Please don't be fooled by the lower price posted on the used car sale website. I tried to buy a 2011 Kia Optima. The price was listed differently at different websites. Their inventory said $18,990; Truecar.com said $16,990; and at some other sites, it was $17,990. So I called McGragth and talked to Elba Millares, Customer Care Center Manager. She told me that she and her dealers honor the advertised price and asked me to print it out and bring it to them. So I printed the $16,990 posting and visited there two days after talking with her. But what I experienced was totally out of imagination. First of all, Elba was not there even though she confirmed the time of my visit over the phone. Secondly, the dealer whose name I don't know showed me 2012 optima, instead of the car I wanted to buy. Then later, he told me that the Opitma at the price of $16,990 was sold at the night I called Elba. What kinds of dealers are doing business like this! I came back home and checked the car-sale websites. The Truecar.com has a posting of $18,990, and their inventory still shows the price is $18,990. They LIED to me because they did not want to sell the car $2,000 less. They can tell a lie to you. You cannot trust the McGrath dealers. More
Ed and Christine are always so personable and friendly every time we bring our care in. It’s easy to give a 1,000 points to McGrath City Hyundai - the reason why - Eddie V. (in service), Rigo and Chris. Eddie and Rigo have been with me for a very long time and unless my car broke down (out of - the reason why - Eddie V. (in service), Rigo and Chris. Eddie and Rigo have been with me for a very long time and unless my car broke down (out of state) and I couldn’t get to their location, NO other dealer, mechanic, neighborhood repair shop or handy man is allowed to service my car - PERIOD! I purchased my first car from Jacobs Twin (McGrath now) and that’s where I first encountered the customer service I have become accustomed too. Purchased a new car from McGrath BECAUSE I knew Eddie, Rigo and Chris would be connected to the purchase because of service. McGrath should be very lucky to have staff as such – like I’ve said before, they go, I go – that’s how well they take care of me and my baby – my car. I am forever grateful to them because I could go anywhere but I keep coming back to McGrath. More
They were much more pleasant than previous dealerships I have had to work with. The service was done in a prompt manner & I was very satisfied with how helpful they were. have had to work with. The service was done in a prompt manner & I was very satisfied with how helpful they were. More
Even though we purchased both of our Hyundais from another dealership, the employees at McGrath treated us as if we were long time customers at their dealership. This was the 2nd Hyundai dealership that I had been to in 1 week. The 1st one I went to was Rosens in Algonquin. I had a terrific experience there despite the fact that they weren't able to find the exact ca 1 week. The 1st one I went to was Rosens in Algonquin. I had a terrific experience there despite the fact that they weren't able to find the exact car, color and features that I wanted within a few days after going there. They did however improvise and offer to install a sunroof on the same car with lower miles that wasn't the color I desired. They also matched a competitor's price. The reason I bring this up is because Mcgrath wouldn't match any other dealerships. They kept coming up with excuses why they couldn't. I came to McGrath because they had the car with color and features I wanted on their website. I was hoping to get it for the same price the other dealers would do. This begins the story of the lies and gimmicks they tell at this place! First they wouldn't match Gartner's online prices because the car they showed me that I was interested in was a "1 owner" car NOT a rental car. Somehow trying to create an illusion in my head that if 1 owner only drove the vehicle it'd be in better shape or something. They wouldn't drop the price for that reason. He said the vehicle goes for 14991 on the website and the best he could do was 14491 and he'd throw in an extended bumper to bumper warranty until 100,000 miles. Needless to say I walked out of there because they wouldn't budge on the price. I spoke with my Dad and he told me to go back there the next day to try to see if I could get them to go lower. As soon as I walked in I went right to Andy who is the manager and verified if the extended bumper to bumper warranty would still be included if I bought today. He said yes. I then went on to deal with Ack who was actually pretty nice and he had nothing to do with mishap. I talked him down to 14,050 after about 4 hrs. Then I viewed the carfax report AGAIN and noticed it says it was registered as a RENTAL car. I immediately felt awful that they lied to me and wanted to leave. I did want the car and I thought the extended bumper to bumper warranty would make up for that lie. Well I went to sign the contract and my Dad kept saying make SURE that extended warranty is in the contract before you sign!! It wasn't and the manager was called into the office to dispute what he had told me. He goes on to tell me that the extended warranty is with the certified vehicles and it's power train only. He said he would have NEVER said that. NOT what he told me the night before. I was not hearing voices when he told me that he had a "coupon" from Hyundai that would extend the bumper to bumper warranty. Another reason why he couldn't lower the price! They were very firm on 14461 the night before. It's like a bait and switch at this place. Very shady business if you ask me. It's standard that certified cars come with the 60,000 or 5yr bumper to bumper plus the power train warranty. I also say honesty is the best policy. This place is a JOKE! I wasted almost my whole day off juggling on a "deal" I come to find out after leaving the 2nd time that the car I was going to buy is listed as 13,691 on their website not 14991 like he said! So why did this guy LIE and say they go for 14991???? Pretty sure I didn't have SUCKER written on my forehead. My advice if you do go here and they offer you these "extra" incentives get it down on paper BEFORE negotiating any prices! Chances are they'll play games with you too especially if you're a woman! I'm not desperate for a vehicle and I'm ashamed to say if I was, due to the amount I wasted there I would have probably just bought the car!! I also heard the F word very loudly about 5 times from one of the men at the front desk on the first night I went there. Good thing my kids weren't with me! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! If you want better service and don't want to be lied to go to the suburbs! Rosen's treats you like family and they're very courteous! More
