poor service but better management! I made an appointment for 2013 avalon drivers side seatback replacement. Apparently theres even a recall on this item. As i checked in, i was told I made an appointment for 2013 avalon drivers side seatback replacement. Apparently theres even a recall on this item. As i checked in, i was told that they dont know if the parts department has the item. And it would take at least an hour to let me know if the necessary part is even available. A recalled parts that i made an appointment for a week ago.... hmmmm. They cant make sure that the part is available before i come in? Is it perfectly ok for me to sit here for more than an hour to find out that i have to come back? If this were more complicated mechanical problem, i would understand that the technician has to diagnose but this is a replacement of a plastic part thats already been recalled due to poor manufacturing by a cheap supplier. In the end, everything was done in an hour. I also received a call from the director of service who explained that the customer rep had been retrained. And the dealership would not make the appointment unless the parts were available already. That made me feel much better about the whole experience. More
