Wed 2/21/24: My wife and I test drove a Kia Telluride one week ago today and wanted to purchase it. I authorized them to check our credit. At 7:45pm, 45 minutes after closing, the salesperson had still not h week ago today and wanted to purchase it. I authorized them to check our credit. At 7:45pm, 45 minutes after closing, the salesperson had still not heard back from finance. We live almost an hour away and both had to work the next day. I told the salesperson that we needed to head home so asked him to call me when he heard back from finance. He wanted us to stay and wait but reluctantly agreed to call me back. He never did. I called the next day Thursday and left a message for the salesperson to call me back and he didn't. I called again on Friday asking for a manager and left a voicemail for him to call me back, and he didn't. I called again on Saturday and spoke with the salesperson who said that the finance person had taken a few days off and won't be back until Monday. I called again on Monday and on Tuesday asking to speak with the finance person, still no call back. On Wednesday 2/21/24, I called without identifying myself and asked if the Kia Telluride was still available and was told that it was sold. When I looked at the vehicle, I noticed that the steering column was loose and mentioned it. I also asked for more money for my trade in than they offered. It appears that I was too much trouble for them to deal with. They likely sold the car out from under us to someone who asked very few questions and who didn't notice the steering column issue. Several people dropped the ball on this, and it seemed deliberate. They not only wasted our time, but now we have a hit on our credit rating for a car loan that we will never get. Pretty shady business practice if you ask me. Wed 2/28/24: Just as I was going to post this view 1 week ago today, the sales manager called me and promised to find another vehicle suitable to me at a good deal. I told him that I would give him one week and that I would post this review at the end of the business day Wed 2/28/24 If I didn’t hear from him. No call back, so here it is. STAY AWAY!! More
I had the worst car shopping experience of my life at McGovern Kia working with general manager Jimmy Peluso and salesman Michael Sorm. These people have no regard for their potential customers and think McGovern Kia working with general manager Jimmy Peluso and salesman Michael Sorm. These people have no regard for their potential customers and thinking nothing of wasting hours and hours and hours of their time. I went in and took a car for a test drive, when I asked for the out-the-door price they had me sit at the saleman's desk for over an hour because Jimmy was "busy", but whenever I looked over he was laughing and chatting with his team (stupid mind games...). I finally got frustrated and left without the out-the-door quote. They said they would send it to me, but after 3 days still no price quote. I had to reach out again and finally got it from Jimmy with a quick "sorry for the delay". Working with Michael Sorm we got to a final agreed upon price. Michael told me I had to come in that same day so I could put a deposit down on the car and sign some paper work. Together we came up with a plan on my arriving at a specific time to do all of this, as I live an hour away. I do exactly as we had agreed upon, even getting there early. After waiting for Michael for over an hour he tells me the car is actually already sold but if I would like to leave a deposit they could get another one in 2-3 months. No apology for the situation, nothing, he acted like it was completely my fault. So of course I get angry and leave. In the end I bought the Kia I wanted from another metro west dealership (there are several). Not sure if the team at McGovern is dishonest or incompetent, or both. I will never do business with these people again. Do yourself a favor and take your business to a Kia dealership that treats their potential customers with the respect they deserve. More
