I purchased my fourth Mercedes-Benz, this time from somewhere in Virginia. And wouldn't you know it, Lisa saved the day again. (Please refer to my May 2017 review on this site). I traded in my 2014 S55 somewhere in Virginia. And wouldn't you know it, Lisa saved the day again. (Please refer to my May 2017 review on this site). I traded in my 2014 S550 4MATIC Sedan for a 2017 S63 AMG 4MATIC Sedan. The difference is like night and day. In my S550, it was like driving on clouds. In my AMG, it's like making the clouds for others to drive on. The AMG should be replaced with OMG! Knowing I was going to make this purchase, I wanted Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown (MBoH) to provide a mechanical review of the vehicle before I signed the paperwork, as Marty suggested. I had an appointment scheduled with MBoH and yes, I intended to drive that 60 miles back and forth. But the dealer in Virginia didn't want me to take the car to a Maryland MB dealership. They were happy to allow me to go to the MB dealership at Tyson's Corner or Arlington. But I knew I was going to buy the car anyway. So, I cancelled the appointment with MBoH and went about the business of purchasing my first AMG. All systems are go! I stroked a check, said goodbye to my buddy and friend that had supported me since January 2017, pulled the plates off of him and said hello to my new, big friend! I am on my first road trip in this beast of a vehicle, driving to Hagerstown from Vienna and next thing I know, the oil light comes on. I call my go-to place and they tell me to come on in, even though I had cancelled my appointment. Remember, I've been buying a vehicle all morning. It's after 2:30. I haven't eaten. So I think I'll swing by a fast food restaurant quickly and go to the dealership. But the line is wrapped around the building. No time. Get to the dealership to take care of this light. I tell Lisa, hey I haven't eaten and it just so happens that she had pizza from lunch that day. The Pizza Hut boxes were still there. She hands me a plate and says, "I can warm this up for you if you'd like." I was surprised, pleased, hungry, and since I'm hypoglycemic, I needed to eat. This woman not only saved the day, she might have saved my life. Let that sink in. But there's this other thing working, too. Where did the comfort level come into play that a customer would tell a service representative that he is hungry. So I ask that those reading this read between the lines. The people at MBoH go further than just good customer service. For that, they should be justly recognized. Lisa, thank you. In early March, I purchased a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 from Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown. Overall, I had a positive experience, which I have documented in a separate review on DealerRater. The subject of this review is an after-sale experience I had with the license plate bracket on my AMG C43. When I purchased the vehicle in March, Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown installed a temporary plate on the vehicle. On May 1, my permanent license plate arrived in the mail, and I set out to swap it onto my vehicle. One of the bolts holding the temporary plate in place had been screwed in especially tightly, and when I tried to unscrew it, the license plate bracket snapped. I determined at this point that I needed a new bracket. I was surprised when the first two dealerships I called asked me to make an appointment to swap the bracket, given that it would be no more than a 5-10 minute job. The third dealership I called (Mercedes-Benz of Bloomfield Hills) let me come by right away, and they swapped on the new bracket very quickly. However, I was frustrated when they refused my request to treat the bracket failure as a warranty claim and instead charged me $70 for it. I complained to Mercedes-Benz USA, and they recommended that I contact the dealership that sold me the vehicle: Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown. I corresponded with sales manager Austin Shemon, who was polite, understanding, and helpful. He quickly agreed to reimburse me for the majority of the cost of the bracket and overnighted me a check. Based on my positive experience, I recommend Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown to anyone who is looking to purchase a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. More
