Everything went smooth until it came to the financing guy. I was able to do most of the paperwork and credit application online prior to my appointment time. My sales guy was great to work with. He took his time with me with the test drive and going over the features and controls. Then, we waited, nearly 3 hours for the finance guy. If it wasn’t for us being nearly done with the deal and everything else going smoothly, I would’ve walked. I’m shocked with the lack of customer service we have received with the Finance Department. I have escalated my issues 3 levels to the general manager and still no response. I bought a car on 11/28 and traded in a Mercedes with a payment due in 3 days that was already in progress and the finance manager doing the paperwork said no worries you will be refunded. It would have been refunded through Mercedes Financial Services except this agency did not pay the car when I bought the car on 11/28. They requested another payoff amount on 12/9 which was lower since I had already made another payment and the Mercedes Financial Services told me the agency is responsible to refund the money as they paid less than what was on the purchase contract. We also had an extended service warranty in the car we traded in and he said he would take care of it and he never responded to my emails trying to get a status on when we will receive our prorated refund. I have made countless calls, left messages and emails and no response at all. I have never experienced this level of disregard and respect for returning customers. I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2021 Mercedes-Benz S580 from Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek in April 2024, trading in my 2023 EQS. Almost immediately, the vehicle experienced major issues that should never have passed CPO inspection. Later, I discovered undisclosed accident history, which directly conflicted with Mercedes-Benz CPO standards. Throughout this process, the dealership’s General Manager repeatedly contacted me in a manner that was curt, dismissive, and unprofessional, often offering excuses rather than solutions. On several occasions, the clear tone of the conversations suggested an effort to wear me down and make the issue go away, rather than address the facts or take accountability. That experience was deeply disappointing, especially given the expectations of a luxury brand. After months of documentation and persistence, Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) reviewed the case and ultimately agreed to repurchase the vehicle. I am grateful to MBUSA for stepping in and resolving the matter professionally and honorably. While I continue to respect the Mercedes-Benz brand, my experience with this particular dealership fell far short of the integrity, transparency, and customer care one expects when purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. I strongly encourage future buyers to independently verify vehicle history, inspection records, and certification details, regardless of assurances given at the dealership. Accountability matters — especially at this level. More
