This is our 3rd Lexus that we have purchased from McGrath in Westmont. We drive an extra 30 miles because of the excellent service and treatment that we have always received at McGrath. Larry even took us to the overflow lot so we could compare the specific cars that we were considering, which allowed us to make the right purchase decision. Mel is a sincere, honest, helpful guy! He really listened to what we were looking for. We were interested in a Lexus we had seen at another dealer even though it didn't have the navigation system. listened to what we were looking for. Before making a decision we contacted Ben Mutz asking if McGrath had something comparable. Ben arranged for us to see Mel the next day which was Ben's day off. Mel picked up on our interest in the navigation system and asked us what color we preferred. In a couple of minutes he brought a car out for us to see that was the right color and even had the navigation system. He was not at all pushy and left us alone to discuss what we were thinking. We are so thankful that Mel was the salesperson for us and he is definitely the main reason we bought that day without further research. He also promptly responded to an e-mail a week after we bought the car so he wasn't just interested in making a sale but wanted us to be satisfied. When we brought the car in for an intermittent problem with a headlight, he got it fixed for us without charge even though that was not under warranty. I'm not sure if I should thank Mel, McGrath or both. The funny thing about it was that I didn't really intend to buy a car that day. I planned to only get a price for a new ES350 just as I had at a nearby Lexus dealer closer to where I live. But when Mike and Alisa started throwing out numbers for a new Lexus to replace my 2007 Acura TL, I knew about where I wanted to end up. Not only did they beat the other price, they beat it by more than $2700. That is the way I like to do business when buying a car---get right down to where you want to end up so it is a fair deal for both sides. I like to take excellent care of my cars, but I want to be rewarded for that extra care when it is time to get a new one. I loved my Acura TL, but my new Lexus ES350 is really a neat automobile, and one that I am sure to be happy with. My hometown is Alexis, Illinois a small town downstate near Galesburg. When people ask me where I'm from, I can say, "Alexis." When they ask what kind of car I drive, I can say, "a Lexus." I have always wanted to be able to say that!! More
