I dropped off my car, Saturday, May 10th, for the replacement of a CAM shaft which was covered under the extended warranty program, with the understanding I was going to be given a loaner as soon as replacement of a CAM shaft which was covered under the extended warranty program, with the understanding I was going to be given a loaner as soon as one was available. I was not put on the loaner list immediately, due to a miscommunication, and on May 28th, I picked up a loaner car that STUNK like smoke. I was told by the service manager, Ray, that the car was checked out before it was given to me, that it should be fine, and when they had another car available for me, I would be notified. UNACCEPTABLE! I went there two days later, May 30, and was given another loaner car. A jeep Rubicon. Ok. Never drove one of those before, but, again, ok. Happy to have a car that didn't reek of smoke, I drove off. Now, you have to understand that at 57 years old, I am very able, but a jeep Rubicon does not really go with my lifestyle. I have friends who have issues with such a high car. I actually brought a stool for one of them to get in! And, you know how the back opens? Well, I was born with a physical difference of my arms that does not allow me to have a good overhead reach. When the upper part of that back window is in the open position, I can't reach to pull it down. So, if I go to say, the BJs or grocery shopping for my family, I have to push and pull the packages out of the back with only the bottom half of the space accessible. Hmmm.... (I only found out all this later.) I never said anything after the fact, fearful of stating the obvious to the head of the service department, and not wanting to be that "annoying customer who isn't satisfied no matter what." On Monday, June 2nd, I was called by the dealership and was told I needed to exchange loaner cars. because the "something" was due on the one I was driving and the car needed to be put on the showroom floor for sale. Now mind you, has there been any progress on the part for my car? NO! Still waiting for it to arrive! When I called at the end of the week to see what was happening with the part , I was told that I, myself, could contact customer care to have my request expedited. I did. I spoke with Jay on Friday, and on Monday, I received an email that the part was on its way. By calling customer service I was able to solve a problem in only two days that the dealer itself couldn't resolve for almost a month. Again, I find this UNACCEPTABLE. On Friday, June 27th, I’m told that my car is ready, can I pick it up in a few hours, and by the way, I need new rear brakes and rotors for about $1,300 because my car was making a thumping noise. My car wasn’t making a thumping noise when I brought it in!! Ray said he would do it for about $1,200 as a courtesy of good faith because of all the inconveniences I experienced. Needless to say, I chose not to have my car repaired there. So, I go to the dealership, a few days later, finally ready to get my car, and the same indicator light that was on when I brought my car in, lit up when I started up the car for a test drive. They said they needed to replace a small battery that died because the car had sat for an extended period of time without being started. I’ve now been waiting about 45 minutes and still haven’t gotten my car back to even test drive yet. Shortly after, the car was ready, the test drive passed my approval and I was able to drive away in my own, comfortable car. More
Great experience so far, everyone was professional, efficient, and polite. I enjoyed going to this dealership without feeling any pressure with my decisions. Service was good overall, service was understanding with trying to accomplish my needs before leaving on vacation and returned the truck on time. Only concern was that the part replaced may not be the probl trying to accomplish my needs before leaving on vacation and returned the truck on time. Super helpful and patient, not pushy. Bought a used 2021 1500 Ram Laramie. Didn’t try to oversell us anything which we appreciated. Bought a used 2021 1500 Ram Laramie. Didn’t try to oversell us anything which we appreciated. More
I don’t typically write reviews, good or bad, but after nearly three years of ongoing issues and poor treatment, I feel compelled to share my experience with Merrick Jeep. My situation began with a misl nearly three years of ongoing issues and poor treatment, I feel compelled to share my experience with Merrick Jeep. My situation began with a misleading sales experience. I was scammed into a Jeep Rubicon Extreme Recon by a salesman who was fired before I even took delivery of the vehicle. Despite the dealership’s knowledge of his misconduct, they refused to offer any compensation or resolution. From day one, the vehicle had several manufacturing defects — most notably, bubbling and flaking exterior paint. Over the years, I brought the Jeep back numerous times for this and other issues, including: • Rear subwoofer producing excessive rattling • Tiny chips in the windshield • A nearly detached lug nut on the passenger rear wheel • Loose undercarriage components (still unresolved due to constant excuses) Each visit became more frustrating than the last. At one point, the Jeep was in their possession for two weeks, during which time several personal items were stolen — including cupholder inserts, my good luck charm on the shifters, and $100 in cash hidden in the center console. While they did reimburse me for the cash, the violation of trust was significant. Unfortunately, every time the vehicle went in for repairs, it came back with new problems: • Steering wheel was ripped • Clear coat was burned and swirl marks left throughout the paint from poor buffing • Interior damage to the steering wheel during a repair attempt • Scratches and paint chips all over the exterior • Wax residue permanently damaged rubber seals and black ABS trim Despite the extensive damage caused while in their care, Merrick Jeep has continually deflected responsibility. They’ve repeatedly delayed action, made excuses, and provided misleading or inconsistent explanations. Most recently, they held my Jeep for nearly three months and returned it in worse condition, offering only a small loaner vehicle that didn’t come close to the value of my lease payments. I’ve now had the vehicle for three years and it has only 16,000 miles — largely because it’s spent more time with the dealership than with me. The only person at Merrick Jeep who showed genuine concern and professionalism throughout this ordeal was Malcom in the service department. He consistently treated me with respect and did his best to help, though his efforts were clearly limited by the broader dysfunction at the dealership. As a business owner myself, I understand how vital it is to protect your reputation and treat customers with honesty and integrity. Sadly, Merrick Jeep has failed in every regard. I would strongly urge anyone considering doing business with them to think twice and explore other options. More
