A recall was issued for a transmission control module on my 2014 Ford Focus. Since I was having issues with the transmission, I made an appointment for it at MC Ford. The guy in the service department was my 2014 Ford Focus. Since I was having issues with the transmission, I made an appointment for it at MC Ford. The guy in the service department was asking me questions about the issues I was having. I told him it wasn't shifting right, it shuddered when going from stop to go, it hesitated between gears. He asked if the check engine light was on and I said no. He said they'd have to run a diagnostic on it and it would cost me $130 if it ended up being something other than the transmission control module. I knew there was something wrong so I agreed to the charge if it wasn't the TCM. I took my car in and waited for it. About 20 minutes later I get my car back and they said there was nothing wrong with it as there were no codes when they checked it. He led me to the cashier window and gave a paper and my keys to the gal at the window then walked away. Then the gal told me my bill was $150! I said there's nothing wrong with my car and the service guy said there be a charge if something ELSE was wrong other than the TCM. I didn't have time to argue so I paid the bill. Upon further inspection of the bill I noticed that they only drive my car ONE mile to check for the issues I mentioned to them. I called them later to complain that the car was still hesitating when shifting gears and shuddering when starting out from a dead stop. He said I could bring it back but since there were no codes and it didn't do it when they drove it, it was highly unlikely there was anything wrong. I may be a female but I KNOW when something is wrong with one of my cars! So I called Harrison Ford in Clear Lake, they got me right in, changed out the TCM and my car runs great now. I wouldn't recommend Mason City Ford to my worst enemy but I HIGHLY recommend Scott Pingel and the service department at Harrison Ford in Clear Lake!! More
I was pleased with the dealership in that I am out of town and they were willing to take a look at my truck right away noting the axel lock was stuck on, They were able to fix it on the spot to get me town and they were willing to take a look at my truck right away noting the axel lock was stuck on, They were able to fix it on the spot to get me home which I greatly appreciated. They took 44 minutes the unfortunate part is that I was charged $ 130 plus tax. I feel this was a lot for 44 min work and with no parts. More
I will never ever go back to this dealership. I spent most of my day there. I wanted to buy a car for $3,500 which had some issues that needed to be fixed. They would not negotiate at all. Not ev I spent most of my day there. I wanted to buy a car for $3,500 which had some issues that needed to be fixed. They would not negotiate at all. Not even to fix the brakes on the vehicle or take $200 less for the vehicle. I am a single mother of two who drove two hours to test drive and wanted to purchase the vehicle but they wouldn't budge for the life of them. Worst customer experience I have ever had with buying a vehicle. More
Called the dealership on 9/18 to see if a vehicle was still available for sale to look at on Saturday 9/19 as we had a 3 hour drive ahead if us. Kevin, the sales rep asked his boss and assured me it wou still available for sale to look at on Saturday 9/19 as we had a 3 hour drive ahead if us. Kevin, the sales rep asked his boss and assured me it would be available the next morning and detailed by 11 am. We were 2 hours into our drive when Kevin called hoping we hadn’t left yet as the vehicle was not going to be available. Apparently the sales manager had been driving it herself and decided to drive her pickup to work, while the vehicle we were very interested in was driven by her husband to work which was sitting at a casino parking lot. He said it would be available on Monday to see. They had not contacted the sales manager to let her know we were coming to look at the vehicle. I believe it is very poor business to offer vehicles for sale and let spouses drive them to sit in a parking lot. Can’t make sales sitting in a parking lot at a casino. Won’t do business with this dealership even though this was the vehicle we’d been looking for. More
Stopped in to see about lease deals on new Trucks. I had done some research up front and knew what to expect coming in. They had the perfect truck and surprised me with a fair deal up front! Scott Deetz is the most dishonest, errogant, obnoxious, disrespectful salesmen I have ever done business. Management would do themselves a big favor by terminating this jerk. disrespectful salesmen I have ever done business. Management would do themselves a big favor by terminating this jerk. More

the worst ford dealer or any mechanic shop ive ever been to. so i called and made an appointment at 1pm on the 22nd of Feb. my 2004 F250 had a MINOR coolant leak coming from the thermostat housing.. the truck ra so i called and made an appointment at 1pm on the 22nd of Feb. my 2004 F250 had a MINOR coolant leak coming from the thermostat housing.. the truck ran and drove in excellent condition. i read all the negative reviews and decided to give them a chance. wow has this been one of the worst mistakes of my life... as i said i drove the truck into the MC ford service station. no issue at all. during the course of 3 hours i call and find out the truck is done to come get it and that it was only a simple thermostat O-ring which was leaking. NO biggie... I told them specifically to not let anyone else drive my truck which I later found out that they let other drive it Test Drive it as in hot dogging it around. i come back to the dealer to pick my truck up. paid the cashier and at this time i have my son with me. get my keys and go out to my truck. i literally no more than make the left out of the parking lot and my turbodiesel begins to chug violently. coughing spitting and sputtering. i call the dealer and tell them about the issue they say come back on in. i barely make it back to the MC ford dealer. then they imply that it was the coolant that did something to the crank trigger. i called BS. first of all if that was the case it would