I would wish to recommend this dealership only to my enemies or those who have cash to throw out without regards to the final price. Matt was one of the dealerships that contacted me to urge me to co enemies or those who have cash to throw out without regards to the final price. Matt was one of the dealerships that contacted me to urge me to consider buying my Mazda 5 from their dealership. All in all, from his voice message he left, he sounded like he was a genuine good guy with the best of intentions. Little did I know how wrong I was. When I set up a time on a Saturday afternoon to go to the dealership I should have just skipped out altogether given the few people I saw stopping by on such a busy road. Still I took a chance and got a chance to sit down with Matt. I already did alot of research on the Mazda 5 I wanted and what I was expecting to pay. When he sat me down before even discussing the price he was going to give me, he became a drone and started taking down every possible information about what I was looking for, how much I made, and if I was going to throw in my car as a trade-in. Little did I know that this was all a ploy to give him some leverage in negotiations. A word to the wise - if a dealer starts asking you all this information and writing it down.......walk away. Being the first car I would ever decide to purchase, it was a learning experience. His little cube was set very humble with a picture of him and his daughter(?). I was with my cousin who was familiar with these tactics to make it feel like he's an upstanding person looking to fool you into a false sense of security. When he returned after discussing with his boss and using some formula I won't understand, he gave me the manufacturer's price. Right off the bat, I knew I made a wrong choice in coming here. If he thought he could get away at charging me the full price WHICH I already researched and NOBODY pays for that car, he was dead wrong. I think he soon realized that when I chuckled at that price. Matt tried to feed me some bull about this is a good deal and I wouldn't have ANY of it. After that he went back to pull some numbers out of his rear with his manager and brought back the infamous "invoice" price the dealership paid for the car. He said he'd be fired for showing me that price and NO OTHER DEALERSHIP would show me this piece of magical paper. Another piece of bullshit that I already knew about after visiting a previous dealership who showed me the EXACT same piece of paper. Funny thing is when I questioned him about some of the numbers he didn't know anything about it, but I was already informed. (There is a supposed price that dealer employees pay for and another price that manufacturing employees pay for) Needless to say, I was ready to walk out and he should've known better to stop his false "best intentions". Humoring him a bit I asked what would be my "out the door" price after all this is said and done with taxes and fees. I already knew about the title fees and maybe a dealership fee but then he threw in a windows etching fee that's "required by NJ law". If they say this, instantly call bullshit. I didn't believe it and after leaving I did my own research on car laws and this is NOT required. Lies upon lies, I was exhausted and I was fed up with this crap I was being fed. When his manager, Mike came over as a last ditch attempt to gain my business, he was less than friendly and was obviously not happy that I was trying NOT to get ripped off. Maybe because HE was ripped off from the manufacturer or he wasn't happy with making just a couple hundred dollars, I dunno. When he asked what price I was willing to settle for I just threw out a made up number just to get out of there. After sharing his statement "I should be ashamed of myself" for trying to deceive the dealership. That to me says plenty about this dealership. Maybe Matt is a nice guy, and maybe he was pressured by his stern boss to get the "best" deal out of his customers. Either way, if he was more up front about it, I may have considered it, but business is business. You play your cards wrong and get called out and what's done is done. Needlessly to say, after this experience I would NEVER go back here and watch out for these "I'm your friend" tactics. More
I have never worked with such a wonderful saleman in all my experience of buying cars. He was so helpful and did what was needed to put me in my new Mazda 3 which I just love. I will recommend the Deale my experience of buying cars. He was so helpful and did what was needed to put me in my new Mazda 3 which I just love. This is my second Mazda - leased a CX7 from Wayne Mazda 3 years ago, went back to turn in vehicle and lease CX9. Wayne took my deposit, promised me the vehicle in 3 days and after 2 weeks of me calling them years ago, went back to turn in vehicle and lease CX9. Wayne took my deposit, promised me the vehicle in 3 days and after 2 weeks of me calling them (because they weren't even professional enough to follow-up with me) they then told me that they didn't know when they could get my specific vehicle - in the meantime they had my money. I went online to request a quote from Lodi and Lance called me within a couple hours - that evening I had the exact car I was looking for at the price I wanted. Lance had me in and out of the dealership in less than an hour. I will NEVER go to Wayne again and will definitely recommend Lodi to anyone who is looking to get into a Mazda vehicle. I love my new CX9!!! Thanks Lance! More
Stay away from Mazda of Lodi. They are out to grab your money and lie to your face. I took my car in today for an air conditioning repair that I thought would be covered under the "bumper to bumper". Th money and lie to your face. I took my car in today for an air conditioning repair that I thought would be covered under the "bumper to bumper". This is how they call it. I have maintained my car according to the Mazda book recommendations (this is my third Mazda)and the car is under the 50k. Right away the manager makes you sign a waiver indicating that if the repair in question is due to your actions, you are responsible for a $150 diagnostic fee. The guy explained to me this meant if I drove the car into a sinkhole or something like that. Fine, I thought, and signed. Well, that's how they get you. This Jeff comes back an hour later with a $150 bill indicating that it was my fault the air conditioning stopped working and flooded my car! And he says this with a straight face. I debated him and then he tells me he consulted with his superior and they both agreed. When I asked him to speak with his superior he says he's actually his own boss so I should call Mazda Corporate and gives me a 800 number. I was there during lunch time and there was nobody there buying cars and only two other customers in "service". He did not even dry my car so I really don't khnow if he even fixed the problem. Some service. So I will take this up with "Corporate Mazda" and will never set foot again in this place. Do not bring your car here. If you must, don't sign anything they put in front of you. They must be desperate if this is how they treat people. More
