Mr. Norris, At the time of purchase, you were told that it could take longer than 30 days to receive your TN tag, because it involves out of state paperwork and the TN DMV could take longer to respond to out of state paperwork. You spoke with me, Lauren Salinas, Chris Pressley our finance manager and Lamont Stevenson, your salesperson on several occasions throughout the 30 days to get updates on your tag status. During those updates, we could only let you know that the TN DMV has your paperwork and is processing it, and as soon as they are done, we are requested a FedEx Priority Overnight shipment of the tag from them, so we could then overnight the tag to you so you could receive it as quick as possible. Also, I let you know, that if for any reason it goes over the 30 day time frame and your temporary tag is expired and you are pulled over by an officer, to please let the officer know that your paperwork is being handled by the DMV and to show them the bill of sale on your vehicle. If for some reason the officer still tickets you, then we would incur all fees/fines for that ticket for you. We tell that to all of our customers and have never had to pay a ticket for an expired tag. To answer your question regarding the vehicle having a lien on it, there was no delay in your paperwork b/c of the lien on the vehicle. We had already paid off your vehicle when it was traded in and were simply waiting for the titled to be mailed to us. It had no interference with your paperwork whatsoever. So again, there was no lien on your vehicle when it was sold to you - we had already paid it off, and were waiting on the title to be mailed to us. I explained all of this to you over the phone and it was my understanding that you understood everything and were ok with the matter. My apologies that it took over 30 days for you to receive your tag; we did everything we could to speed up the process, it just unfortunately takes longer with out of state DMV's to process the paperwork. Betty- I am sorry you had a bad experience here at McKenney Salinas Honda Mitsubishi. I have spoken with both the salesperson and sales manager regarding your experience and they are fully aware of your concerns and what they did incorrectly in our sales process. As for the pricing and availability of the Outlander Sport, using Consumer Reports to obtain pricing was definitely a great choice; however their pricing model does not allow for consumers to price the vehicle with the packages added to any Mitsubishi model. So unfortunately, we never have the Mitsubishi model consumers request at that price, b/c all Mitsubishi models come with certain packages, whether it be the Sun and Sound package, Cargo Package, Audio Package, etc. We always try to be upfront with that information here in the internet department so there are no surprises when you arrive at the dealership. So I apologize on Ruth's behalf and she did not make you aware of that. Also, using Consumer Reports to obtain your upfront, no-haggle price means that it is the intended transactional price on the vehicle you want. That's why a lot of consumers choose to use Consumer Reports buying service; because they do not want to haggle or negotiate when they get to the dealership. So there should have never been any negotiating from the salesperson or sales managers. My apologies that you were involved in what you call the "song and dance" game. Again, there should have been no negotiation b/c you already received our upfront no-haggle pricing from Consumer Reports. It is also my understanding you were very upset with the figures that were given to you on your trade, which was a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. We definitely should have done a better job about being upfront and should have appraised your trade before you drove the hour and a half here so there wouldn't be any surprises regarding the value of your trade. We should have offered to give you an approximate value right when we found out you'd be driving from a distance. So again, my apologies for your experience here at McKenney Salinas Honda Mitsubishi. I will absolutely make sure that my internet team does a better job of communicating with our customers regarding the no-haggle pricing and appraising trades with approximate values so there are never any surprises when customers drive to our dealership.