have started days before the tiny 3 hour stop at ford. a guy named dylan has a crap attitude acting like he is annoyed anyone has come in for service and anytime you ask him a question he rolls his eyes. and he speaks to you in a very condesending way. read how many people who have never met bring up this guy Dylan. this guy treats people like crap. it's not like we got together and hang out every saturday and plan on picking on this guy it's because this guy is a real @$$hole with a crap attitude and the simple fact that he is still the face you see at the MC ford service department means Luke Schmidt doesnt care not at all how me you or anyone else is treated knowing full well of the complaints and bad reviews.. whats worse is LUKE SCHMIDT went to bat for this guy on the phone. HOLD YOUR PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE!!! anyway the diesel tech says well its not their fault but they will be glad to look at it to rule out their screw up. as this conversation was getting way to heated and i was getting way too upset and i didnt want to knock this guys jaw off in front of my 9year old i walked away locking my truck in the OUT side of the service station which i took pictures of with my phone. this is key. i took my keys with me and left with my wife to clear my head. now i left the truck in the OUT side of the service lane locked with the alarm system activated. durring this time i had called the main manager luke schmidt which didnt get me anywhere. quotoed We only want to help you... this is how much help they intended. i was contacting local wreckers to pick my truck up and to take it to a way more reputable comany like miller diesel when luke mumford kept calling me. luke mumford is their bottom tier employee that drives a parts running truck. so when i did make it back to the dealership not only did i find out that they DRUG my truck with a locked sterring coloum into the IN side of the service lane, but they had also not made any attempt to call me from the MC ford company at all. who knows what damage has now happened to my vehicle under their poor professional supervision. what i did do is filmed with our hd camera every part of showing up outining the drag marks in the slush, and to top it all off they knew i was hiring a wrecker so what does this very unreputable company do. they intentionally park a gold car right behind my truck and the nose to my truck is up to the IN garage door. preventing me or the wrecker i had hired to retrieve my vehicle. and having luke mumford try to call me from his PERSONAL cell phone does not constitute a professional call from MC ford to inform me of DRAGGING my truck. this is by far the worst dealer ever. forget it being a Ford, Dodge, Chevy whatever kind of dealer these people are beyond words terrible. if you anything learn from my mistakes. read this companies negative reviews and dont do what i did. they have had too many chances with too many people and have a list a mile long of times they have screwed over the public. how in world are these people still in buisness. BTW i will freely give anyone wow asks me for the pictures and video of what i recorded. like to see how LUKE SCHMIDT will excuse this. My name is Dan and i can be reached at 559-3zero4-2099. i live here in mason and will be seeking litigation. I would take them to small claims court however in small claims i cant subpoena their own security camera footage to prove that they DRUG my vehicle and that they did NOT listen by having someone else other that the person I allowed to drive my truck. I sincerely believe my truck is worse off now because of the the shotty mechanical work and more over the individual they had hot rod my truck around. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE UNATTENDED EVER!!!! from review of their tech stealing out of customer cars, to a huge list of extremely bad mechanical work, to overcharging, to the mistreatment of customers. Please run for the hills and dont belive a word they say. take your vehicle to MILLER Diesel, or GRAHAM Tire or even walmart service center is a safer more professional alternative. for anyone else that has been mistreated by this company please contact me i am serious about the lawsuit. and a court would love to hear your experience More
Who wants to use a service company that steals?????????? I brought my car in for oil change on a Saturday b/c I had good luck with this dealership before. I had to prompt kid at the service desk to have the car vacuumed and washed (both are supposed to be a courtesy for buying oil change). I got halfway home and realized my change, chap stick, and new pack of gum were gone. Nice. I went back to MC Ford dealership to retrieve my personal possessions and was told "they were in the driver's side door" which was b.s. -- they were not. The kid who cleaned the car was standing there and had a guilty look on his face. Busted! I'm a mom -- I know guilt when I see it. Doubt I'll be back. Sad. UPDATE: Scott Deetz from MC Ford called me within minutes of my review post to get me to change my online review. They don't want a bad review, he said, "because it's not fair." I told him what's not fair is having $10 worth of stuff stolen, being lied to, and now he wants to make ME the bad guy?? xxx! I told him he needed to talk with his staff, train them to better serve their customers, and eliminate the ones that steal. He wanted me to come BACK to the dealership to "discuss" my "scathing review." As if that will make it right. His request almost sounded like a call to the principal's office. lol. As if ANYONE in their right mind would go to that. So he kept talking...and talking...and talking. Never have I heard anyone talk more without saying ANYTHING than Scott Deetz. He certainly loves the sound of his own voice. Yet he offered NO RESOLUTION in the twelve minute conversation so I told him that and ended the call. He called back saying "he was sorry we were somehow disconnected" when he knew full well I terminated the call due to his poor resolution skills and ineffective leadership. He offered no apology, did not accept responsibility, and offered no resolution to the problem. I want NOTHING more to do with this dealership. Period. I definitely will not be back. More
