I strongly advise anyone considering service at Midlands Volkswagen of Columbia to proceed with extreme caution. My experience with this dealership, particularly with their service manager, has been one of Volkswagen of Columbia to proceed with extreme caution. My experience with this dealership, particularly with their service manager, has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing encounters I’ve ever had with a service center. I brought my 2014 Jetta TDI in for a leaking boost pressure pipe and was told it could be turbo-related. I initially declined the repair to confirm the issue myself — only to return shortly after, well within a reasonable timeframe, and ask them to perform all necessary repairs. Instead of doing the job properly, they knowingly replaced emissions components like the DPF while ignoring a failing turbo, which they had already diagnosed. That failure led to a complete breakdown of my vehicle, more expensive repairs, and me being stranded without help from the dealership. What’s worse — the service manager admitted on a recorded call that they knew about the turbo issue but chose not to fix it. They failed to explain the consequences or insist on correcting a known failure, despite my willingness to approve anything that was needed. Their behavior was negligent, misleading, and dismissive, and it directly violated both Volkswagen’s own emissions warranty and federal warranty law. Now I’m pursuing legal action — not just because of what went wrong, but because of how they treated me when I tried to resolve it like a responsible customer. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, do not trust this dealership to handle your vehicle properly. I have all documentation and recordings to back this up and will continue to share my story publicly so others are warned before ending up in the same situation More
I went there to test a vehicle and to see what options for future purchase or lease convenience. Did'nt get to test drive any vehicle because according to Daniel Bowers he didnt have any associates availa for future purchase or lease convenience. Did'nt get to test drive any vehicle because according to Daniel Bowers he didnt have any associates available to assist me, yet there was one trying to make me fill financing papers for about an hour, and when i said i wasn't buying today he no longer had an employee available and that we would need to reschedule for a test drive... a polite way of saying get out of here ...who buys a car without even testing it. I've been a loyal customer of Midlands VW for over ten years, both purchasing and leasing multiple types of vehicles, and my experience today working with Jim and with Chris was the best one by far. Jim w years, both purchasing and leasing multiple types of vehicles, and my experience today working with Jim and with Chris was the best one by far. Jim went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable from start to finish, found exactly what I was hoping for (a gorgeous 2025 Atlas!), and was an advocate for me and the price range I came in aiming for. Chris made the financial and paperwork pieces of the puzzle so easy and was equally as welcoming and accommodating for anything and everything I needed. They both let me be in control of the process (or at least feel like it!) and made sure I walked out the door with everything I wanted. I genuinely can't thank and recommend Jim, Chris, and Midlands VW! More

Seth our advisor was very informative and kept us updated. He also gave useful information to us as well. A children’s play area would be a good addition to the dealership! updated. Took my daughter’s car into a local national tire and brake chain for a tire rotation and oil change, what a mistake. They completely botched the oil change causing the low oil pressure indicator to illuminate. I explained that my daughter had to travel approximately 400 miles for a 13 week work assignment. Mr. Nortey spang into action and got her vehicle serviced and repaired and she was able to “get on the road” Again thanks Seth for your outstanding professionalism and superb commitment to customer service!!! My experience with Midlands Volkswagen of Columbia Service department is unfortunately poor. When I took my daughters car in for "squeaky" brakes and after they did a full inspection of all brake Service department is unfortunately poor. When I took my daughters car in for "squeaky" brakes and after they did a full inspection of all brakes, they determined the brake vacuum pump and the front brakes & rotors need to be replaced. Total cost: $2530.73 (paid on 3/1/24). When my daughter picked up the car after completion of the above, the same squeaky sound from the brakes was still present. When my daughter had to take the car back, the service department said the back brakes need to be done. As you can imagine, I was quite upset by this news. When I called them on this, they said the back brakes actually are in good shape but they have rust on them and that they must have "missed this in their initial evaluation". To make matters worse, when I spoke with the Service Manager about a discount on the $2530.73 bill, he said that we were already getting a discount because the job to replace the vacuum pump takes up to 12 hours but they were doing it for 4 hours. To be clear, before I even called the service dept at Midlands, I had already talked with two other dealerships who confirmed the repair was only 4 hours. Slippery & slick selling when you don't fix the job right the first time is NOT how you build trust with your customers. Columbia VW car owners, beware! More
Leased car review: Thank you Keturah and Joey for your patience, care, and support. This team provided equitable suggestions to my financial budget and credit score. Having just moved to Columbia from NY patience, care, and support. This team provided equitable suggestions to my financial budget and credit score. Having just moved to Columbia from NY with my lease ending in just a few days I didn't have much time. With help from my parents in another state we were able to handle negotiations both in IRL and virtually. It took me three days to make a decision and my day of purchase was on Keturah’s (sales professional ) day off! Her professionalism and strategic engagement only confirmed my decision! Thank you again for a great car and even better service! Can’t wait to see you again on my next service appointment! Thank you VW Columbia! More
