I wrote the review below the dashed line within a week or so of my Mercedes purchase but am adding the following over 6 weeks from the purchase. Now, 6 weeks after my purchase, I have still not received t so of my Mercedes purchase but am adding the following over 6 weeks from the purchase. Now, 6 weeks after my purchase, I have still not received the necessary paperwork in order to obtain Georgia license plates. I've contacted the dealer several times and they have had to provide a second temporary tag. Last Friday (6 weeks following the purchase) I had the Georgia state/county tag office in Georgia contact them directly. The tag office was referred to someone else (Auto Nation corporate?) who placed the tag office on hold for about 15 minutes. When returning to the line, the person said that they thought the paperwork had been sent on the prior Friday but they could not confirm where it had been sent! I had previously (when my first 30 day temporary tag had expired) provided MB of Orlando with the address and phone number where the paperwork should be sent and also gave them a person's name to contact with any questions. This has turned my very pleasant original experience (with an overall score of 4.8) into one of frustration. I will definitely not return to MB or Orlando (or other Auto Nation affiliates) for an out of state purchase! ============================================= I was recently in the market for a 2012 ML350 and as an Atlanta resident I started my search at local Atlanta dealers. However, I found the salespeople at two of the dealerships to be quite arrogant. I didn't feel comfortable around the two salespeople, and being in sales myself I decided that I wouldn't "reward" them with a sale. At the time I was also traveling out of Tennessee frequently on business and found a dealer in Knoxville that had a completely different attitude and approach to selling Mercedes products - like a real person! I was going to purchase my new vehicle there, but one of my colleagues said "I know a guy" at the MB of Orlando and I was introduced to this dealership. I met Alan over the phone and provided me with a price that I thought was pretty good which I was willing to pay, although I still can't give a "5" for pricing above since it is a Mercedes with Mercedes pricing (and you'll have to negotiate your own deals)! However, I felt obligated to the dealer in Knoxville and asked if they could meet the same price. They were unable (or unwilling) to do so and I refocused my efforts to MB of Orlando and started working with Frank. After waiting several long months for the equipment I wanted to become available, the vehicle was finally built and ready for delivery. I drove down to Orlando and went to the dealership for the very first time to take delivery - and finally met both Alan and Frank in person. These guys and were a pleasure to work with (read "not arrogant") and I would recommend them and Mercedes of Orlando to anyone looking to buy a new MB. Let me also add that Yvette was also very pleasant and easy to work with. Let's face it, her job has no "glory". By the time you get to her for financing, the vehicle has already been chosen and it's the boring and monotonous paperwork that's keeping you from leaving the dealership in your new car! She made this time "more than bearable" with her great attitude! More
Frank Whitton was very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He is a super salesperson. I got a C 250 Coupe that I love. It has a Harman Kardon stereo system that is fantastic. I have a beautiful two tone interior. I love my sport steering wheel. This is the nicest interior I have ever had in a car. It was great using my panoramic sun roof yesterday. I really like the way my car handles. I was very happy with the value I received. Yvette Lookhoff and Charlie Miller were also great. I signed all the paperwork for the car in a very timely manner. There was no hassle. I got my sunscreen from Charlie Miller at the time I picked up my car. He was very prompt. More
I have dealt with Mercedes-Benz of Orlando for several years. My first experience was not very positive. My husband and I were in the market for a 1994 SL500, and we stopped to view the vehicles in the s years. My first experience was not very positive. My husband and I were in the market for a 1994 SL500, and we stopped to view the vehicles in the showroom on two separate occasions. We spent more than an hour on both occasions, looking and waiting for someone to assist us. We finally gave up and decided that a Mercedes was not in our present or future. When my husband was on his way north to call on customers, he decided to stop at the Kraft dealership in Gainesville, Fl. and was immediately assisted by a sales associate and purchased the SL500 that we had already decided upon. The inconvenience of going to Gainesville for service resulted in our unwilling return to your dealership. Fortunately for all of us, Ed Taylor was our designated service representative. He was competent, professional and customer friendly, and he introduced us to Frank Whitton. Though it was many years before we purchased another SL500 (due to the exceptional performance of the 1994 model and the wait for a new model to be introduced), Frank was attentive, patient and extremely helpful to us. We purchased a 2003 SL500 through Frank, and I drove that one until just a few weeks ago when he wisely guided me into a 2012 SLK 350, a decision about which I am totally satisfied. My husband and I have a summer home in western North Carolina, and because of our proximity to the Asheville, NC dealership and their willingness to discount a GL450, we purchased a 2007 GL450 there. Again, because of service issues, we returned to your dealership. After Ed Taylor was promoted to a supervisor level position, Gaylynn Barney became our service representative. When Gaylynn was unavailabe upon one occasion, Carolyn Roy took care of us. After our first experience with Carolyn, we asked for her to be our permanent service representative. She has been equally as professional, competent and friendly as was Ed Taylor before her in that role. Because of experiences with Ed Taylor, Frank Whitton and Carolyn Roy, I have purchased a 2012 SLK350 from your dealership and have ordered a 2013 GL450 to be built in August of this year. My husband passed away in October, 2011, and Frank's sensitivity to my situation has been totally appreciated. I have had my own professional career for 35 years with extensive administrative duties, so I am not a helpless female struggling with unexpected responsibilities, but I REALLY appreciate Frank's knowledgeable, respectful and supportive demeanor. We had a wonderful experience purchasing our vehicle with Robert. We had just purchased a new SUV but quickly realized that we did not like it.
