I was in the market for a 2018 GLC 30 TL;DR: E-Mail John Murphy at Mercedes-Benz of Caldwell. He'll work hard for you and give you a great deal! I was in the market for a 2018 GLC 300 4Matic. I had already test driven the vehicle and knew what features I wanted so, given that we buy everything else online these days, I reached out to a number of dealers over e-mail for their best sale price. Most dealers insisted that I come into the dealership to discuss my options, didn't give me a great price upfront, were not responsive when I attempted to negotiate over e-mail or refused to give me a lease breakdown. John Murphy at Mercedes-Benz of Caldwell was the exception. I reached out to John Murphy directly after seeing the vehicle I wanted in their inventory and reading great reviews about him here on Dealer Rater. He responded almost immediately with a great sale price. After a few more quick e-mail exchanges, including a lease breakdown, I decided to move forward with a lease deal. As we were working to finalize the deal, it turned out that the GLC I wanted ended up being sold to another customer. John immediately searched other dealer inventory and found an almost identical GLC 300 that was about to make its way over from Finland to another Northeast dealership. He assured me that he would give me the same exact deal that we had already negotiated. He worked out a trade with that dealership and we drew up a lease order to secure that vehicle. Given that this was only my second lease and my first with Mercedes, I had lots of questions and John was happy to answer all of them. John kept me updated on the status of the vehicle. In two weeks time, I made my way to the dealership to pick up my brand new 2018 GLC 300 4Matic! It was the first time I met John in person and he was as friendly and helpful in person as he was over phone/e-mail. I was in and out of the dealership in about an hour and a half. More
