Stanford Kim is one of the best car salesmen I have ever dealt with. His level of detail and understanding of the product was beyond impressive. In less than 3 days we left Libertyville Acura with a 2015 TLX for me, and a 2012 MDX for my husband. I worked directly with Stanford Kim, Mike Hatch and Joe Essling, I felt that they all really listened and respected our needs and limitations. Everyone I met throughout the process of trading in my old car and purchasing a certified pre-owned MDX, was extremely kind, helpful, and patient. My salesperson, Shane, in particular, went above and beyond when it came to assisting me every step of the way, and he has continued the excellent customer service post-purchase. I would highly recommend Shane, and Acura of Libertyville, if you are looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. More
STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP--SHOTTY WORKMANSHIP!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! THEY WORKED ON MY VEHICLE AND DAMAGED THE TRANSMISSION BOLT AS THEY STRIPPED ALL THE THREADING AND THEN SAID PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! THEY WORKED ON MY VEHICLE AND DAMAGED THE TRANSMISSION BOLT AS THEY STRIPPED ALL THE THREADING AND THEN SAID IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THIS DEALERSHIP SERVICED MY TRANSMISSION WHEN I TURNED 20,000 MILES, AND WHEN I TOOK MY 2012 MDX IN TODAY BECAUSE IT WAS BURING OIL, I SAW THE MECHANIC TAKE OFF THE TRANSMISSION BOLT AND WHEN THEY PUT IT BACK ON THEY SAID IT WAS STRIPPED---TELLING ME I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION OR A $400 KIT. I SPOKE TO GLENN THE GM, WHAT AN ARROGANT, HEARTLESS UNQUALIFIED GENERAL MANAGER, WHO CUT ME OFF ON THE PHONE AND SAID IT MUST HAVE HAPPENED SOMEWHERE ELSE. GLENN BOCKWINKEL DID NOT WANT TO HEAR THAT HIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS THE ONLY AND LAST PEOPLE TO SERVICE MY TRANSMISSION. GLENN HUNG UP THE PHONE WITHOUT TRYING TO HELP ME OUT AT ALL!!! IF THIS IS THE WAY HE TREATS HIS CUSTOMERS AFTER MAKING A $43,000 SALE, THEN I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THIS BLOW HEART OF A MAN!!!! LASTLY, I WILL BE CALLING CORPORATE AS WELL AS THE BBB. BUT MOST OF ALL---THERE IS A GOD, AND HE KNOWS WHEN PEOPLE ARE LYING!!!! More
Excellent buying experience on a used Acura MDX. I recently bought a used SUV (2008 Acura MDX) from Acura of Libertyville. I worked with Mike Wilson (General Sales Manager) and Stanford Kim (Sales). I recently bought a used SUV (2008 Acura MDX) from Acura of Libertyville. I worked with Mike Wilson (General Sales Manager) and Stanford Kim (Sales). Both people were trustworthy and really easy to work with. They treated me like I was an appreciated customer. I really enjoyed their level of professional support. I was given a super good interest rate for the car that I bought, which is not as likely for a used car. Stanford helped my wife, and my daughter to learn how to use the electronics in the vehicle. He was really patient and answered a ton of questions. I also did not have any down payment for the car. I just had my driver’s license, and no bank statements or anything like that. They ran my credit and made everything super easy. I really felt relieved that they were able to work with my situation, and make it easy for me to walk out of there with the car that I wanted. I live in Glen Ellyn and even though Libertyville is about one hour away, I have told my friends that it is worth it to drive all the way up there to get a new or used car. Then, a few weeks later I was invited to a “New Owner’s clinic”. They reviewed all of their services there, and again I was very impressed. For example, their auto body shop does about ten times more business than they did a few years ago. That is what customers want- we want high volume expertise and super knowledgeable service, for an affordable price. All of this relates to the buying experience. The car itself is awesome as well. In my opinion, an Acura is as good as a BMW or Mercedes, but for a lower price. The MDX is very pleasant to drive and the engine is very powerful – you would not even realize it until you feel the power when accelerating quickly. It rides very well and I feel like I have good control over the vehicle. The MDX feels strong and secure. It is wide and stable. I really like it. The dealership is also doing a bunch of things with technology- for example I can make a service appointment, or look up my service history online- on a smart phone or tablet, for example. The dealership is doing what is needed to set themselves up for success and happy customers. I have nothing bad to say about them at all. I am looking forward to going back there for my next car. Mike and Stanford are world class professionals that sell a world class Acura brand. It is a good combination for a pleasant buying experience. I would recommend them in an instant. More
