Now, when I went there to test drive a smart car after I was done they asked me what they needed to do to get me to put a down payment down. I told them this model didn't come with heated seats, or a sound system, and I could get one with both those things for less with comparable mileage. They promised me $1000 sight unseen for my trade in, heated seats, and the sound system. When it came time to do the paperwork I decide I wouldn't push for the sound system, but I wasn't going to let go of the heated seats. I knew they would be expensive to get myself, and I wanted to choose my own radio. The day of the paperwork Joe took me for another test drive and explained the heated seats were going to be extremely expensive for them to get. After that ride Maureen, who promised me the seats, pulled me aside and told me they couldn't get them. Lie #1. Are they expensive, or are they impossible to get? I knew they could get them, but there was a lot going on and she promised as soon as they could get them they would. I figured I'd deal with it later. Mistake #2. (#1 was going here in the first pace). Lie #2 came when Eric tried to tell me Smartcars are the most stolen automobile in the US to try and get me to buy Gap insurance. I knew this was a bold faced lie and that toyotas and the like are the most stolen cars, but I let it slide as I was planning on getting gap insurance anyway and their offer was less than my bank's. Lie #3 was that they weren't going to be doing credit checks on my mom who was willing to co-sign for me. They did a few. They kept acting like giving me a grand for my trade in was doing me a favor, when Kelley Blue Book offered me $1300 the day before my first trip to the dealer. So I'm calling that lie #4. Well, before the car could pass inspection the check engine light came on. I was expected to drive the car an hour to the mercedes dealership to get repaired, drop it, leave it for who knows how long, then go back and get it. My wife and I are a one car family. There was no way I could do that just to save Martin's money on the repair. (the car was still under manufacturer's warranty so it would have been free to fix at the dealership). So I dropped the car back off at Martin's and they brought it in. I spoke with Mercedes several times over the few days they had my car and asked about the heated seats. They told me they don't sell the heated seats for smartcars, but there are plenty of aftermarket options to get what I wanted. When I was doing the final paperwork Eric and Maureen tried to convince me to omit the part where they still owed me heated seats. I wrote it in, and I'm glad I did as it looks like I'm going to explore other avenues of complaint to get my heated seats. They also pressured me to fill out these reviews while sitting in their office, which made it impossible to be honest the first time I wrote it. So take those 5 star reviews with a grain of salt. I have made a few phone calls about the heated seats without a single return call being made. As a result I changed this review, and I will continue to change other reviews and write new ones until I get a call back and some kind of date for the install of my seats. My advice? Stay as far away from this place as possible. They will lie to your face about everything to get you into a car. If they promise you something for your car in an effort to get your money, refuse to pick it up until it's installed. More
Switch a roo well i started talking to a salesman we went on a test drive as i asked questions about the car and the bad reveiws i read on the website; he assured well i started talking to a salesman we went on a test drive as i asked questions about the car and the bad reveiws i read on the website; he assured me the dealership was under new management and all their cars are under 30 day warrenty. so the salesman asked me what i hoped to get out of this visit i answered i would like to know the numbers, the finance charge, the bottom line Basically i wanted to know if i could afford the payment because i was trading in another car and i knew the balance would be added on. the salesman assured me it would be in the range i pay now. well he lied. i pay $100 more. and the lady there didnt want to tell me although i was signing papers saying i accepted an offer without knowing the offer. finally Chris helped me and understood and took the time to talk to me instead of at me. i would recommed this place its definatly better than the last place i went. Chris took my truck and got the truck inspected sticker for me. I thought this level of service to be very courteous and he answered other questions i had about features of the car that the other salesman ignored these questions. Thanks auto queen. so far so good. More