Following a disturbing experience at Ramsey Mazda (see reviews), we visited Mazda of Lodi and had a great experience with Glen and Lance. We briefly described the situation that occurred at Ramsey regard reviews), we visited Mazda of Lodi and had a great experience with Glen and Lance. We briefly described the situation that occurred at Ramsey regarding our potential lease of a CX9 and Glen and Lance quickly gave us a price on a lease deal. We decided to lease the CX9 there and the experience was much more positive than the Ramsey experience. Lance and Glen were professional, friendly and courteous and seemed to give us the best deal which was much better than the proposed deal/debacle at Ramsey. I would highly recommend to anyone to use this dealership and please read my review of Ramsey and stay away!!! More
Here's the thing.. if you do your research ahead of time and don't rely on rely on the salesmen for every single detail, your experience should be just fine. I came after 8 pm on a Monday night, dealt with and don't rely on rely on the salesmen for every single detail, your experience should be just fine. Lance was very personable and professional. He was willing to work me to get to a price point that I wanted. I leased a new Mazda 3 for one of my daughters. He did the heavy lifting of working with his management team to get me the price I needed. I was returning a leased car with excessive miles and lance was able to get me a rebate check from the dealer to help offset 90% of my out of pocket expenses and for the excess miles. I would the dealership and specifically Lance to friends and family for their car needs. More
On January 6, 2010 I went to the dealership and brought a lady who had some credit problems and was not approved by another Mazda dealer. Mr. Zaku took control of the situation and really walked the extra mile the get the deal done. Even though a higher down payment was required to close the deal, the important thing is that the objectives of the customer were satisfied. Mr. Zaku is very intelligent, great education, great manners, and above all, he puts the interest of his customers first. More
My 2002 Honda Civic was pretty beat up, and it was starting to goc. I went to Honda and Toyota, both didnt work out. It was New Years Eve, at about 4pm. James was OUTSTANDING. He was very easy goi starting to goc. I went to Honda and Toyota, both didnt work out. It was New Years Eve, at about 4pm. James was OUTSTANDING. He was very easy going with the price I was looking for, he was extremely efficient, he even gave me a deal when I needed to increase my miles (10K wasnt enough for me). The paper work was done so fast, but professional. I feel as though I blinked my eyes and I had a new car. He was also great about the amount he gave me for my Civic. I was at Honda for an hour, and got no where, I was at Mazda for 45 min with a deal, papers signed, and in my new car. Amazing experience and I would recommend James as your sales guy! He was down to earth, very friendly. Gave us that comforting feeling, that I wasnt being taken advantage of, and he was there to make sure I was happy. He even called and transfered my insurance for me!! New Years Eve at 4pm, you'd think that car dealerships would be annoyed with us for coming in so late, because they want to close up, but not Mazda at Lodi. They did what needed to be done to make sure I walked out with a new car, and was happy! More
Mazda of Lodi is full of crooks who are looking to take advantage of you, trick you into signing the contract and then never fulfil any of their promises. They are extremely rude and disciminate against pe advantage of you, trick you into signing the contract and then never fulfil any of their promises. They are extremely rude and disciminate against people of different backgrounds. My husband and I came to Mazda of Lodi to test drive their new Mazda-3 model. The dealer,James, showed us the car and told us that we had an option of terminating our current lease early. He said he would take my current car in,cover the last remaining lease payment and would also take care of the scratch on the back door,of which I had informed him right away.He said their body shop would fix it,and I would have to pay $150 for the labor. In return,we had to sign the new lease right away and choose a car from his existing inventory. He DID NOT have the color or the package(leather seats) I was looking for, however, I agreed since he was willing to take my old car "as is" and fix the scratch for $150 dollars. We signed the lease right there, and I personally returned my old car to him a couple of days later. He took it from me without a word. 2 WEEKS later they asked me to come in and sign my "end of lease" documents on the old car. When I looked at the documents, it was a $850 bill for the scratch from my old car's company which Mazda of Lodi promised to fix for me. It was completely unexpected and contradicted the terms of our agreement. When we tried to argue with them, the manager of the dealership, GLEN, said that HE WILL NOT ALLOW US TO RIP HIM OFF LIKE THAT. He prevented James (our dealer) from helping us and complying with the terms of his own agreement with us. He also said that PEOPLE LIKE US ARE WRONG FOR THIS COUNTRY (hinting at our accent and Eastern European origin), and THAT HE WOULDN'T ALLOW US ANYWHERE NEAR HIS DEALERSHIP EVER AGAIN. I'd never been so insulted in my entire life. Besides, had I not been misled by their false promises, I would have taken care of my old car myself and would have most likely chosen a different new car in a color and package I was actually interested in. I would strongly recommend to stay away from them. More
