I would like to give a positive review to Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco but unfortunately I cannot. I am extremely dissapointed with the level of service I received from Mercedes being that we have purcha of San Francisco but unfortunately I cannot. I am extremely dissapointed with the level of service I received from Mercedes being that we have purchased 3, count them... 3 Mercedes from this dealership!! I purchased a certified used 2011 Mercedes from this dealership last year and have had issues with the brakes since the first month I drove the car off of the lot. This is all documented at the dealership. I have had 3 different service locations look at it, Autobahn Mercedes dealership in Belmont, this Mercedes location and a 3rd party that I will not mention. All but the dealership who I bought the vehicle from stated that the wear on the brakes was not normal for a vehicle with 20,000 miles. The brake pads were gone and so were the roters. Not only did Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco refuse to fix the brakes for me, they called everyone else liars and told me my brakes were fine. Let me remind you I bought a CERTIFIED USED vehicle. I ran this up the chain at Mercedes to their General Manager and he even did not care that he would be losing a customer, that they had been dishonest and he refused to pay for new brakes. I will make sure that none of my friends, colleagues, Facebook and Twitter followers never buy a car from this dealership ever again. All over a $500 fix that Mercedes could have made right. To make things worse, Autobahn Mercedes even told me that they would have fixed the issue right away if I had bought my vehicle from them. Long story short, do not buy any used or certified used car from this dealership. You don't have to believe me, there are several other reviews here on Yelp that talk about the same exact thing! They are dishonest and do not care about customer experience, retention or satisfaction. More
Still searching for the correct vehicle and correct dealer to purchase from. I visited MB of San Francisco and Lauren was a pleasure to meet. She was kind, attentive and knowledgeable. She did not have dealer to purchase from. I visited MB of San Francisco and Lauren was a pleasure to meet. She was kind, attentive and knowledgeable. She did not have what I was looking for, and was not expecting it in anytime soon, she is working to prepare a custom order timeframe to see if that will work for me. I never felt uncomfortable, or pressured. She is a respectable salesperson. I am hoping to purchase the new car from her. More
I went to this dealership to lease a new car and although I am new to the US, I have an executive level job and had no problem putting a decent deposit on a car. I was told that 'no problem, they can use my I am new to the US, I have an executive level job and had no problem putting a decent deposit on a car. I was told that 'no problem, they can use my Canadian credit since I have purchased from Mercedes in the past'. After spending 1.5 weeks sending them information / documents and them having no idea what they were doing, they finally asked me to come in and talk details. I wasn't even trying to negotiate on the price of the car. The sales guy treated me terribly this entire time like it was my problem that I didn't have a US credit history. If they had been at all respectful, I would have just paid cash for the entire lease up front. At this point I was really annoyed with how they were treating me. It was as if I had never bought a car before!! I went to BMW, who immediately said they have an international executive lease programme. I immediately gave them everything they required and I picked up a well optioned BMW 135i convertible the next day....they even sourced it from another dealer in that amount of time. Unfortunately Mercedes lost what would have been a customer for life in a few countries and BMW have gained a customer for life. Very impressed with the sales process and any service since then has been just as amazing. I sent a brief email to the sales guy explaining why I went elsewhere and my experience. He didn't even respond to say 'next time'. More
I was looking for CPO vehicles and saw online that this dealership had a few with great price tags on them. Reached there to find out that these vehicles were sold a few days ago. They don't seem to update dealership had a few with great price tags on them. Reached there to find out that these vehicles were sold a few days ago. They don't seem to update their website regularly. But the salesperson and the internet sales manager were courteous enough. They showed me a few of their vehicles kept in a garage a few blocks away. They were pushing hard to sell. I had specific requirements and I clearly told the sales person about it. We left after that. The sales person was thorough and he followed up when a new vehicle showed up that met my rqmts. I was very much interested in it. I did not eventually buy from them as the service folks were pretty slow to complete the cpo process taking more than a week and half. But it was very close to buy that vehicle from them. The good thing about the dealership is that all the MB vehicles are CPO, unlike some other MB dealerships, and they have a wide variety to chose from. The price usually jacks up 2k if CPO, but their prices are pretty competitive. More
My purchase of my ML350 was one of the worst buying experiences I have had since the late 60's. As I think back I should not have bought from this dealership and can promise I will not step foot in tha experiences I have had since the late 60's. As I think back I should not have bought from this dealership and can promise I will not step foot in that dealership again, in fact I will not buy another Mercedes because of thiere sales tactics. I contacted Mercedes Benz of San Francisco about a CPO C230. It had a decent advertised price and most of the options already on it which someone else was nice enough to pay for. So this guy and I are goi C230. It had a decent advertised price and most of the options already on it which someone else was nice enough to pay for. So this guy and I are going back and forth over the phone and he tells me he's gonna send me a form and that he'd like me to fill it out and fax it back. It's a credit app, which I thought was odd since I already told him I was pre-approved with my own lender. I do as he asked and minutes after I fax him the form, he calls me back and says he spoke with my lender. He told me that they told him that they would not finance an "out of state vehicle". Then he offers to do some legwork and work with other lenders on my behalf to find me a suitable loan. I told him by all means... and let