The window on my Hyundai Accent was shattered so I decided to call the Service Department for a cost estimate. I spoke with Christine who was very friendly and answered all of my questions. I also dealt with Ed from the Service department and Becky the cashier, who were both extremely nice. Overall, I was pleased with my experience and I will definitely bring my car there for future service. More
Very bad experience. First they don't treat customers as customers (car buyers to be) but as only source of money that came in. Shuffling pages with different numbers in front of customer's eyes is a normal customers (car buyers to be) but as only source of money that came in. Shuffling pages with different numbers in front of customer's eyes is a normal practice. No responsibility for words whatsoever. You get email with a quote... when you come they start with you like you never received anything form them; you get an email with assurance that they offer better price by $500 less to any written quote you bring to the from other place... forget about it, they will tell you, yes they can make it, just come ... you come you show and you learn that they don't have any vehicle ... come on guys, you can play these games among yourselves. If you want to have customers, be honest! They are not able to show any respect to you , when you decide to leave becasue you are not satisfied with their offer, no even simple good buy... So if you can, never choose McGrath! This is why I decided bye bye! More

I originally bought my car at another dealership, but now live in Chicago and went to McGrath Hyundai Dealership to service an engine light issue. In the process of trying to work with the Warranty company, live in Chicago and went to McGrath Hyundai Dealership to service an engine light issue. In the process of trying to work with the Warranty company, Christine and Ed worked with me, my original dealer and the third party Warranty company to get the best deal possible. Although the warranty company had many requests and conditions, Christine and Ed help me navigate through the process to utilize my Hyundai warranty. Thanks Christine and Ed I really appreciate your effort and professionalism! Regards, Xenia Diaz More
These people are helpful, friendly, and a pleasure to deal with. Even though there are closer dealerships to my house. I do not mind going a little further. with. Even though there are closer dealerships to my house. I do not mind going a little further. More
Yes for the simple fact Hyundai cars are very reliable and economical. Another reason is they have state of the art technology built in the cars. Visiting a car dealership can be rewarding or frustrating. McGrath City Hyundai is frustrating. There are things that are not the fault of the salesmen and the dealership, like the horrible location or the fact that the cars are parked two feet from the curb of a very busy intersection or that for some reason my salesman drove the car down the sidewalk to get it out for a test drive. Then there are things that are just bad sales/customer service. A lot of people enjoy this dealership, so maybe I went on an off day, but I would not recommend McGrath City Hyundai right now. Firstly, the salesman (I will not name names) was overly aggressive. I came in for a quick test drive and to talk about the new Hyundais and the man wouldn't let me leave. I was stuck sitting in his office for two hours while he conintually tried to make new offers for me to buy the car. I made it clear that while I was looking to purchase a vehicle, I had no intention of doing it at that immediate instant and that I wanted to check out other car makers and their inventories, but he would not take not right now for an answer. I only got out of there because I told him I had to leave for family business. Not to mention, he called me daily tryinig to pitch me the car even after I told him I was no longer interested. Secondly, the staff, outside of the manager, did not know much about their cars. I would ask simple questions and the answer I would always get is "I will have to check and get back to you". Thirdly, the dealership puts pin-stripes, nitrogen in the tires and other accessories onto their new cars and there is no way to get them not to do those changes, at least according to my salesman, and those alterations cost over a thousand extra dollars on top of the sticker price. Fourthly, the sales floor is large enough to hold six or seven well positioned show cars and yet when I got there, only three cars were on the floor. The cars I were looking at were outside in the freezing cold next to the intersection of Grand and Oak Park. I couldn't understand anything the salesman was saying because all I heard was the traffic and I was freezing. Lastly, when I was test driving the car, I was rudely interrupted by another salesman who was running with the car, pounding on the back trunk while I was in motion. He startled both myself and the salesman working with me. His excuse - he needed the car we were test driving so we had to find another one. No apology either, except a half-assed oops later in the evening while I was stuck in the cubicle trying to leave. I felt bad for my salesman who obviously was embarrassed by his co-workers actions. The only positive I have for my experience was from the manager who was walking the sales floor chatting with shoppers. He knew his cars and customer service better than anyone else there. I would avoid McGrath City Hyundai. More
I had brought in my car to have the Environmental Protection Package applied. They noticed on the initial inspection that I had badly scuffed up one of my rims on a curb and said that they also had Protection Package applied. They noticed on the initial inspection that I had badly scuffed up one of my rims on a curb and said that they also had the company they use to refinish rims coming in to repair a rim for a different customer and asked if I would like him to take a look at mine. I agreed and said to call me with a price. They didn't have any loaner cars left in their pool so they called Enterprise and set up a rental for the day which they paid for. While waiting for Enterprise to come and pick me up, they told me the price to have the rim refinished which I thought was more than fair compared to the cost of the rim. I was called later that day that the EPP was applied and the rim was repaired. The rim looked like new and the car was spotless and shining like the day I drove it off the lot. Fantastic Job. More
