I cannot say enough about this dealership and especially our concierge, Erin Perez. My wife and I needed a new Mazda to replace a 13-year-old Mazda3 we lost in an accident. At a time when new cars are in short supply at many dealerships Gladstone's webpage had a good selection of vehicles on the way. Erin responded to my online inquiries very quickly and gave me all the information I needed to proceed with an order. She helped me through the entire process and seemed as excited as we were when she called back an hour later to tell us our car would be arriving in just two days, as opposed to the 3-6 weeks initially anticipated. At the dealership she was incredibly personable, kind, and very knowledgeable about every aspect of both the car itself and the buying experience. The dealership is clean, organized and conveniently located, and everyone we dealt with treated us with courtesy and respect. As a result, a process that can often be tedious and confusing was efficient and pleasurable at Mazda of Gladstone. We appreciate the dealership and especially Erin, and look forward to doing business there again. More
Shopping for a car these days can be rough, confusing, and disappointing. Odds are overwhelmingly against a shopper finding the car they want or even getting a decent price on a vehicle they don't particu and disappointing. The prevailing attitude among dealerships and dealers is "We're going to gouge you no matter what, so take it or leave it." I found only two dealerships in the Portland area that had made the strategic decision during these tough times to focus on the long game over the short game: fostering customer loyalty instead of grabbing an extra $3k to $8k per car entirely at the customer's expense. And I ultimately went with Mazda of Gladstone and Erin for a variety of reasons detailed below. Mazda of Gladstone and Erin in particular guided me through a low-stress, transparent process. From our first point of contact to the second I drove off the lot, Erin was honest, helpful, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me get in a car I would love without making me feel like I needed to be on the defensive against seller market conditions. She told me that her boss believed they could weather a shortage of cars but not a shortage of customers. She and everyone else at Mazda of Gladstone treated me like I was just a person hoping to be happy with my decision—not like I was a nuisance or adversary or sucker. It’s somewhat surprising that anyone needs to emphasize this while discussing an industry that asks you to buy the second-most expensive possession in your life, but with Erin and MoG I never felt gaslighted, tricked, pressured, annoyed, like I was being annoying, or like I was being asked to choose between the best of the worst choices. At the end of the day, I got an amazing CX-5 (which I love) at a fair price, and because Erin and Mazda of Gladstone decided to help me instead of gouge me, I will definitely go back to Erin and MoG for future automotive needs. More
