I was going to the dealer to buy out my lease. And in these crazy Covid times I was a bit paranoid about spending a long time inside. Service Department Review: Went there for an oil change, cabin air filter change, transmission fluid flush. They also replaced a damaged collision sensor while there. They knew there was a recent front end cabin air filter change, transmission fluid flush. They also replaced a damaged collision sensor while there. They knew there was a recent front end impact (8 months prior) that hardly did any damage. I did not file any insurance claims for that. When I picked up my car, which has 60,000 miles on it, I immediately noticed the air conditioner was not performing properly (low mileage for the AC to just crap out). Then later, I found all the freon on the floor in the garage. I called them and told them that the air conditioning had stopped working since I picked up the car. They told me it was just a coincidence and that it is summer in Florida and things happen. Then proceeded to offer the solution that I should go ahead contact my insurance company and look into filing a claim. They also agreed to take a look at the car once I pressed them about it. They accused me of calling them negligent. Rude and snarky, which I did not...I only asked that if they did break something, that they take accountability and fix it. I dropped the car off to have it looked at, requesting that if something had gotten broken while they were in there that they would fix it. The manager contacted me and informed me that the evaporator coil had gone bad and sprung a leak and would need to be replaced along with other air conditioner parts totaling in the range of $4000-$5000. She suggested I get an insurance adjuster out there to take a look immediately. I told her I'd be picking the car up. When I picked the car up, I very kindly and respectfully let them know I was taking the car elsewhere and if I found any funny business had gone on, I would have no choice but to take legal action. I'm not assuming any funny business happened, and let them know I honestly hope they're being honest. The manager told me she is confident anybody that looks will say it's a coincidence. Then followed up pushing the insurance claim again saying, you know you can just file an insurance claim...do you have something against filing a claim? I politely told her that I was not going to file a claim. Then being it's the 3rd time it was pushed, I asked her if she was looking for an insurance payout. They didn't like that question! I left and took my car elsewhere to be fixed for half the price they were telling me it would cost. That's what happened to me. Now you can decide for yourself. More
