehicle for a while. We had saw this one on cars.com, but the dealership was about 11 hours away. Aaron was very prompt to answer our request, and answer every question we had, and we had alot. He was very patient, not pushy at all, and very professional. We worked the deal out on the phone and by email. I thought to myself that something will come up, and I hate surprises, after we drive all the way down there. But it never happened. It was perfect, everything was perfect. The dealership was very clean and well kept, and everyone was so friendly, like we had been there before. I have bought plenty of cars over the course of my life, but I must say that the experience I recieved from Aaron Hampton at Dick Shirley Chevrolet IS BY FAR THE BEST. Way to go Mr. Hampton, you've left a lasting impression, too bad you are so far way. Thanks, G More
