In February '23, found an Audi A6 at the dealership. My vehicle had been totaled in an accident. Worked with the dealership long distance from New York. Paul, my salesman, tried to be patient as the insurance company worked out the funds to purchase a new vehicle. Gene Woods, on the other hand, was rude and condescending. Maybe dealing with a woman made him feel superior? Had several communications with him as the paper work had to be faxed to him. He became frustrated as it was tying up the fax/printer. After the documents were successfully emailed, I noticed that I was charged sales tax. As a New York resident, tax is paid at DMV for Illinois vehicle purchases. Left Gene as voicemail regarding the oversight. Had to call him as he hadn't returned my call. When I reached him, he immediately cut me off. He said, "let me explain something to you", like I'm some kind of idiot, no you didn't pay sales tax. I said, look at the bill of sale. He came back and said, yes the girl in the office must of made a mistake. No apology. He said he'd overnight a check. It came the next day minus the overnight fee. Not my mistake. The dealership should have paid the overnight fee. If I have an occasion to do business with the dealership again, I do not want to work with Gene Woods! More
