Mercedes Benz of Oklahoma City sold this car, so being truly sorry for your mistake kind of goes on deaf ears. If in fact this Dealership were truly sorry for this mistake as you put it, you would have offered to compensate us for the vacation time lost, gas, tolls etc for this unnecessary trip. At the end of the day you sold this vehicle and we were out $700.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. You clearly made a big commitment in driving to Oklahoma City to consider our vehicle and you certainly deserved a clear and thorough description of the vehicle prior to your journey. Sometimes identifying smoker vehicles can be a challenge depending on the individual who is asked to make that determination. After speaking with our pre owned manager, Dann and Andy they all agreed that the lighter had been used several times but they went short of describing it as a smoker vehicle. I myself am very sensitive to a smoker vehicle and probably would have had the same reaction as you and you fiancée. At the end of the day we have the responsibility to tell you that the vehicle didn’t smell as though it belonged to a smoker but it appeared to have been smoked in and allowed you to make the determination of whether or not to make the trip based on that information. We have discussed this as a sales team and are better prepared to handle a scenario like this in the future.
