I have always been fond of Buick's, so when I was in the market for my first brand new car, my choice was pretty clear. The whole thought of a new car made me nervous, and going into a dealership was some market for my first brand new car, my choice was pretty clear. The whole thought of a new car made me nervous, and going into a dealership was something I'd never thought I would do, even at 52 years old. I decided to contact the nearest Buick/GMC location, which was McGovern. My first call had me talking to a manager by the name of Felix Suarez. He was very professional and friendly and was quick to answer all of my initial questions. Later that day, I arrived to search for my new vehicle and was promptly greeted by Felix and a gentleman from sales by the name of John Goslow. They both attended to my search with a deep passion, but with a no pressure approach. I advised them of my purchase limit and what I was looking to buy. Felix looked into their inventory, and within minutes, he had something in mind that fit my exact needs. John left for a moment and quickly returned with a vehicle. John Goslow was the point man in the whole process, and I was nothing but pleased, as he began showing me the car that had everything I was looking for to purchase. John was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and what I felt was a man of stellar character. We talked about the car and began a test drive. I was nothing but amazed as I sat behind a true dream, I never thought I would sit in. Everything about the vehicle was amazing, and it had everything I wanted; it was even my favorite color! It was a 2023 Buick Encore GX in Sapphire Metallic! After a short pondering, I decided to purchase the car. From start to finish, I was not pressured in any way and treated with the utmost respect. John felt like a long-time friend as he kept in contact, while the car was prepared for me. John was available for all my queries by phone in a very timely manner and accomplished everything needed, including the inspection and registration. He made the entire process extremely low stress, and if it wasn't for him, I don't think I would have gotten the car I wanted. His calm, respectful, direct, and focused demeanor was a godsend, and the knowledge, commitment, integrity, and expertise he exemplified makes him a true asset to the McGovern dealership! Hands down, it was a great experience, and the financing was made easy with Steven Mendez. It was easy, low stress, and very pleasant! Stopped by today to check as to when gm will be shipping our retrofit kits for missing chipsets for my sierra2500 and to also determine if the adaptive cruise control was part of the missing chips. Jim Saughnessy was my salesperson and happened to be in. He took time to confirm that indeed the adaptive cruise control is part of the missing chips. My complaint and concern is not with Jim or the dealership, both including the service dept have been superb. I recommend the service dept highly. However GM would be well advised to communicate with its customers and frankly dealers regarding precisely what is missing in terms of functionality from the missing chipsets. I would think GM would find it VERY concerning that the adaptive cruise control settings can be turned on and from a "display" aspect indicate its working leaving it to the driver to discover it doesn't work at all. This could easily lead an inattentive driver or one used to another vehicle in which it is WORKING (my 2021vw gli for example) in combination with obvious inattention to be involved in an accident. GM in my view has left itself very open to a law-suit in this sue everybody for everything environment. That said, it was so nice to see Jim and even though his sale to me is long done and over took unrushed time to update me as best he is aware regarding how gm and he will be contacted when missing chipsets become available for my truck. In the past I've had interaction with two other local GMC dealerships and sales folks. Jim and McGovern stand head-and-shoulders far above. More
