Mitch Carr is a great Mercedes service center and a great auto repair shop overall. I wish they worked on other cars so I could take all my cars to him. There service team from mechanics to shop manager (H auto repair shop overall. I wish they worked on other cars so I could take all my cars to him. There service team from mechanics to shop manager (Hal), and to Mr. Carr himself are great people and make you feel welcome in the shop. They do not upsell you on parts you do not need, and if you bring in your own parts (new) they do not give you a hard time about installing them. They provide you with a price before doing any work, but most importantly THAT is the final price you pay. There is no surprise shop fees, EPA disposal fees, or any other shenanigans that up the price at the last minute when you go to pay your bill. Most importantly, they FIX the problem. I have an older Mercedes 420SEL and they have always properly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. No going back for the same problem. Also, they work clean. (What I mean is there are no missing bolts, clips, or other pieces when the work is done that happened with another shop much closer to me on Lee Highway in Arlington that left off parts and didn't do all the work that I asked). Again, Mitch Carr does very clean and detailed mechanical work, very impressed--and for a very fair price, especially for the DMV area. Yes, I travel almost an hour to get to Mitch Carr because they are that good. They have a metro service where they pick you up and drop you off directly from the metro should you need it (there is also another station, forget the name, that also takes you to downtown Union Station-much faster than the Metro). Anyway, just wanted to help out my fellow Benz owners. Patrick More
We have a very old 400 SEL we have been taking to Mitch for service. I LOVE these guys. Here's a story for you. My 17 year old daughter had been driving the Mercedes (she has dented every corner) for service. I LOVE these guys. Here's a story for you. My 17 year old daughter had been driving the Mercedes (she has dented every corner) ... I am afraid ours isn't one of "statuesque" older mercedes... anyway, she really damaged the car this particular time, managed to drive into a pole on the way home from school. This is why she is in the huge solid steel mercedes... she could hit just about anything and walk away perfectly okay. However the car was definitely not okay. she had completely knocked in the front corner, the bumper was dragging, etc. I had her take it up to Mitch. Mitch pulled out the damaged front end of the car and got the car so it would run again ... and told us besides body damage (which there was plenty of)... it was fine. He did this at no charge. Apparently my daughter was so upset when she went in there that he felt sorry for her.... this is one great car service. More
My family has been going to Mitch's since 1989 even though we have to drive from the Virginia foothills, over an hour away. We've had six or seven different Mercedes since then and have been pleased w though we have to drive from the Virginia foothills, over an hour away. We've had six or seven different Mercedes since then and have been pleased with their service on all of them. Mitch and the guys have always been honest with us about the what was wrong with the car, what should be fixed, and what we shouldn't bother fixing unless we just want to get rid of some cash--which was not often for us. Their pricing is very fair and as one other review mentions, they do not try to squeeze extra dollars out of your wallet with odds and ends. Plus the mechanics are so knowledgeable about every model of Mercedes out there. We owned only 1980's model diesel Mercedes (300D, 300CD, 300TD, 300SD) but whenever we stopped by there were always a wide array of other years and models at the shop that the guys were working on, from the beautiful stately antiques to the newest sleek, computerized cars. As long as we have at least one Mercedes we will never go anywhere else. It will be a sad day when we do sell the last car because all the guys at Mitch's are so friendly, honest, and hardworking. Thanks guys for all your help over the years. More
I have been going to this facility for nearly ten years and my parents have been going for almost 20. They treat us like family. I also have a BMW and wish they worked on those. The difference between Mit and my parents have been going for almost 20. They treat us like family. I also have a BMW and wish they worked on those. The difference between Mitch Carr's and where I get my BMW serviced is like day and night. I feel like they are always looking out for me at Mitch's and will always take the time to give me sound advice. They always tell me what may be coming up next time and have been pretty xxxx accurate in their predictions. When I compare my BMW bills with the mercedes bills i am always happy with what they don't charge for. (They "include" a lot). If you guys are reading this keep up the ggod work!!! JB More
I began using Mitch Carr after my 1999 C-230 Kompressor was at the end of its warranty. I have had a complete brake job done. I have had numerous light bulbs replaced at no cost to me. My most recent ex was at the end of its warranty. I have had a complete brake job done. I have had numerous light bulbs replaced at no cost to me. My most recent experience was with an oil change that was done by Jiffy Lube. On week one, I had the oil changed and the filter replaced, thier signature service. At the end of week one, my wife, who drives the car, said that the oil light came on in the car. I checked the oil and it did not register on the dip stick. I drove it to Jiffy Lube and they said that the head gasket was leaking. I took it to Mitch Carrs and he indicated that the filter housing must be loosened to change the filter and that Jiffy Lube never tighthened after replacing the filter and oil blew all over the engine and under the car. Mitch apologized for having to charge me $49.00 to correct the problem. I was glad to pay rather than replace an entire engine. All future oil changes will be done by Mitch Carrs. More