me know what he comes up with. So we hang up and I started to get suspicious. I still thought that was quite odd, but I didn't want to believe this guy would lie to me. So while he was off doing whatever it is salesmen do, I decided to call my lender. Told him I have a question for him, but I wanted to be very clear about something before I ask. He told me "go ahead". I said, "I live in Las Vegas and I am considering a car in San Francisco. The salesman said he talked to you and was told that you will not finance an out of state vehicle. Is that true?" He just laughed and said it was not true. Said they would cover any car in any state, so long as the seller had a license to sell cars. We talked for a bit and I thanked him for his time. I hung up the phone and was livid. WTF? It bothered me for a few days. Thought about calling his manager, but then I thought what if it's him that told this guy to lie to me? Now I don't trust the entire dealership. It was a decent experience right up until the point where they lied to me. The car is still there, and I'm still in the market for a nice entry level luxury car. But I just can't get past that. More
I went to this stealership to look at a used vehicle. I was interested in a used E500. I noticed condensation in the rear tail lens. I asked the salesman if this was ever in a collision. He said no. I t was interested in a used E500. I noticed condensation in the rear tail lens. I asked the salesman if this was ever in a collision. He said no. I then noticed black paint on the mullfer and on the weather strip. I told him I was no longer interested in the car, since it had obviously been repainted. He took great offense to this and started yelling at me like I had done something wrong. What happened to the customer is always right? I know from previous experiences that sales people like to judge you from your outward appearance. I know that I am a young professional, but I would also like to be treated with respect. This man was upset, because I am observant and well educated. Suffice it to say, he did not earn my business. I left and purchased a new 5 series BMW 1 mile away. I drove back and told the salesman that he had just lost a sale. If he was nice enough, I might have purchased a brand new E500 from him. I may have been weraing jeans and a T-Shirt that day, but if he had looked close enough, he would have noticed that I was also wearing a $6,000 Panerai Luminor watch. More
I had one of the worst sales experiences at this dealership. I gave the sales woman a $8000 deposit on a silver E430 with the AMG sport package. I filled out the sales forms and was excted about my dealership. I gave the sales woman a $8000 deposit on a silver E430 with the AMG sport package. I filled out the sales forms and was excted about my new purchase. I told her that I wanted to go home and sell my 4runner, since I had 2 buyers lined up already. I also had a yellow Integra type R at the time, which I was contemplating trading in. I had just left the dealership, when my cell phone rang. It was the sales woman calling to tell me that they would not sell me the car unless I gave them an additional $7000 and I traded in my Type R. I thought this was ridiculous. I turned around and went back to the dealership. I marched in and took back my deposit. I told them that they were basically asking for 50% down. I could have walked into a Porsche dealership with an $8000 deposit and drove off in something. I left and told them that they had just lost a sale. They did not seem to care much. They called me the next day saying there had been a mistake with my credit rating. They did not read the report correctly and that is why they asked for more money down. They wanted to know if I was still interested in the car. I told them no, and that they should have informed me of any problems with my credit. I pulled a report and I had a 770 credit score. They thought I had a 570 credit score. I would have cleared this up had they disclosed the problem to me. My wifes uncle told me that he went into Mercedes Benz of San Francisco to purchase an S Class. He stood around for a half an hour, while the sales people ignored him. Finally a new sales associate approached him to see if he had any questions. Her uncle said "I want a silver S Class". They only had an S430 fully loaded in silver. He did not want the navigation unit, but really wanted the silver color. He purchased it on the spot, and wrote a check to pay it off in full. He said he will never buy from them again. He only purchaed it from them to show all of the sales people that they lost a commission, because they did not think an older Asian gentleman cold afford a new Mercedes. More
This is by far the worst experience I have EVER had at a dealership. I sent out a request for quotes from the Costco online buying program for an AMG SLK55. A friendly lady called me and said they had a dealership. I sent out a request for quotes from the Costco online buying program for an AMG SLK55. A friendly lady called me and said they had an SLK55 in stock that I could come up and test drive. She wasn't available on the day my wife and I were able to stop in, so we were handed off to another salesperson. His knowledge of the car was extremely poor, he couldn't even get the DVD Navigation system working. After the test drive he came in with a hard sell tactic, and when we refused to pay $15,000 dollars over MSRP for the vehicle on the spot he flat out called me a liar and told us to get out of the store. I most certainly did not lie and did NOT promise or even begin to imply that I would pay that rediculous price for the vehicle! I sent a letter of complaint to the store manager, and his only reply was that the salesperson followed their guidelines. He backed the guy up 100%. I wound up ordering the car from MB of Oakland as they gave me $1700 off MSRP and treated me extremely nicely. More
Took a brand new (2 days old) CLK to MB Clay Street San Francisco repair facility, with a faulty door lock. Stood next to my vehicle for 5 min. Not one person approached to find out what I wanted. Walked t Francisco repair facility, with a faulty door lock. Stood next to my vehicle for 5 min. Not one person approached to find out what I wanted. Walked to back office. Waited another several min. before one of the two individuals looked up asking what I wanted. After explaining the issue I was told no apointments where available until following week. (In all fairness it is a small facility) Regarding a loaner vehicle the response was a "maybe" at best. <br>Very much got the impression that one had to "know someone" there to get any kind of service. Very unlike the stellar, professional and courtieous service I received at Autobahn Motors MB in Belmont. More
