Her lease was ending and she wanted to either buy her car or lease a new one. She was very excited about coming home with a new car on the phone to me. She came home completely deflated. Her sales person was dismissive and completely unhelpful. She was ready to have a look at Audi at this point. I convinced her to let me send a note to the sales manager, Dave Berry, I sent Dave a very detailed message about her experience and that she really wanted to stay with Mercedes. I thought this would get a response and assured her that things would be fine. I was so very wrong. Two weeks later, still no response...from anyone!!! They sell these machines in numerous places around Southern California. They are all the same cars. It's the dealerships that make the difference. Take my advice and take a pass on Mercedes of South Bay. Buyer beware!! More

A wasted day for a one-hour transaction!! I found the car that I wanted to look at on the internet, and indicated online that I had an interest. Was contacted by salesman (Kevin B.) and set up a time to look at it. (We live in Idaho, were attending a professional meeting in San Diego, and drove to Torrance to look at the car.) I explained to Kevin that I was supposed to pick up a colleague at the airport back in San Diego in mid-afternoon. We arrived at the dealership shortly before noon. Within thirty minutes (at most) we said we wanted the car. We completed the transaction six hours later!!! First, Kevin had to get Person A's approval, then it was Person B that also had to approve it (we were paying the stated price!!) Finally, after about five hours we were introduced to the F&I guy who we told at the outset that we had already wasted far too much time and we were not interested in buying anything else. Still, he spent 45 minutes with us trying to browbeat us into buying something, and we couldn't complete the sale without him signing off on everything! We had visited several dealerships in the San Diego area (many different brands) and we were warmly greeted at each, offered a bottle of water, shown a comfortable waiting room, etc. while we looked over and discussed their inventory. At this place, we were left sitting in the middle of their showroom on hard plastic chairs, (almost as if we were on display: "Look, this is what a couple of suckers look like!!") and finally got a bottle of water when we requested it. (Shortly before we left, I was wandering around the building and came upon the "real" waiting room, with comfortable seating, a TV, etc.) Kevin knew we hadn't had anything for lunch, but kept us hanging around the showroom ("it'll all be done any minute now") well into the dinner hour. He actually went out and got something to eat while we waited! Not a single item on the original terms was changed from the time we made the offer until the time the deal was closed six hours later. I believe that they were hoping to wear us down so we would collapse with the F&I guy and buy something. We kept getting the excuse that they were short on management so it was taking a long time to get things done. I can't believe that any organization could be this rude and inconsiderate by accident! I mean, the whole thing had to be planned in advance to abuse us. When we got to Idaho and tried to title it, nobody at the dealership seemed to have any idea about what had happened and how to get it done (although Kevin assured us that they did sales to out-of-state customers all the time). Fortunately, the Idaho DMV staff took it the extra time and effort required to get them the paperwork so we could get it registered and licensed. To his credit, I guess, Kevin was very friendly and kept in touch (without offering anything of sustenance). Real nice guy. But couldn't get anything done. He did, however, help get the paperwork done and to us so we could register the car in Idaho. To add insult to injury, they offered to pay for the first tank of gas I would buy when the car was delivered (to Idaho) since they couldn't fill it before shipping it. We contacted Kevin, sent him the receipt, he told us that it was being approved and we would get a check soon and....... you guessed it: Nada! I put off printing a review (this will be one of several I hope to be able to post in every place possible on the web) hoping we'd at least get the gas money. Since that hasn't come (we bought the car in January and sent the receipt in in early summer) figured I had nothing to lose. There is absolutely no way I would recommend this dealership to anyone, not even someone I disliked. The lack of service we received and the hassle they put us through was absolutely unexcusible. The place doesn't even deserve one star, but I figured if I just left it all blank, someone might think we just forgot to do that rating. More

Didn't order my license plates? It's been over two months since I purchased my vehicle and I still have not received license plates yet. Upon contacting the sales rep who assisted me It's been over two months since I purchased my vehicle and I still have not received license plates yet. Upon contacting the sales rep who assisted me with the sale of the car about 8 weeks after date of purchase, I was told that the issue was being escalated to management. Today (77 days after purchase) I receive this email and responded accordingly. It's not my fault that they have to order duplicate plates nor is it my fault that the registration expiration date is approaching in about a month. Bottom line is that I should have had my plates back in January some time. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2015 22:39:00 +0000 Hi Alex, It's nice to know that someone is taking care of this issue after over two months of waiting. My registration IS current. I have the sticker and registration good until 4/2/15. Today is merely February 27th so I'm not sure what you mean by "it expired on 4/2/15" since that date has not come to pass yet. Please apply for new plates ASAP as this is of no fault of my own. I purchased the vehicle on 12/10/14 and to date I still have no received my license plates yet. I did my due diligence at the dealership and paid for license and registration but have only received the registration but no license plates. Just to let you know I bought a car two weeks ago at Tustin Toyota for my parents and already received the plates for that car on Tuesday. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: VILLARREALA1 To: CC: DELAROSAJ1; GottschlingS Subject: plates Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2015 22:34:07 +0000 We will be more than happy to apply for dup plates , however we can not do so until your registration is current.
