Buying a Mercedes, cash in hand, should be fun. First we wrote Sarasota Mercedes/Auto Nation by email. The replies were weak and uninformed. Frustrated, we went in. Nearly every question he responded by saying "I don't know, but I'll find out." We wrote email after email following up. He took days to respond, and sometimes we'd catch him in a lie about what he would deliver. We asked for a test drive, he offered the ugliest car on the lot. He then complained that we made him come in on his day off. While looking at the motor, which he didn't understand, "MH" accused me of already buying the car somewhere else, and said he had an email from me saying so. We hadn't, I never wrote that email. I began to wonder if "MH" was a bit nuts. We decided exactly what we wanted. A brand new car for which we could pay cash in full. He demanded that we pay a large deposit without guaranteeing he could get the car. He promised he could beat any price. We sought a few other bids and told him what they were. He countered with a much higher price. During this time my wife's sister wrote him a single email asking about the same car. He wrote her pages & pages of info, phoned her begging & pleading to do business with him, even looking up other phone numbers to find her. Meanwhile we couldn't get a straight answer to a single question. We complained to his manager, "K". She promised she would make things right. We wondered, 'Would they lower the price? Toss in some accessories?' That day another sales person phoned us. He offered us a deal on a used car that was a different model. This place is irresponsible, does not take care of their customers, and is a bad place to buy a car. Buying a brand new Mercedes should be a great experience and not a headache. If you want a pleasant experience buying a Mercedes, save some money, and go some place else. More
Replaced trunk lid shocks and found a chip on the outside of the trunk when the work was completed. This chip was touched up with paint, however, it did not match! Mr Kordick said that it was not done by any one of his mechanics, it would NEVER happen there without the mechanic telling of this happening. Right! The chip was not there when I brought the car in for service and was never inspected by the service manager, none the less I was told it would never happen there! Never and always are a bit of an exaggeration, as they ALWAYS inspect the car prior to any repairs, wrong! I had an appointment for the repair and told I would have the car back the same day, wrong! This inconvienced my trip, wasted my day and I now need to bring the car back at a later date. I will not set foot in the dealership again and would not recommend this dearler to anyone....buy a chevy!! More
Echoing the other reviews of this dealership, this is probably one of the worst dealerships I have ever dealt with. I purchased a certified pre owned SL500 from them that in the first month had a major t probably one of the worst dealerships I have ever dealt with. I purchased a certified pre owned SL500 from them that in the first month had a major transmission failure and a leak from the convertible top. I am not sure what the "certified" part of their certified pre owned cars means. The sales person went around the car with a paint meter and assured me there was no body work. I traded the car 2 months later and during that process multiple dealers looked at the car and stated there has been extensive paint work. When I discussed that issue with Mr Schenks, the sales manager, I was essentially told that since I wasn't willing to buy another car from them that they could do nothing for me. That same song was repeated by Mr Levinson, the salesperson. One of their Finance managers told me under condition of anonymity that this is an unacceptable deal and that I should fight it. I was just so eager to be done with mercedes of Sarasota that I gladly took a 12,000 loss just to not face the indignity of dealing with them. I have since been fighting to get anyone return my calls as they still owe me 4,000 on a refund for their extended warranty. I am seriously considering legal action. In short if you enjoy getting lied to then be insulted by sleazy hustlers, here's the place for you. I went to Southpointe BMW and never looked back. Avoid Mercedes Benz of Sarasota at all cost More
When this dealer was under the ownership of Glauser they were the best now under Autonation avoid this place. Customers come last they only care about themselves. I had a dangerous transmission problem ther were the best now under Autonation avoid this place. Customers come last they only care about themselves. I had a dangerous transmission problem there was a TSB for they refused to fix as they could not duplicate it even though the TSB stated "if the customer reports". Had the factory rep (who is buddy buddy with the service manager) take a ride & we noticed other problems the tech said he fixed. The dealers reply make another appointment even the the tech lied, he is the one who also claimed he could not duplicate the transmission problem. When autonation took over a lot of takes who went the best for the customer are no longer there. Avoid Mercedes Benz of Sarasota. More
