I’ll start by saying that Gary singlehandedly restored my faith in new car purchasing. Having previously been burned at a FL Nissan dealer, I was both skeptical and suspicious walking into the dealership. Working with Gary erased all of my issues. He is kind, personable, extremely knowledgeable, and helped me obtain a very reasonable deal on our new Toyota. I never felt an ounce of pressure to purchase from Gary, not one. He simply helped me focus my needs vs. wants and walked me through options available vs. price point. Gary helped me obtain all the meaningful pricing data I thought necessary and encouraged me to take it home and sleep on the offer. It was that easy. Most importantly, I believe I made a friend in the process. I look forward to stopping into McDonough for a cup of coffee with Gary when in the neighborhood. I’m a couple of years out from my next purchase, but based on my experience with Gary and McDonough, I’m convinced it’s going to be a Tacoma with the help of Gary Eavey. More
Disappointing experience The employees were, for the most part, very kind, but I was not satisfied with my service at all. I ordered a key fob that was to be charged to anoth The employees were, for the most part, very kind, but I was not satisfied with my service at all. I ordered a key fob that was to be charged to another dealership as it was supposed to be included with my car purchase. I was referred to McDonough to reduce my commute for service and they were highly recommended by the other dealership. I originally spoke with someone in the parts department who ordered my key fob with ease and I was told I would receive a phone call when it was in to schedule an appointment to program it. Three weeks passed with no word, so I called back and was told it was never ordered, but when I called back with my VIN number to replace the order, I was told that they found the order, but they had sent it to the other dealership. When it finally arrived in Staunton, I went to my appointment to have the key fob programmed and it was a nightmare. After a 30-minute wait, an employee asked if I was having a key or key fob programmed. I had already been there half an hour and they didn't even know why. Once this was clarified, they asked how I was paying for it. I said I wasn't and that the other dealership said to bill them. The employee asked me multiple questions about the payment details, to all of which I responded that the other dealership had those answers, not me. Once the finance was figured out, another employee asked for my license and registration. He asked me a strange series of questions about why my address was different on my license than their forms, who the person was on the registration (my dad), if my dad was selling me the car (he isn't), and why I was the one getting the service, not the vehicle owner. I waited another 30 minutes (we're at 2 hours now) and the key was finally done. The employee who scheduled my appointment told me something like this takes about 30 minutes total, which was information I was depending on as I am a graduate student and don't have 2 hours to throw away. This entire process took almost 2 MONTHS just for a key. I should also add that not many other customers in the waiting room that day were satisfied with their service, either. I will not be returning. More

New Vehicle Purchase My wife and I were in Staunton on business and decided to stop at McDonough Toyota to look at 2016 Tundra trucks. We were introduced to Gary Eavey an My wife and I were in Staunton on business and decided to stop at McDonough Toyota to look at 2016 Tundra trucks. We were introduced to Gary Eavey and we had the opportunity to discuss the 2016 Tundras and the differences between the models. We talked about our desires and Gary quickly determined the Tundra 1794 Edition was best for us as it had the features we wanted in a new vehicle. After we discussed the options, my wife and I left without any commitments. By the time we reached home, we decided the Tundra 1794 Edition was the the best option and called Gary to let him know we were interested in the 1794 Edition. Again, with no commitment to purchase, Unknown to us, Gary researched the best possible pricing and financing if were were to make a decision to purchase this Tundra. To make the story short, we did purchase a 1794 Edition from Gary and were able to take receipt the same day they received the truck from another dealership and had the opportunity to prep and apply an interior and exterior protective spray coating. For me, the worst part of buying a new vehicle is the negotiation of the price and options. Since Gary had researched these issues for us, he presented us with the best price and financing possible so the need for the negotiations was not necessary and it was an easy decision to purchase the vehicle, Gary's no-nonsense and no-pressure attitude was a major factor in our decision to purchase the vehicle is such a short time and will have no problem recommending him to others who are interested in a new Toyota vehicle. Should I need another vehicle, I will be a repeat customer. More

Being brand new to Staunton, I was pleased to read reviews of McDonough Toyota's excellent customer service and decided that is where I would shop for my new car. I poked around on their website one weekend night and found a car of interest. I submitted an inquiry. Gary Eavey responded within the hour and continued to do all he could as soon as he could to help me. I was moving from another state, buying the car and then leaving to tend to family business. I now am back in Staunton and Gary continues to go above and beyond to help me. I am delighted with my new Sienna and with the help Gary Eavey has offered. Although I have not had service experience at McDonough yet, everything Gary and this dealership has done so far gives me assurance I have made a wise choice in buying my car from McDonough and from Gary Eavey. Although I have not had service from McDonough Toyota yet, I will give them an excellent overall and quality of work rating based on my experience so far.) More
Great buying experience, great employees! I recently traded in my 2006 Solara convertible for a 2015 Camry LE. Ragtop was great but I needed a four door. My blue LE is my fourth Toyota and I've loved them all. Also purchased all four from McDonough. I've always been treated well and service dept. is great. Jim Thompson was my sales person and he was terrific. Took me around with patience and humor and we looked at several cars. I was looking for a Certified used one this time and he gave me great info. I received a good trade-in offer for my car from Rick Cason and Steve Cosby guided me along till we figured out a bottom line figure. Good guy and very helpful. Doniell Tibbs was the document lady. A great southern girl with a sense of humor. Even the boss, Steve McDonough stopped by to say hello. Bottom line, I've been doing business with these guys for 20 years and they have always treated me well. More

We are new to the area & went to McDonough Toyota to see if a 2015 RAV4 would be affordable. Gary Eavey made our decision easy & "hassle free" (an unexpected surprise). Answered our questions and even helped set up the bluetooth phone sync and radio settings. This was important to us in particular because we are less "techy " & did not want to have to wade thru a lot of instructions to be able to use a hands free phone etc. As the primary driver, I felt very comfortable that I knew where the various indicators were & how to use them before I drove off of the lot. A+++ for that. Have had the car for a week & taken it on an out of town trip & so delighted. Much as I loved the 08 RAV4 this is a smoother & quieter ride & very easy to handle with great visibility. Love the car & definitely recommend Gary Eavey -very pleasant buying experience. We visited one "used car only" dealer - looking for 2014 but, we contacted about 6 dealers via internet & researched consumer reports. So Glad we walked into the McDonough dealership. Thank you More
