We were treated very fairly and professionally by the entire staff at Village Subaru. I found a car online and emailed David Mack who was very helpful with giving me all the information I needed. We then set up an appointment. The dealer was selling a used 2001 Forester with 49K. Car looked mint and low miles. I took the car to have it inspected and was informed that the car looked like it had been sitting in salt water. I f Car looked mint and low miles. I took the car to have it inspected and was informed that the car looked like it had been sitting in salt water. I found contact info of another potential buyer (left mailing address in the car) who had the car inspected too. He told me that he had told the dealership the car was only good for parts and was a "rust bucket". In fact the dealer went to great lenghts to cover up the rust. i would not trust these guys. Anyway i got off easy $75 some poor chump will by this rust heap and be out 8-10K. I would expect this kind of con from some fly by night dealer, but coming from a Suburu franchise is very disappointing More
Recently I purchased a Certified Pre Owned 2009 Subaru Impreza (premium hatchback model) from Village Subaru. I had a very positive experience with the staff I interacted with. I completed my test drive a Impreza (premium hatchback model) from Village Subaru. I had a very positive experience with the staff I interacted with. I completed my test drive and negotiated my price with John Olesen (stand up guy, direct, efficient). Anthony Romano handled all other details after I agreed to a price with John. David (not sure of last name) was in the finance office and handled all the paperwork after sale. All men were extremely professional. Anthony carefully reviewed all the car features with me. He re-emailed me my car registration immediately when I asked him to (due to MY computer problems). As a thirty something female, this was my first experience buying a car solo and I was very pleased with how knowledgeable all were about the vehicle. John and Anthony treated me with respect and patience.Anthony promptly sent me out a check to reimburse me for any car inspection fees. Anthony consistently asked if there was anything else he could do to help me with my car buying experience. John was able to show me all the service records from the past owner of the vehicle (both in paper form and on the computer). After test driving the vehicle, I gave John a price offer that was $1000 below KBB. John and I negotiated a price that I was VERY happy with. I also believe John gave me more for my trade in than other dealerships would have. My trade in vehicle (John knew this) had power steering problems. Anthony, John and David (agent who I finalized payment paperwork with) were detailed when it came to my contract and car information/warranty information. I really appreciated them trying to cross every T and dot every "i". I walked into Village Subaru around 1:30 PM on a Sunday and by 4 PM that same day (including a test drive) I drove home with a fantastic Subaru with leather seats and a moonroof.....all for the same price I was planning on spending on a Toyota Corolla LE. I am a very satisfied customer and I will be returning to Village Subaru for any services needed in the future. I can honestly say I will likely buy Subaru's for the rest of my life. I love my car and I am very grateful how hassle-free the purchasing experience was. Added detail-- I REALLY appreciate how direct John let me be during the price discussion. I didn't feel like I had to go through ten back and forths to figure out what actual cost numbers we were talking. I didn't waste his time and I was VERY happy he never wasted mine. I really liked that about this dealership. Thank you John Olesen, Anthony Romano and David (in finance office) More

Upon signing my purchase agreement and paying for the car the dealership withheld the car for over 2 weeks. A process they told me would take a few days. Their ineptitude made it seem like they had not sold the dealership withheld the car for over 2 weeks. A process they told me would take a few days. Their ineptitude made it seem like they had not sold a car before, they were forgetting pieces of paperwork that needed to be signed and failed to return my phone calls. As a resolution to these issues the manager told me they would deliver the car to my home. This turned out to be a false promise but after a heated discussion they agreed to drive it half way. I reminded them twice to leave my plates off for insurance purposes and deliver the car with their dealer plates since they were driving it. Upon them arriving to the agreed drop off my plates were on the car, they drove it with my plates despite my wishes. A tear in the upholstery that they promised to do their best to fix was the only damage present to the car upon my signing the purchase agreement. They did not fix this and upon receiving the car the situation degraded. Upon receiving the car they also failed to include my warranty information. I noticed there was a problem upon driving the car and hearing very loud road noise that was not present during the test drive. I don't know if there was another test drive after I agreed to buy it or if it was the salesmen delivering the car that caused the damage. Regardless there was damage that was not there upon me agreeing to buy the car and that would not be present if a true 151-point inspection was done. That was the whole reason I bought a certified used car, I paid a little bit extra for the piece of mind for not having to worry about any damage or preexisting issues to the car. This however was not the case, the physical body damage included damage to the front shroud of the bumper, which had a 10-inch crack in it and scuffing along the bottom edge. A plastic retaining bracket that held the fender and the front bumper shroud together was also snapped. Damage was also noted under the car with snapped splash-shields with many plastic rivets missing. More plastic brackets that held on the bottom of the bumper shroud were snapped in half. The grill of the car was missing many plastic rivets and was hardly attached to the car along with the front bumper shroud. Basically all of the front body components of the car were just barely hanging on. After repeated calls and no returned phone calls I have resolved to try and fix it the best I can. These people are crooks. More
I made an offer via an internet automobile shopping website and received a phone call from David Mack promptly the next morning for a used 2009 Subaru Forester, for 18k out the door. The first thing h website and received a phone call from David Mack promptly the next morning for a used 2009 Subaru Forester, for 18k out the door. The first thing he said to me was "Your email made me laugh, it made my day." At the time I didn't realize he was being facetious and belittling, until he went on further to "inform" me that my offer was 4k less than the asking price and by making the offer I was insulting him and saying that he was overpriced. He sounded indignant and personally offended. I told him that I based my decision on the wholesale price of the vehicle and comparable sales, after which he explained that I, as a customer, cannot get the vehicle wholesale, there was an expense to inspect it, etc. He basically said that the internet price is the price and that he could come down maybe $200. I would have been fine if he told me that without the sarcasm right off the bat. In retrospect, it seems like he just called to berate my offer and wasn't open to negotiating at all. Very unprofessional. I wouldn't buy from them if they gave it away. More
I had an excellent experience purchasing a car at Village Subaru. Anthony Ramano worked hard and found the perfect car for me. I love it! He was definately interested in what I wanted, and did not try to Subaru. Anthony Ramano worked hard and found the perfect car for me. I love it! He was definately interested in what I wanted, and did not try to just sell me something. David Mack went way above the call of duty to get me a great interest rate. These two people made the experience of purchasing a new car much better than I expected, and much different than any other dealership. I had been to other dealerships, including Honda and Toyota, and found the experiences difficult. At both places, the people I dealt with were only interested in their commission. This was not true at Village Subaru. I felt that both Anthony and David were on my side. I reccomend that everyone go there and request Anthony Ramano and David Mack specifically. I certainly will next time I need a car, which will probably not be for a while because I love my new Subaru! -Christine More
