Highly reccommend Acura of Libertyville to anyone in dire need of service. The building is clean and the staff is very professional, which says alot for the GM. While traveling through Libertyville, my Tahoe started to act up. Luckily, I was able to swing into this dealership. Shelly in service greated me with a big smile that took my troubles away. She introduced me to Keith and Bob from the parts department. They worked together as a team, gave me several options without pressure, and then had the parts I needed in stock. I was very pleased. It is a long story at first i was happy with the service, this is my second consecutive acura. sales, arlington and libertyville. over the last 3 years i have had consistent problems with the navi system. this is my second consecutive acura. sales, arlington and libertyville. over the last 3 years i have had consistent problems with the navi system. shelly refused to have it taken care of. instead over the next three years she proceeded to do unauthorized warranty work for the $$$. for ie: i brought it in for a battery and 45ooo check, and of course fix my navi. instead, she replaced seat heaters, starter and various other parts. when i picked it up the 45k was not done. when i questioned the purpose of the seat heater replacement, she said it is always done whith the 45k check up. BUT THE 45K CHECK UP WAS OT DONE, and it is not routine to the service. then she finally did the 45k and told me i needed breaks, we talked about the importance of that and i ok'd it. go pick up car, no brake work. also the navi, still declined. so i brought it up to the owner Glen Bockwinkel and he said he already heard form shelly the story and i was not welcome there. long long stlory, he said i couldn;t buy abother car there. little did he know that when i tried to contact him 2 weeks later, it was to tell thim that arlingto acura found the issue with the navi but he hung up on mem so he never got to know. they do unethical things there and i want to take this story to the news!! sorry for the typos, but i am physically sick over my ordeal with libertyville acura More
Upon my passenger door getting stuck shut for the second time (both times fixed by them) I took it in for service. While I had their loaner we had a pretty heavy rain. I thought nothing of it. After I got m time (both times fixed by them) I took it in for service. While I had their loaner we had a pretty heavy rain. I thought nothing of it. After I got my car back as I was driving home (35 miles) my check engine light came on. I figured it was nothing but took it back. They reset the computer and told me to come back if it came back on. It came back on. After a week of them having it and hearing nothing I went in and spoke with Shelly. Her and I were already on a first name basis. She said that my engine had been hydrolocked. She said that when we had the heavy rain my car was outside at a low spot on their lot where it flooded. When they went to move it out of the standing water they hydrolocked it. Yes, she admitted the dealer had hydrolocked the engine. So they tell me they're repairing it and their insurance will cover it. I think fine, no problem. Another week goes by, and I check in. They tell me that it wasn't just a bent connecting rod but also a cracked cylinder. They also tell me that they didn't do it, I must have done it. I ask them how I hydrolocked my car when they had it. They have no response. I'm no longer dealing with Shelly at this point, it's her boss who is telling me all this. They charge me $6,500 to repair the car and keep it from me for a month while they fix it. This is the lowest of the low. They destroyed my car and then charged me an obnoxious amount to fix it. When Shelly handed me the keys back she had the look of "sorry" all over her face. She knew it was their fault, it was her boss who made me pay, and there was nothing I could do about it. Avoid this dealer at all costs, they are the true scum of the earth. In fact you should probably avoid all dealers except the "good" dealer, because there's no reason not to. Drive a couple extra miles, it's worth it. More
