We had two recalls on our truck. The second was new enough that they didn't have the parts in stock. Dropped my truck off to have a coolant changed. They described this service as a coolant flush. When driving home after the service, my truck flashed a warning light for "low coolant". I pulled over, shut the truck off, and called the service department to see if it was safe to operate the truck with the warning. They asked me to pop the hood to check the coolant level in the reservoir. No coolant was visible in the reservoir, but they said it was fine to drive it home as long as it didn't get hot. I had to take the truck back the next day so they could add coolant. After driving home after the second visit, the coolant level was still below the level mark on the reservoir. I called again and they said there must be air in the system. How did the system get air in it if it was flushed? I ended up buying some coolant and adding it myself. This experience has cost me two 50-mile trips to the dealership and missed work. I could have saved money by draining the system and filling it myself. I opted for the flush to avoid getting air in the system. Very frustrating experience. More
As far as scheduling and getting my oil changed there was no problem. But they brought out a reusable air filter that was on the truck and told me it needed replaced. Not knowing any better I said to go ah no problem. But they brought out a reusable air filter that was on the truck and told me it needed replaced. Not knowing any better I said to go ahead and change it, but please put the used one in the bed of the truck for my husband to look at.. They did and charged me 30.00 for a filter I could get at WM for 8.58. The one they removed costs anywhere from 45.00 to 65.00. I feel like they took advantage of my age and gender. From now on my husband will take my truck in for the oil change. They also told me I only had 2% life left on my rear break pads and for 250.00 they would take care of that. We will see if they bring this up to my husband next time the oil is changed. More
