Worst Dealership Ever Encountered I had an extremely bad experience here and will never do business with this dealership. I put in a deposit for a new ML 350 with a sales person (Harv I had an extremely bad experience here and will never do business with this dealership. I put in a deposit for a new ML 350 with a sales person (Harvey Liddel) and later learned that night I had gotten an initial on-line response from another dealership, which is $3,500 less than what I paid for. I went into the store the next day, asking for a comp. The sales manager, Luke Smith asked me to go to that store to get a confirmed written offer to proof what I told him. You know that is almost impossible to have any dealership to put that in writing. After he left, the sales person told me that the Sales Manager will never talk with me because I insulted him. He continue to say that he felt that I seriously insulted him and not trusting him that I got the best price. I went to the other store and got the licence plate and vehicle ID number for the same model that they are willing to sell at $3,500 less and I call Luke Smith. He then verified that I said I was true before he commit to a price matching. The experience was extremely bad. Never received any apology from the sales person or sales manager. Of course, the sales person was very worried about my review. Just for the curiosity, I called two days later to their on-line department and I got an offer, which is another $1,500 (for a whopping $5,000 less) less. So don't be fooled by the smiling faces by the sales person. More
This store has gone thru a redesign and seems to be Recently stopped by after 2 years of living in LA , Really love the new building , the drive is large and the customer service from my point of view h Recently stopped by after 2 years of living in LA , Really love the new building , the drive is large and the customer service from my point of view has been excellent ..... Seems like the pricing reflects the market for service and the new buildings and service center set these guys above any independent ... Just check the pricing thats simple. The location is the same but its a brand new dealership ... clean and super comfortable with a very nice lounge. Personally I like to do 'business' with a business that has been around MB OAKLAND has been here for 50+ years ... Just have to thanks Garland Brad and Luke ( thanks for showing me the new CLA while I waited) for making my this experience excellent with my budget in consideration. More
The customer service at this dealership is horrendous. I called ahead and made an appointment and received an email that I would be working with Sam La. When I arrived the next day, I had to wait 15 minutes called ahead and made an appointment and received an email that I would be working with Sam La. When I arrived the next day, I had to wait 15 minutes before Sam even came - little did I know that that would be the best of the experience. Throughout the entire process, Sam acted like he was doing ME a favor by giving me basic information on the car and answering my questions. I had to ask multiple times to have the car I was interested in brought around for a test drive, while he kept just going over the vehicle information print out. When they finally brought the car, Sam didn't show me any of the features, open the door for me or actually offer the test drive! I was left by myself to crawl around the car and figure out what's what. Afterwards, when we were discussing the price (I had a competitive offer from another dealership) Sam got borderline angry and even more hostile. This guy wasn't just unfriendly/unpleasant for a salesman, but just overall as a person. I walked out of there even though they had a car I was interested in just because I didn't want to deal with or be around Sam. Part of buying a luxury car is having a luxury customer service experience and this dealership DID NOT DELIVER. It's really their loss as I ended up purchasing a car that day at the Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek which is just 15 min away and delivers exceptional customer service. More
4/2/13 - Called their sales dept, explained my budget and they said YES, we can honor that price for the exact car you viewed on our site. When I arrived, which took 4 hours total travel time, I got the bait they said YES, we can honor that price for the exact car you viewed on our site. When I arrived, which took 4 hours total travel time, I got the bait and switch on price. The GM tried to make me "feel" better but the bottom line is that they lie to get you in and then up the price. The GM calls this "trying to RANGE" the customer. Well lying is lying where I am from and don't do business with this dealership. Gavriella Rhodes = call center the promised the price Darren Sparro = GM who said they RANGE customers when they arrive Lukman Dotson = sales rep who told me at dealership NO to the promised price More
I called MB of Oakland because their online inventory showed a vehicle I may be interested in. Then I went down test drove it and it was close but not exact. My salesperson Sam was mostly interested in o showed a vehicle I may be interested in. Then I went down test drove it and it was close but not exact. My salesperson Sam was mostly interested in only selling me the car he had not what I desired. I made it very clear this was not the vehicle I desired. I requested a custom order price and delivery timeframe. Then he sent in the "Shark" closer or "manager". I was informed that the 2013 model year was over and they were no longer building this car and I could order a 2014 or delivery 6-8 months from now. It would be best just to take the one they have now. I said no thank you, I know what I desire and I have ben shopping, I was offer specific build dates and discounted pricing. They told me strictly MSRP on this car. I said Thank You I will purchase elsewhere. Ironically this is the same dealer as MB OF San Francisco and they were the complete opposite. Friendly, attentive, and desired to get me exactly what I wanted. As I was leaving the "shark" said quite loud that dude is smoking it. I replied back that I would be happy to bring my signed contract in when I got my car, he said it was not needed. What second class clowns for such a high end automobile and purchase. More
