Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates responded

In this situation the customer came to us with an existing Mercedes Benz lease and tried to replace with a brand new Mercedes lease. In an effort to expedite the process customers vehicle was grounded at the same time a application was being processed. Once Mercedes Benz directly declined to enter into another lease agreement with this customer we were able to cancel the grounding of customers vehicle and return it. Nothing the dealership did effected the customers remaining payments. The customer was over mileage on existing lease which would effect final payment when turning in leased car. We regret that this happened and would have preferred the customers overall satisfaction.

Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates responded

Customer purchased a certified pre-owned Mercedes benz from our dealership. Our dealership did reprogram the transmission at the customers request. After that the customer took the vehicle to a different dealership for service. We can not speak to why it was in service for 37 days. This was first brought to my attention on January 13th and I emailed and spoke with him. I also encouraged customer to contact Mercedes Benz for involvement and he had already done so. We agreed to meet in person along with our service director to review the issues once the vehicle was returned from the other dealership. Customer made an appointment then called to canceled. We assisted the customer with Mercedes Benz direct to provide satisfaction of his complaint. He decided that he now wanted a BMW and I explained we would be happy to assist him with BMW but Mercedes Benz direct was not going to participate in switching brands. I contacted our other store on his behalf and was able to get him more money for his trade in and a better deal on the BMW. I felt I was helping Eric. Just to clarify I would never hang up on a customer and our General Manager Mick Austin called Eric while on vacation to address his concern. All emails and phone calls are documented. John Karoumi
