I received a call that my car was ready, and went to the dealership to pick it up. Service went to drive it up for me, and came in to say that it wasn’t right yet. They found a loaner for me. I received dealership to pick it up. Service went to drive it up for me, and came in to say that it wasn’t right yet. They found a loaner for me. I received another call the next day to come back for it. Finally have my car! I drove home and she appears to be fine. The service manager, Wayne, was very helpful. I live an hour’s drive away from the dealership, so I am very grateful that they found the problem with the repair and fixed it before I tried to drive her home. I love my little car! More

I did not deal with Scott until the very last day and even then I spoke to him for about five minutes. During the original process of searching for a vehicle I did not have a good experience. I told my salesman my budget and he continued to put it at the highest point. Did not try to find a better deal. I had an appointment and waited 40 minutes. After finding the vehicle I wanted to purchase and using the payment tool on their website I was told that it doesn't include certain things like fees and taxes. It absolutely does. I was also given a contract to sign for the vehicle I didn't want. That may have been human error. I also ran my credit through the dealership online and he tried giving me another application to sign saying that the first one was only a soft inquiry. It wasn't. It already showed up on my credit report. I purchased insurance on the vehicle on Wednesday, didn't pick it up until Monday. He also couldn't explain why vehicles at other Mathews dealerships with similar makes,models, car stats, and miles seemed to be on average 1800 cheaper. Some were almost to three grand cheaper. I went into this experience with a hopeful attitude. My other recent car buying experience was horrific and I explained the situation to the salesman and as you read it went slightly better than the first. That doesn't say much at all. I am not a difficult human and it wasn't about my "level of comprehension" that made me continue to ask why. I knew more information than he thought I did yet he couldn't explain anything or refused to ask another individual with more experience or upper management. Above all, I wanted a safe car. The one I was being pushed towards ended up having a recall for spontaneous fires. It specifically said to park the car away from buildings and other vehicles. It wasn't certified although it's a make the dealership does certify. And lastly, the backhanded comments about having to get up and talk to someone for the last time werent needed. In customer service and dealing with humans you can absolutely stand your ground with "difficult customers" without that. Signing my contract and handing over the down payment went better than anything but at that point life happened and I wasn't fully there. BUT I got my vehicle. Thanks. More

My salesperson responded “the same but better” the mistake is mine to bear, and I accepted the his answer without question. I am 77 yrs old and 5’1”. A MUST for me is the tail gate and it is absent. My bad, as I should have asked since this is my 5th subaru in approx 10 yrs. I called my rep that same day when I got home and he was sympathetic but aloof and implied that is too bad. I asked to recommend someone or company that could install an aftermarket & he was certain he could find one. I cannot reach high enough to close trunk and it is way too heavy for me. Needless to say, I have called 4x and left messages without success. Once he answered the phone and stated he was working on it. Sure. As an aside, every Subaru came with rubber mats because we reside in a major snow area. He also told me that Matthews doesn’t do that . As I am a huge fan of Subaru vehicles, I was preparing two more purchases for 2 of my grandchildren’s graduations from college this coming June. My love affair has died with this experience and the Matthew dealership. for I am disappointed that I cannot use my trunk & with my rep including the company that trained him. Apparently, no loyalty exists. I need to alert all of my senior Friends and acquaintances, at this age, Subaru is eager for the sale and cares nothing about your confidence, loyalty or needs. More