I flew to Oakland to purchase a used, certified ML 63. This is a vehicle that's nearly $100k new and used was over $60k. I received a number of pictures from the dealer of the car and after speaking with This is a vehicle that's nearly $100k new and used was over $60k. I received a number of pictures from the dealer of the car and after speaking with them at length about the condition of the SUV, I informed them I would be flying out to purchase the ML 63. Here's the good. 1. They took the time to pick me up at the airport. 2. They had the car "ready" to go. 3. They had a loaner car for me to drive to the Nevada boarder as I was from out-of-state and did not want to register in California or pay California sales tax (both of which I'm required to do in my home state). Here's the bad. The car was not in certified shape. A front driving light was broken. A wheel had a bad valve stem that slowly leaked during my 2000 mile drive home. There was a dent in the roof that I didn't see upon inspection. There was "road rash" on the hood. The tires were marginal - right at the minimum level of tread. After my drive home (which I stopped at two auto shops to try to determine why my tires were leaking air - no success), I discovered the non-functioning driving light. I was forced to pay for this even though the person I brought with me (a cop) noticed that the light looked like it wasn't working correctly and was willing to sign paperwork to that point. That cost me about $250. It was determined that the valve stem was leaking. This was replaced for free (it took months to determine this by my local dealer). I found the dent in the roof. After finding a picture of the dent, I contacted the dealer. The picture was too grainy to be conclusive. The dent and road rash was another $1600. Finally, after only 8000 miles, all tires had to be replaced. There's another $2k. The Oakland dealership was not helpful with anything - even after contacting them several times about these problems. I fault the manager more than the salesman. I would never recommend this dealership. The acted more like a cheap used car lot than a Mercedes dealer. I have since sold the car (I won't buy another Mercedes) which is why I'm now comfortable writing this review. Stay away from Oakland! More
Do your homework first. This place has poor customer service and must be struggling to keep its customers. Benzoverbackwards.com?? I now have to pay for exceptional service!!! Give me a break! I used to service and must be struggling to keep its customers. Benzoverbackwards.com?? I now have to pay for exceptional service!!! Give me a break! I used to get great service from this location just for showing up. Do yourself a favor and take your Mercedes somewhere else. It seems the management has changed for the worse. More
1. The dealer definitely didn't have the car but told me 1. The dealer definitely didn't have the car but told me to get there and he had the car with him. On reaching there he showed me the car was sold 1. The dealer definitely didn't have the car but told me to get there and he had the car with him. On reaching there he showed me the car was sold and something that I don't like is available. The car he showed as "sold", I already knew about from another dealer (San Francisco) who originally sold the car. I knew about it before I called this dealer about my request. (btw, San Francisco guy is a really nice guy) The sales agent said he was too busy to tell me to not drive 50 miles. When as a matter of fact, I had spoken with him an hour before I reached there. (again, car was sold two days ago). Btw, my request call and my purchase was on the same day. 2. I called the sales rep about the delay in getting there because the car I was driving (and trading in) broke on the way to the dealership. He assured me and convinced me that instead of going to another dealership, if I got the car to him he will get me a good price and manage the repairs. I towed my car to their dealership, and he said all he can get me is the price of a junk car ($3K) and only reason why he'll take it is because he wants my business. 3. I buy a car and in less than 5-7 miles the Navigation system stops working, and so does the display. radio works just fine though, so does the voice recognition system. 4. Next day is worse: he knows I have extended warranty and also that my car has a problem. He is pressuring me to take my old car (his car?) to the dealership to save money on repairs. (But he said he didn't care it was a junk piece). Then he says, I'll need to pay for anything that my warranty doesn't cover. And I lost it. But now, whether he pays for it or no, I authorized the payment (quite dumbly). I'll help with my warranty the best I can but I sold my car. 5. It gets worse... the car I bought doesn't work either. his mechanics don't know whats wrong with this car now. to top everything the funny part is he blames it on me, "oh you may have pressed some wrong button or something". There I was venting all out for the first time and I told him "yes, i took the system out, and placed it right back in for that to happen". I left the dealership with a hope that I never have to go back again! No one should need to. More
