I recommend yo Here is a letter I had wrote to the people of Toyota Motor and Marina Del Rey. Read it and decide if you want to do business with them. I recommend you don't. Dear Sir/Madame, Hello, my name is Alla Levina and I am a loyal Toyota customer first buying my Toyota Camry LE Gallery Edition in 2001. Recently I was involved in an auto incident and of those results needed a new vehicle. From the safety and reliability of the first Toyota Camry I had decided to purchase a new Toyota Prius Prime Advance 2017. The vehicles information is as follows VIN: ***************** which was bought from Culver City Toyota. The representative there, Shelly Cruz, had informed me that I am able to go to any dealership and be able to charge it without any problems. Having that information and working next to a Toyota dealership I took advantage of this knowledge. I work for Cedars-Sinai, Marina Del Rey Hospital and next to our hospital there is a Marina Del Rey Toyota dealership. Since buying my vehicle on January 28, 2017 not having even two weeks go by I encounter a problem from this dealership. In the beginning when I brought my car to this dealership, Marina Del Rey Toyota, I had asked if it was ok for me to charge this car and was told by Juan (if I remember the name correctly), that it is ok to charge my car here. The person offered to me to replace my paper plates from Culver City Toyota (where I have bought the car) to Marina Del Rey Toyota. I authorized that because I was thinking if I am nice to them, they will be nice to me. That is how normal people usually do the business with each other. In case of any emergency I had even left my phone number so I can be reached in case of anything. Cedar-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital is less than 100 feet away from the dealership. This past Thursday February 09, 2017 I received a phone call from the dealership informing me that I am parking my vehicle illegally and that I should either move my car or it will be towed. At first, I was completely shocked since my vehicle had been parked in my garage and not on the dealership. I didn't get a chance to catch the person's name of whom I had spoken to but decided that tomorrow February 10, 2017 I would go to the dealership and investigate what the issue was. Upon arrival my son and I were greeted by the Upgrade Program Director, Chuck Serafin. I had told him that yesterday I received a phone call from a lady who stated that she was the manager at this location and demanded that I move my vehicle when it was not even near the dealership. I had also stated to him that she was neither polite nor courteous to someone whom she did not know but was rather hostile, rude, and unprofessional. He stated to us that he will never shows that type of attitude towards a customer and he will go investigate if there is a female manager here and what the issue was. Having waited approximately 5-10 minutes a lady appeared in the cubicle. She neither stated her name or who she was. Assuming she was the person I spoke to yesterday over the phone I asked her, "What was the problem yesterday?" she replied, "You parked your car here yesterday illegally but later I found out that the VIN was wrong." Having stated that I thought ok it's an honest mistake and everyone can do it so I waited for her to apologize to me, but instead I was then bombarded with harassment and accusations that I 1) Took the property owners parking spot, 2) park my car there every day for 12 hours and not allow anyone else to use the parking spot and 3) we didn't buy the car from the dealership, so we have no right to even be on this dealership premises. She then continued stating that she was "here to help us" and "we have to be nice to her if we want her help" and also that she has witnesses and camera recordings of our vehicle parked on the property. We requested to see our accuser(s) or even the video recording of our vehicle being parked there. She refused to show it to us and walked out of the cubicle. After being treated in such a demeaning way we decided to leave but before we did we would like to know her name. I asked for her business card and found out that her name is Joy Anderson who is the Client Relations Manager. Being treated in such a manner from a person whose job it is to be courteous, polite, and professional is in no way inviting for customers. I would like for this problem to be resolved because I do not think that after this interaction I will ever consider not only buying a Toyota but even telling my family and friends that the customer service is something that will leave you with a bad aftertaste. After a few hours my son decided to call Toyota Headquarters and spoke to Edith who provided him with the case #: ***-***-**** and had also advised him that you are welcome to use any Toyota dealership and charge your vehicle there. Sincerely, Alla Levina More
Liars, cheats. I have been try to build a trust with this dealer since I bought my 4 Runner there in 2003. Things were OK until I hit 150,000 miles, then they state I have been try to build a trust with this dealer since I bought my 4 Runner there in 2003. Things were OK until I hit 150,000 miles, then they stated recommending major service for brakes and struts they had done a year before. When I questioned the service manager, his excuse was to blame the technician, I was planning to drop off my 4-Runner for Minor Service and get the Knott's Berry Farm free Admission Vouchers as I have been doing for years but this time I was told it was only for "Qualified Toyota Care Customers". I'm so glad I had found an independent service garage that is honest, fair and reasonable. I would be a fool to go back to this dealer. I know this will probably not get posted because I also know the surveys do not get sent to the customers unless they will give a rating of EXCELLENT. More

Additional issue took about 30 minutes longer, less time than Jeff estimated. Also, he advised me of an upcoming timing belt change needed based on my mileage and the year of my vehicle. He was informed about my truck and specific maintenance issues to my year and took the time to explain why and what was needed. Rate he quoted me for the upcoming work was cheaper than I found at an independent repair shop and another dealership. I will definitely be bringing my truck back for future service needs. More

I have had my car serviced at MDR Toyota many times and have always been satisfied. But after my most recent experience, I will NEVER take a car there again. A few weeks ago, my car wouldn't start. The have always been satisfied. But after my most recent experience, I will NEVER take a car there again. A few weeks ago, my car wouldn't start. The Auto Club guy who gave me a jumpstart thought the starter was bad and needed to be replaced. One of the battery connectors also was loose. I took the car to MDR Toyota later that day and told them what the tow truck driver had said. They called me later and said the whole wire harness was corroded by battery acid and that they would need to pretty much tear the whole car apart to replace it. The quote was almost $3300. It just didn't feel right to me, so the next day I had the car towed to another repair location. I told them what MDR Toyota had said and their quote. Their diagnosis was that the battery terminal just needed to be replaced. The bill was a little over $200. I've had the car back for several weeks and have had no problems starting it. Draw your own conclusions. More
I do not live in this area. On 10/5/10, I discovered my battery was dead when fetching my Matrix from long term parking after an overseas trip. I had it towed to the nearest Toyota dealer, which was the one at Marina del Rey. They cheerfully replaced the battery and at my request changed the oil and rotated the tires. Then Eddie comes to me with a long face to say that my brake pads needed an emergency replacement. He looked quite irritated when I said I'd have my regular auto maintenance people look at them when I got back home. 25,000 miles later I still have the same brake pads with my regular guys' blessing. I have been using the dealership for two years and have had great mechanical results, however the car has suffered some dents and scratches coming out of the service. My recent visit was for a basic inspect had great mechanical results, however the car has suffered some dents and scratches coming out of the service. My recent visit was for a basic inspection and engine oil and filter change, along with a wheel alingment. ( new tires ) I have brought it the attention of the Service Manager, Jon Valestin. Jon has been extremely accomadating and supportive of some major mechanical issues on the car, (transaxle). He always meets me with a smile and a hand shake. In addition Mario from customer service, is very poilte and accomadating as well. The only negetive which I discussed with Jon were two items that appear to have been missing after the last service a three cell red Mag flash light and a rand mcnally road atlas. Not overly expensive maybe 30$ total for both but more the principal of the matter that someone there needed them more than I. Overall I recommend the facility to other people I know who are inthe area and drive Toyota's. There was a service writer by the name of Bruce, who was my service writer until recent who always did a fabluos job for me and never hestitated to take the car infor service when I needed. I was disapointed to see him not with the company anymore. More
Had a great experience with Marina Del Rey Toyota. I usually have my Sequoia serviced at a local mechanic's shop, but called Marina Del Rey for some recall work.
