Wow! Words can’t begin to express my appreciation and gratitude for Assistant Service Manager Seth Nortey and the service department. Took my daughter’s car into a local national tire and brake chain for a tire rotation and oil change, what a mistake. They completely botched the oil change causing the low oil pressure indicator to illuminate. I explained that my daughter had to travel approximately 400 miles for a 13 week work assignment. Mr. Nortey spang into action and got her vehicle serviced and repaired and she was able to “get on the road” Again thanks Seth for your outstanding professionalism and superb commitment to customer service!!! More
My experience with Midlands Volkswagen of Columbia Service department is unfortunately poor. When I took my daughters car in for "squeaky" brakes and after they did a full inspection of all brake Service department is unfortunately poor. When I took my daughters car in for "squeaky" brakes and after they did a full inspection of all brakes, they determined the brake vacuum pump and the front brakes & rotors need to be replaced. Total cost: $2530.73 (paid on 3/1/24). When my daughter picked up the car after completion of the above, the same squeaky sound from the brakes was still present. When my daughter had to take the car back, the service department said the back brakes need to be done. As you can imagine, I was quite upset by this news. When I called them on this, they said the back brakes actually are in good shape but they have rust on them and that they must have "missed this in their initial evaluation". To make matters worse, when I spoke with the Service Manager about a discount on the $2530.73 bill, he said that we were already getting a discount because the job to replace the vacuum pump takes up to 12 hours but they were doing it for 4 hours. To be clear, before I even called the service dept at Midlands, I had already talked with two other dealerships who confirmed the repair was only 4 hours. Slippery & slick selling when you don't fix the job right the first time is NOT how you build trust with your customers. Columbia VW car owners, beware! More
Let me start by saying a few years ago I swore I would never come back here. However, McDaniels is on a two month wait so I called and scheduled an oil change and MIL light issue. The phone pleasantries were nice but what shocked me was all the change in staff once I pulled up. They even had a new set up. I was greeted by Seth who looked up my appointment and took time to hear me out. Before it felt like I was just a number getting pushed through a big system. But today I felt like I was a VIP. Like my car mattered even though it is not new. I try to take care of all of my belongings and he even noticed the cleanliness of my car (Betsy) is her name ;). I got an answer on my issues and received an oil change and I am scheduled to come back next week to look further into other issues I did not even know existed. Betsy and I will only be coming back to Midlands from here on out. Thank you for seeing me Midlands and Seth. More
I have never been treated as special in all the years that I have experienced the “car buying” process. I am absolutely satisfied! Jim Hutson deserves every award that you have to give! I was scheduled for a diagnostic and a key program by Matthew. Only got the key programmed and was told that they will not do the diagnostic on my car because someone else previously worked on and to tak Matthew. Only got the key programmed and was told that they will not do the diagnostic on my car because someone else previously worked on and to take it back to whoever worked on the car because they’d have to repair the repair before they could properly diagnose the car and they won’t go behind someone to fix a problem that’s possibly causing the problem. Funnier thing is I attempted to have the same car serviced here prior to trying to get it repaired and was still turned away with the excuse that my car had never been seen there and because of its age they won’t service it. Extremely disappointed and wouldn’t recommend More
Brandon, the service manager, is rude, disrespectful, and lacks communication with his customers. I took my VW to them after an accident, they had my car for about two weeks or so all they did was an oil cha lacks communication with his customers. The check engine light came on, took it back to them and here I am going to pick it up with the same issues in the same problems from the accident. Nothing was resolved or fixed and I’m very disappointed once again, in the communication or lack there of should I say. So almost a month that Midlands was in possession of my vehicle with not one issue resolved. Very disappointing! More
The service dept is definitely the place to go for all your Car service. Especially their attention to customer service .I will take my VW Tiguan for all my car care . I don’t know where I would be without Ben and his manager. I bought my Jetta from the VW in Florence and it kept shutting off on me. My local dealer could not fit me in so I called and got in same d manager. I bought my Jetta from the VW in Florence and it kept shutting off on me. You'd be better off setting your car on fire. I've been in twice, once for sales and once for service. During the sales meeting, the salesperson kept telling me I shouldn't buy an electric becaus I've been in twice, once for sales and once for service. During the sales meeting, the salesperson kept telling me I shouldn't buy an electric because there's a lithium shortage. For the service appointment, my car was there for three weeks. I called daily for an update and nothing. What an embarassment. More
Had my car at another shop was told I needed thousands of dollars in repairs. Brought it here and found out I was lied to by the other place. Midlands could of taken advantage of me too, but they did not the dollars in repairs. Brought it here and found out I was lied to by the other place. Midlands could of taken advantage of me too, but they did not they were honest upfront and it seem like they actually cared about me. The part I needed instead of being $4000 was $700. I’m back on the road you guys are LIFESAVERS. Being a military wife is sometimes hard as my husband is overseas I did talk to him last night about my experience and we both agreed this is where we will take our cars . You have customers for life now. More
