I saw the GMC Terrain on line, their website had good pictures of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The salesman greeted me and drove the car around for me to test drive. They use Carfax, so I pictures of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The salesman greeted me and drove the car around for me to test drive. They use Carfax, so I was able to see the history of the car. The salesmen Doug Bielefeld was nice and didn’t have a high pressure sale pitch. He tried a couple credit unions to get me the best deal. Our (ongoing) Experience My experience with the VEHICLE we purchased from Mid-Towne Auto Center? An utter and complete nightmare. This review is strictly to detail our exper My experience with the VEHICLE we purchased from Mid-Towne Auto Center? An utter and complete nightmare. This review is strictly to detail our experience (and absolute frustration) with the vehicle we purchased in July 2019 from Mid-Towne Auto. As my fiancé and I began to discuss the vehicle after the test drive, we were discussing whether we wanted to make a decision on it, which is about when the sales rep made sure we knew that "another couple was coming to look at this exact vehicle tomorrow." Which, given our indecision, this should've been a red flag, but we THOUGHT it would make a nice family vehicle for us and our 3 children, so we proceeded to discuss the deal with the sales rep. Fast-forward to the next day, and the check engine light comes on. So, I contact the sales rep and inform him of what is going on, and he was very empathetic, and politely said he would come down to my work, pick up the vehicle, provide me with a loaner, and they would correct the issue. Thank you for taking care of the issue, I was impressed with their response in this case. Fast-forward to September 22, 2019, roughly 2 months after purchasing the vehicle, the vehicle simply comes out of gear. After restarting the vehicle, the issue persists, and the vehicle continues to come out of gear. We get the vehicle to a repair shop, and at the same time, I notify the sales rep. that the vehicle that we purchased 2 months prior is having transmission issues, to the extent that the transmission shop informs us that the torque converter cracked and there was a lot of metal in the transmission pan. This was relayed to the sales rep. on September 27th, 2019, hoping that they would understand our issue now having to deal with transmission repairs (which aren't cheap) a mere 2 months after purchasing a vehicle from their lot. Nevertheless, the response I received was that if we could transport the vehicle from the transmission shop in Cincinnati to their shop, they could "save you some money...How much I have no clue..." Which to me was like saying "thanks for playing, here's a coupon to Denny's." Granted, they aren't wrong. The dealership didn't HAVE to do anything (and they didn't), they were not under any obligation at that point, they sold the vehicle, it wasn't their problem anymore. Long story short, on October 15, 2019, after paying $1500 to rebuild the transmission, we receive the vehicle back. Fast-forward to February 2020, while taking our family to a basketball game, the check engine light comes on AGAIN. This time, the code was read for an A/T (automatic transmission) code. The code was generic, so it was cleared and did not come back on for another couple months. Beginning in April, the FCW (Forward Collision Warning) has started to turn off intermittently, and the vehicle's RPMs running at nearly twice what they normally would be. In addition, the vehicle shifting through gears is very harsh. As of May 4th, it’s back in the shop awaiting word what is going on with it THIS time. Granted, the FCW light and harsh transmission shifting could be an issue with the previous transmission repair, the point is, this vehicle has caused nothing but frustration, problems, lost time and money. Two additional issues that are present with the vehicle, is that apparently, the driver’s side front axle boot is torn, which requires replacement, along with the power steering system leaks power steering fluid after each use. The point of this review is that the vehicle we purchased from Mid-Towne Auto has been nothing short of a mechanical nightmare that we were not expecting. Mechanically, this vehicle has cost $2100 in repairs, and that does not include the cost to replace the driver’s side front axle, repairing the power steering leak, or what is wrong with the transmission this time. Not many people would expect to start shelling out thousands of dollars inside 1 year of purchasing a vehicle. More

Due to some pre arranged trips we could not act quickly. Doug assured us that all would be well. And it was. How often do you get that kind of service from a used car lot? Only once......here!!! Maybe twice when I return to find another car that I want. I do recommend Mid Towne for frustration free car hunting. More
