Mercedes caused damage to my Smart car engine, not changing the oil 8 months ago, when I paid for full 9 year service on only 35000 miles and caused damage of piston on cylinder one. I bought a Smart in 2013 and everything was great until one year ago in July of 2022, when I took my Smart for 9 year service on only 35000 miles. I wanted Mercedes to check the engine and paid for full service diagnostic. Eight months later, I got engine light on and went back to Mercedes at Coconut Creek, FL, where I have been servicing my Smart for 10 years. They told me, that I need to change spark plugs and ignition coils, which I did the previous year. I agreed, paid USD 3000.00 for it and took my car back home. Two days later, my engine light came on again and I towed the car back to Mercedes. This time, the Mechanic, who specializes on Smart, came back and told me, that my engine is done, and I need to order new engine, which will cost USD 20000.00. I could not believe what was happening. 8 months ago, I asked Smart - Mercedes Benz at Coconut Creek to do a full inspection on my engine?! They said, that I need to change a piston on cylinder one and no one can perform that service at Mercedes, as I need to order new engine, which is more expensive to buy a brand new car. This is how Mercedes treated me after 10 years, the moment the car was paid off, and warranty expired, despite of the fact, that I did care greatly for my vehicle, I trusted Mercedes to do their due diligence, which they did not. Not only, that they did not check my engine, but not changing the oil, caused piston one to get damaged and having in mind, that these cars are no longer imported in the US since 2019, it was impossible for me to find refurbished engine to replace it. This is my experience with Mercedes at Coconut Creek, FL. I do not wish on anybody to go through, what I did experience with them. More

The bodyshop this dealer uses is horrible. The manager Omar has no idea what he is doing. After waiting for over a month and 2 repaints to get the color correct. This was the 1st time I used this dealership’s service dept. The one closest to me could not get me a rental car during service for over 2 months.
