McGrath Acura of Libertyville responded

Mr John Smilie 1515 S Fallbrook Dr Round Lake Il. is only telling a part of the story. John was in Acura of Libertyville for service on 5-23-2013 and at that time there was 25.175 miles on his MDX today 81.785 two years later and 56.610 more miles. Mr. Smilie told us the he takes his MDX to a independent service center for his oil changes and topping off his fluids. Mr. Smilie should direct his frustration with his leak and stripped drain plug at the independent repair shop since they have been maintaining his car for the last 56.610 miles. Acura Libertyville's warranty on our work is 1 year or 12000 miles on Parts and labor. Mr. Smilie is clearly out of warranty range. If we were doing his regular services we would have seen this oil leakage and addressed the problem. Mr. Smilie was very condescending to Shelly Berg my Service Mgr. of 14 years treated her like a second class citizen. Mr. Smilie needs to apologize for his actions to my employees for the way he belittled them and wanting to summit a false warranty claim to Acura Motor Corp. Mr Smilie also threatened if we didn't do something for him he was calling his attorney. Not a god way to ask for assistance from us or Acura Corp. After being in business for over 20 years Acura of Libertyville has always stood behind the work of our employees Car Fax report shows on 08/04/2014 Velasquez & Son's Mufflers & Brakes Round Lake, IL 847-566-5391 had performed maintenance work along with brake work on his car.Then at 62.000 a accident was reported on his car.
