I recently had a less than perfect experience that would have been avoided had my service advisor listened and communicated with the mechanic working on my Miata. The AC had started blowing hot and I r have been avoided had my service advisor listened and communicated with the mechanic working on my Miata. The AC had started blowing hot and I recharged the unit myself. The coolant was empty after a few days and I knew it was a major leak. I told the advisor this when I took the car in. Instead of putting any of this on the service ticket, they just entered "customer states air blowing hot". The mechanic recharged the system and they told me my car was ready for pick up. I reminded the advisor that I had done the same and the coolant leaked out after a few days. We agreed to keep the car there overnight so they could check the charge next day. Next day, they assure me that the system is still fully charged and I can pick it up. That was $188. After 2 days of driving, the ac is blowing hot again so I go back to the dealership. The service advisor said "IF the car was leaking refrigerant like I said it was, they would have found the leak". He also straight up lied at said "that's why I wanted to keep your car for a few days but you insisted to pick it up". Nothing could be further from the truth. His line of reason was deeply flawed. Honestly, why would he think I was unable to tell if my AC was blowing hot? On closer inspection, there was a huge leak in one of the components up on the firewall. It was a big repair that involved disassembling the entire interior of the vehicle. The air blows cold and you'd never know the vehicle was stripped to the firewall. It was a pain for the mechanic to fix and they did a great job. If you choose to use MedCenter, I would ask to inspect the work order prior to your vehicle being given to a mechanic. This experience robbed me of a lot of confidence in their ability to communicate basic information. More
