I found that jobs on my 2020 Kona were incomplete or incompetent altogether. Never thought I would have concerns because I have entrusted this dealership with my car for 3 years and always felt I was in incompetent altogether. Never thought I would have concerns because I have entrusted this dealership with my car for 3 years and always felt I was in good hands and trusted the dealership's work...until my last visit when I went in for oil change, anti-theft software installation, and asked to have the brake light checked out because it kept coming on! I was told brake fluid was fine, but I needed new front brakes. I was concerned after this last service because the brake light was still coming on! So, I mentioned my problem about the brake light to a friend, who is a mechanic and advised him that I was told it's ok and brake fluid level was fine. My friend checked my brakes to find that yes, I needed them. He also took a look under the hood and found my dip stick was not properly secured and oil had splattered throughout engine and inside hood of my car. My friend also advised me that the lug nuts were as tight as 120 lbs. (too tight...s/b about 80 lbs.) and I found a few that were so loose it only took a couple of turns to come off! So, my friend and his son, who is also a mechanic, replaced the brakes. In checking over the rest of my car, it was discovered that none of my filters had been replaced (apparently since I've had the car because as my friend showed me, the filters were totally black with debris...no white or near white coloring at all throughout the filters! I paid to have filters replaced, including my maintenance check, which should have included changing filters!) My friend and son changed the front breaks, replaced the filters, added brake fluid (brake light is now off), and I had the oil added previously, as it was lower than should be after the splattering. I am so upset and disappointed. I was refunded $20, which I accepted, but under the circumstances, I should have had full refunds, as now I feel the jobs have not been done as told. I never had the car looked at after service before this because all my concerns were taken care of, so I thought. Todd, the Service Manager, was always great to work with and I have the utmost respect for him. I am not going to blame him for what the mechanics are doing/not doing in the garage. He was not happy when I told him what happened and was going to discuss the issues with the woman who did the last job. Also, I have no certificate that my anti-theft software was installed at this last appointment...makes me wonder if it was done now. Sadly, I am not sure if I will go back to this dealer because the workmanship was so poor. I keep the maintenance up on my car because I want it to last for years to come, but if the jobs are not being done accurately, it worries me, along with the fact that I'm paying for work I thought was being done.
