I have paid all of my bills on time for the 5 different Mercedes that I have had serviced there. My credit is excellent. The dealership has required me to prepay thousand of dollars for parts and tires tha Mercedes that I have had serviced there. My credit is excellent. The dealership has required me to prepay thousand of dollars for parts and tires that my Mercedes with 17,000 miles needs that have been on back order for weeks and still counting. Perhaps the dealership is struggling with having enough working capital to run the operation. I feel this policy cheapens the Mercedes brand. More
One of the worst experiences that I have had at a dealership service department. I brought my sprinter van in on August 1st due to it going into LHM. I dropped it off with Mark, and the specializ dealership service department. I brought my sprinter van in on August 1st due to it going into LHM. I dropped it off with Mark, and the specialized sprinter mechanic got it in right away, which was a huge plus. The mechanic test drove the van, and stated that it was throwing a code for low boost pressure/underboost and intermittent turbo actuator failure. Two days later, they stated that they fixed our #2 glow plug issue, test drove it, and it was fixed. We picked it up and continued our trip to Alaska. We drove less than five minutes away from the dealership and it went back into LHM. We then brought it back in to the sprinter mechanic. The next day, they stated the van needed a new turbo but it would take three days to arrive. We agreed and waited. After the seventh day of waiting at the dealership for any kind of communication, the mechanic then stated they were having trouble getting the original turbo out so that they could install the new one. Fast forward a couple of weeks, the new turbo is in, but the van continued to send itself into LHM. The mechanic then recommend to removed glow plug #3 and do a compression test, then a complete engine rebuild. They had no evidence to support the need for this service to be done (not one code pointing to the engine). Considering that I had already given them about $5000, I said no. I got the van towed out of the dealership and to a mechanic in Colorado. Who then diagnoses the issue within an hour of it arriving, but somehow a sprinter certified mechanic missed it. (It had nothing to do with engine failure or the turbo). However, the mechanic in Colorado stated that there have been damages done from when the new turbo had been installed and when glow plug #2 had been installed (both services done at Mercedes in Omaha). I then attempt to contact the service manager, Shaun, to explain the situation. Shaun stated that they did not actually replace glow plug #2. Meaning, they charged us for the part/service, we waited for it to be completed, and then picked it up to finish our cross country drive believing that the problem was resolved. Considering that this issue had caused the van to fail their inspection and it needed "immediate resolution", one would think they would have fixed the problem before they let the vehicle drive away. If not, it is negligence. The entire experience has been like pulling teeth. My phone calls have been bounced around to random people that cant seem to help. After leaving multiple messages, I would only get a call back at the end of the business day if at all. Most of the time I felt as if I were an inconvenience to them even as a paying customer. **The sales department on the other hand were very nice to us the entire time we had to hang out at the dealership.
